We were visiting Saint Emilion and had lunch in this amazing restaurant. The service was superb and the food was incredible. The presentation, the flavors, everything was excellent. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting St. Emilion.

In this restaurant flavors explode in your mouth as you eat, so delicious. To top the flavor, the presentation made it an experience on to itself. The staff was amazing explaining everything for us and very accommodating for my very picky 12 year old daughter. She dislike vegetables and now she eat carrots! Really this is the highlight of our trip to France.

Fine French dining in an intimate setting in the heart of Saint-Emillion, France. This spot was recommended by our hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Like most French restaurants it has quite formal service, crowded tables and food almost too pretty to eat. You will find them half way down a precariously steep cobblestone street (more like an alley) that can only be navigated in FLAT shoes so beware. You will likely need a reservation and they have sufficient English (including English Menus) to make the dining experience easy and comfortable. As for the food, this is France, and it is getting harder and harder as we travel to find differences-they all have quality ingredients, artful dishes and quality bread. One difference with this place is the wine list- it was the size of an encyclopedia with wines of the area including many half bottles across a wide range of prices. All in all a great place to celebrate our anniversary.

Restaurant Le Tertre is French dining at it's best. My friend found this restaurant and spoke enough French to make a reservation for our party of four. The table service was lavish and the food so good it made you savor every bite. All of our dishes were outstanding from the snails to the Crème brûlée. Their wine list was extensive and their recommendations good. I suggest making this a stop by this quaint location on any trip through Saint-Émilion.

Wear flat shoes because the restaurant is on a steep cobblestone street that looks like an ankle breaker.

This place was no different. Small restaurant in the the small village of Saint Emilion outside of Bordeaux. Adorable. Great view. Delicious cheese Delicious wine. Friendly service even though we asked for something they don't serve during lunch. So why remove a star this time. I have to differentiate these wonderful places and my only complaint is you have a menu on the street but aren't serving everything on the menu at that time. It's odd. The menu on the street advertised a plate of farmed cheese but that was only a dinner option and we were there during lunch. Why advertise it then? Anyway, be forewarned and remember the current "carte" is what they give you at the table-not what they advertise at the street. Nevertheless, they did have a charcuterie board and they gave it to us with only cheese, and they offered it-we didn't even ask. You know what? 5 stars. I changed it before posting. I don't care if the rest of my review no longer makes sense. There's no reason to take a star away. Great cheese, great wine, great views, friendly service that went out of their way to accommodate Americans who wanted something not on the menu. 5 stars it is.

On that beautiful spring Tuesday, we were able to sit on an outdoor covered table, breathing the extraordinarily beautiful and full St. Emilion air. We were a little early at noon, but the restaurant began to fill up as we shifted into standard lunchtime. We chose local wine by the glass, and went with the entree/plat prix fixe. I started with the foie gras, which was creamy, a large portion, and sprinkled with flecks of salt. My husband went with the butternut squash soup, which had a seared piece of foie gras right in the center. Both were really great. For my main course, I chose the entrecote (steak), which came with fries and a little salad. It was another huge portion that I couldn't finish. My husband had the duck breast with apples and eggplant, a seemingly strange combination that worked really well when executed. He also helped me eat some of the steak, because isn't marriage all about teamwork?

We were seated downstairs on a small patio , there is also seating upstairs on the main floor. We were sitting next to an olive tree , with some bees. Menu is on a chalk board, and lots of offerings. One tuning that was fabulous, was Brie and jam, warmed , served with bread. We also had the salad, which was top notch , especially in France. As one does in Saint Emilion, we began with some of the wine. They had a great selection within a sorts of budgets, and thankfully many of them were available by the glass and not just by the bottle. For the main meal, we had the baked Camembert and my husband had the Magret. Both were amazing! The Camembert was so flavorful that we dipped everything we could into it. The noise level at the restaurant was very reasonable and we were able to enjoy conversation freely. We were also in and out within an hour, so we had plenty of time to explore the rest of Saint Emilion. Would love to try more wines here next time.
