My hamburger & sweet potato fries were surprisingly good. My husband said that his pizza was also good. Unfortunately I wasn't super happy with the service. (1) It didn't look like a busy night but the service was very slow. Plus our waiter didn't even check on us. (2) Maybe it was a language barrier as I don't speak Swiss-German. Initially we had a difficulty using a drink voucher and 10% Marriott member disc. Eventually it was resolved but I walked away with the feeling that discount promotions that they offer are not welcome there.

Our server made the experience even better. They were incredibly attentive and gave us not only great food and wine recommendations but also some fantastic tips for our trip. I went with a group of girlfriends, and it was perfect for catching up and enjoying a relaxed evening. That said, the romantic decor and dim lighting make it an ideal spot for a date night, too. It has such a cozy, intimate vibe. And there was a neighborhood cat that wandered around the restaurant, adding a quirky charm, but it kept to itself, so no need to worry if you're not a cat person. All in all, La Baracca is a gem--great food, great ambiance, and truly memorable service.
