The service here was exceptional, although the menu was in French, our server took the time to explain the menu and make recommendations in English. I'm not going to remember names of dishes (all in French) but will do my best to describe. We had the charcuterie plate to start, the meats are from Spain and totally mouthwatering, and their take on calamari which was absolutely delicious. For the main course my daughter had small pieces of pork on vegetables. She really enjoyed it, I snuck a piece and I can totally see why. I had what was explained to me a traditional French dish of sausage and duck on a bed of beans. The owner came out to explain how everything is organic and how he made the sausage and cut the duck himself that morning. If you find yourself in this neighborhood, please stop by this cute cafe with great food.

Inviting and refreshingly different from all the sushi resaurants in the area. With A menu full of home made food. I tried the delicious mouth watering grilled cheese served daily. My favourite is the jambon, emmental & moutarde au miel dipped into a bowl of home made creamy tomato soup (Ham, emmental cheese and honey and mustard.) The piggy pop is really delicious too. One bite and you're in pulled pork heaven. I also highly recommend the home made American cakes. Red velvet, carrot cake, humming bird, lemon squares..... The list in endless. The place has a relaxed 1950s luncheonette atmosphere and beautifully decorated. Can't wait to go back when I'm near the Grandes boulevards. They will soon be opening in Saturdays!

I recommend the goi dac biet (lotus root + shrimp) and the bun mam [yes it's half eaten it was too good]. My family also enjoyed this restaurant and they are picky when it comes to Vietnamese food. This place doesn't look like much when you pass by it; it was pretty empty when we went, but it ended up being way better than the other super crowded, hyped up, Vietnamese place that we tried.

Along the stretch of Avenue d'lvry where practically all restaurants are either Thai or Vietnamese, Saigon stands out for its spaciousness, a welcome sight for group loving diners. Pho is going to run between 6-9€, which is the going rate around here. For anyone who doesn't live on Euros or Pounds, paying the equivalent between $8-13 might not sound terribly appealing. The good news is the broth is light and tasty, though I think the quality of the meat in the Pho Tai was cooked a little too thoroughly prior to serving. The staff was polite and sweet and the menu was chock full of plenty of specialties such as banh beo, bo bay mon. Just knowing that alone is enough to get me to come back here when I'm back in Paris. Their cha gio was crispy but not terribly filling. The same would apply to the banh xeo, which is disappointing considering we're in France. From what I've understood this is one of the longest running Vietnamese spots in the hood and if they specialize in other edibles beyond pho, I'm all ears (and mouth).
