    Fondue and bratwurst.
    Michael B.

A very enjoyable evening sitting at one of their outdoor tables. Bratwurst and fondue were both good. One of my favorite meals of this trip. The restaurant is a block off the main old town area so it was a little quieter place to enjoy dinner with friends.

Very good, but definitely on the pricy end. Fondue is some of the best I've had--simple and exquisite at the same time. I enjoyed a local beer, but they have solid wine list I wouldn't have minded sampling. Service was friendly and helpful. Loved the old world atmosphere, and it was a convenient location. Glad to have dropped in.

    Traditional Swiss Macaroni.

We came just as the kitchen was closing, actually a few minutes after 2pm where they shut down until the evening meals, and our server was very nice and asked us as we sat if we were going to order food so he could ask the kitchen if they would stay open to make our meal. The waiter came back with a smile and said they were happy to serve us. We opted for a traditional Alpenmagronen which is a Swiss dish of macaroni, and Swiss cheeses, cubed potatoes and apple sauce on the side, and it's topped with perfectly crisp French onions. This was so rich and creamy I felt like skipping the local chocolate shop I was craving. This dish is what you want. Also water is usually an extra charge everywhere, so be prepared for that. The waiter was prompt when we asked for the bill. Learn some of the language and you will be rewarded with amazing experiences that equal your food.

I ordered the cheese plate because the fondue is NOT HALAL. The saddest meal i've eaten the fries were fresh and a very big portion.

Great place. We all figured we're in Switzerland, we have to have some Swiss Fondue. We asked one of our guides and she recommended this place. The building is just gorgeous. There are many beautiful painted buildings in Luzern and this one is definitely one of them, very eye catching. The guide said this place was popular so we got there early. There were just a few people when we go there but by the time we were done, it was jam packed. One thing that I noticed is a large majority of the diners looked liked tourists so I think it's common for the staff to have their hands full with customers like us who know very little about a fondue place. The first server that came to our table looked frustrated with our questions so he immediately turfed us off to another server who seemed much more patient. :) The four of us just ordered the cheese fondue with a side of potatoes to dip along with the bread. Just this was more than enough for the four of us. The fondues I've had in the past were usually with french or sourdough bread but this one was served with a wheat bread. This bread along with the potatoes were delicious dipped in the cheese. With the bread, a small ramekin of vodka was given to us. The server explained the thing to do was dip a small corner of the bread in the vodka before dipping it into the cheese. I gotta say, this really gave the bread/cheese combination that extra kick, fantastic. We unfortunately were leaving Luzern the next day otherwise I would've loved to come back and try some of the other things. This place was a bit pricey (about $33 person just for the fondue) but it was definitely worth it.

To be honest, they serve a good meal. The price of the food is acceptable, though it is expensive but it is just a little bit beyond the average level of the downtown price. However, there is a bad-service poker face manager who seems not happy when we just order a fondue and pork sausage dish, and he even add 7 bucks for plate without any notice. Excuse me, please at least tell your customers before adding any additional fee next time, or it's immoral.

This is a restaurant is in old town of Lucerne that serves traditional Switzerland meals. I have the sausage and has browns and my brother had the chicken and Mushroom. Both dishes were very good and filling. The flavors were just right. Not too strong and not too weak. They specialize in their Fondue which we did not get, however a table close to us got the cheese and chocolate fondue and it looked exceptional! The smiles on their faces said it all! Dishes range from 25 Swiss francs - 50 Swiss francs. Great place! I'd recommend it for any traveler.

Eh, it's Switzerland, so be prepared for most restaurants to have at least a $50 tab for 2. My brother's order got mixed up as he ordered a sausage fondue and I ended up getting the herb fondue instead of the one with a fried egg. When I raised the question about where the egg was, our server just kept asking if I wanted egg, so I said, yes if it was included. So she did bring me the egg, but I was billed separately for it, which ultimately worked out to the price of what I ordered, but it was a bit confusing at first. My sister in law ordered some fish and a side salad which was the size of an appetizer for $30. The fondue, which I really wanted to make an effort to try in Switzerland, was really nothing special to be quite honest. It didn't taste much different than the ones you get here in the states. It was $32 and all it included was some potatoes and bread. If you share, they'll tack on another $32 per person. The fondue bowl was way too big for one and there just wasn't enough dipper items for it to be worth it. Our bill ended up being about $70 for the fondue and my husband's rosti. It was really nothing special to be quite honest. Water will run you another $6-7.

Serving up traditional Swiss cuisine since 1602, Restaurant Fritschi is a must-see on your trip to Luzern. The building caught my eye right away, with its gorgeous, all-encompassing mural. The bottom of the structure features fire and a leaf-faced character melding with another character of air at the top. In between are characters of both the human and ogre variety. Absolutely beautiful and out of the ordinary. Recommended food to try here is the fondue or the Rosti. Price per person: CHF 45

The venue itself deserves a 5 star rating. It's got the oh so popular description of "character", but it truly is a badass place. However, I may just also be influenced by my infatuation with the city of Luzern. It's located just a few steps off the main bridge of the city. As for the food, the cheese fondue was pretty amazing. It's probably the best I've had although I don't eat much of it. The mixed meat kabob I got was not bad either, but nothing to write home about. They have patio seating out front, which is surrounded by local shops and stores in a cobblestone setting. I picture this place getting rowdy at times with locals pounding away beers, but I'm most likely dead wrong. Expect to spend at least 40 USD.

Very good fondue. Waitress spoke with us in English and let us share a fondue meant for one. It was very good and filling!

Cheese fondue was wonderful and the mixed salad was one of the best I've had. Get it with their Italian dressing

The food was decent but the prices are a little high even for Switzerland prices. It was a little weird we were the only ones inside

This place seems to be very popular with locals. We came for a very early dinner (around 4:30) and…read moresaw that most of the tables had reservation cards, so it was likely fully booked for the evening. We had the Tajine Kefta with fries and a small Mezze plate with Hummus, Baba Ganoush, Falafel, and Taboulé. The Kefta was moist with a loose texture. It was a little bit spicy and had generous amount of tomato sauce. The hummus and falafel were the weaker of the two mezze items. The hummus is a bit chunky (not super smooth or fluffy). The falafel came with Tzaziki (super creamy and very garlicy). They had good texture, but not super crunchy and crispy on the outside. The Baba Ganoush was really flavorful, deep, fresh, with good texture (smooth with some chunks of eggplant). The taboule was also really fresh tasting and moist. The service here was also notably great. Servers were super helpful and kind. Their bathroom was also quite nice.

Ok. We went there tonight. Read the reviews. Bluntly. You must not have many restaurants that can…read moreserve similar cuisine. I had the Kafka dish, basically lacking in spices and really with a tomato sauce would have been something a college student could have made for ten dollars for four people! My wife ordered vegetable couscous. Couscous( dry) with some sticks of carrots and zucchini. Keep in mind, we have to pay $34 CDN for EACH of these meals. If it wasn't for the beer and the feel to the place....1/2 a star would have been it. Ps. The bar was busy! Yes. I've downgraded to one star. The important part. My Kafka dish was not made fresh or had been sitting so long that it started to have the fat congeal. When I took the fancy cover off my dish when it arrived...a skin had formed over the whole dish and the edges had solid fat forming.
