I also did not want to eat at my hotel and this was close enough to walk over to. The place itself is gorgeous inside and split into two rooms. White table cloths well dressed waiters and lots of them. Extensive menu with pasta, pizza, salads, meat and fish and also their kitchen specials. You are bound to find something here. I settled on a tomato soup and a pizza piccannte. The soup was rich, creamy, simple and delicious. The pizza was to die for. I did not have to add a speck or chili once it arrived at my table. It was spicy, delicious and the crust was yummy. I loved it and one of the best pizzas I have ever had. Service is super friendly and the owner was also very engaging. The waiters were a nice bunch of people. Ok whilst the meal was expensive, it is to be expected. I would come here in a heartbeat. It's good food and great service.

The onion rings were perfect and home made. I just wish they had some hot sauce to go with the ribs :-) their dessert card is huge with tons of options. For old time sake I ordered the cassata, an ice cream with fruit I grew up with and it was lovely. Service was great to start but then, got slower and slower. Despite that, I would come here again.

I LOVE Switzerland and all of the restaurants that are here, but my travels are often for work and I'm not left with the time to enjoy the meal durations some places have. Smiling Fish is a much faster pace, should you desire that. Our group got several appetizers, noodle dishes, rice dishes, and Thai dishes, all excellent. We then went back two days later to the same great food, great service, and quicker than average duration.
