The customer service is terrible. They don't respect customer. They have racist employees who judge you on your ethnicity and treat rudely. The people who are working on the floor are not helpful at all. Racism at workplace should not be tolerated. The corporate office should take serious notice such complaints. It's not acceptable. It happened to me when visited this Friday. A black lady with braids was standing at reception and was serving everyone nicely. But on my turn she didn't greet me and talked rudely. Great place for large items and easy to get around have major items. Equipment for business are available in the kitchen and large catering.

This place is clean and well organized. They have a great selection of bulk items just like the Costco and it is only for restaurants and more. I went here for halal steaks, leg of lamb and beef ribs. They have a great selection of meats and more. They do require you get a card and have to be a business owner and luckily a friend offered me to go look at it and buy couple of items. read more

With the supply chain issue that we are all experiencing as Restaurant Operators, we have to look elsewhere for supplies. I am at this location at least three times per week. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable! They go far and beyond when being approached with questions. Many times the prices are cheaper than our food distributor on some things. I bought a pack of beef ribs from this location. When I got home, I opened the bag and realized that the meat was bad. There was nothing wrong with the color but the smell was unbearable. My wife is pregnant and she almost threw up. Anyway, I put two pieces of ribs to plastic supermarket bags and headed back to the store to return it. I came to the front desk and explained what happened. The attendant asked for a receipt and told me that she needs manager's approval for the refund. I gave the receipt and started waiting. She announced manager's name over the PA at least 5 times but nobody showed up. I waited there around 20 minutes. At last, she called another person (I believe someone high ranked but little lower than the manager) and I explained the situation to him. I thought I would just get my refund and be good to go. Once he came, he asked me to open the bag, although he was able to see that inside of the bag was full of blood. But, I complied and opened the bag. He didn't touch anything as if smelly&rotted meat was my goods. (At home, I had to put 2 pieces of the meat in separate bags and put those 2 bags in another bag so the blood wouldn't drip in my car on the way back to the store.) After that he asked me to show the other piece of meat. (I think he thought that I already ate or kept the other piece at home). I felt humiliated but kept my cool. I took the other piece out in front of him and put all the bloody&smelly meat on the counter. It was clear that something was wrong with this person / store, but I didn't know the funny part was actually just starting. Then he asked me to find the label/barcode of restaurant depot. The bag was in front of him and he was avoiding touching the meat/bag and making me do things. Then I showed her the label. My hands were all bloody and smelly. As soon as he checked something on the label, he told me this meat belongs to the batch that they sold 2/3 months back and he cannot accept the return. I said "that is the issue". I told the story again and told him that I bought it 2 hours ago and showed the receipt." He said "I understand but he cannot accept returns of the goods that was purchased more than 72 hours". I was repeating myself because I didn't have anything else to say. Again, i said I bought this 2 hours ago, please check the cameras. He refused to do that. He was clearly blaming me with fraud. I was begging him to believe me but he neither listened nor believed me. Then he came up with a great idea. He told me he would check the stand where they sell these items and if he sees another item from the same/old batch he could do the return. "I said what if there is no item from the same batch? If there is a mistake you cannot expect the whole stand to have old dated meats. How can you prove that I didn't buy this meat today by looking at the dates of meats in the stand! What kind of logic is this!" He said, Then, I cannot do anything. It was the most ridiculous thing ever. Then I said "this is the first time that I'm buying this kind of meat from here. Please check my history of purchases and see if I have ever bought this meat other than today!" He said, "yes it is a good point, let me check". Then I waited another 5 minutes he Checked on the computer and said that I was right, i didn't buy this item within the past 90 days. I said "I should not be the one who is telling you what to do and find ways to satisfy customer." I thought that was it. But apparently I didn't know this guy enough. What else could happen? Then he called the employee who was responsible for that stand. He reprimanded him in front of me in very disrespectful way and made me even more uncomfortable. Very unprofessional! I was just getting start to feel sorry for the employee (because, you know "To err is human", right!?) then he defended himself saying "The item was not purchased today". I couldn't help but hysterically laughed. I said "A sorry was going to be enough, we didn't have to go thru this. Nobody knows how to say "I'm sorry" in this company? What a customer service!" Then the manager(if he is one) involuntarily apologized for the meat whereas I expected an apology for being treated this way. But it was, at least, something. Besides ruining my day, they gave me a store credit the amount of the bad meat. The lady in front desk was the only person who was helpful since the beginning and genuinely apologized for what happened. I have been going to go this place because they have good selection of halal products. I really like the meat sold here. But I think after what happened even god will forgive me buying the meat from somewhere else and eating non-halal. read more

It's interesting. If you don't know what's going on you will remain in the dark & no one will tell you a thing. It's not really user friendly & you can't really go peruse or just wander. I went with a friend who was buying in bulk for a function. Place is overwhelming which could be a magnificent thing but we couldn't figure out pricing & there was no one around to help / ask questions. Another reason for lower rating, is that prives just weren't that great. They're just a bit better than other retail outlets out there, esp. the super bargain places like Walmart etc... I expected more so I wasn't impressed. read more

Great value for restaurants, businesses, nonprofits, churches, etc! You need to be a member to go to this join, but if you are a business, restaurant, religious organization, nonprofit, etc.... you are qualified to become a member. You will need to provide paperwork to prove it as well! For the location, it is brand new, and they have wonderful staff! There are always good sales and the staff are always helpful in helping you look for items. I've been here on multiple instances and have shopped here for my student organization, and have never been disappointed in the deals. A lot of the deals are comparable to BJ's and Costco too! Instead of driving all the way to the Restaurant Depot in Alexandria, I only have to drive about 10-15 minutes to get to this location :) Super awesome! If you go to the freezer section and forget your jacket, they have jackets too! read more

If you make a mistake own up to it. I have never gone to a store where the cashier screws up and doesn't apologize and the manager is even more worthless. He didn't even want to give a refund. The cashier screwed up and overcharged us almost $17.00. I hadn't left store and went to customer service. They rerang everything and it was about $17.00 less than what the cashier charged me. She came over and started arguing. The manager even agreed with her. Not sure if maybe they were having an affair or something. But she up until the end didn't agree and said she was right. The manager told me that all I can do is give $1.94 back in a refund. He would argue and argue. Seriously how is this guy a manager? Is he blind? Deaf? Mentally Unstable? Why would I take a $1.94 over $17.00. I still don't get why such a random amount $1.94? He still was taking the cashiers side. He leaves and that dumb cashier. I told her she doesn't know math. The customer service guy rerang everything again it $17.00 something that I was over charged and he said he couldn't issue the refund. I told him I'm gonna call the cops. He said he was gonna call the manager to help. I told him the manager is garbage and having an affair with the cashier. He called the supervisor to issue the refund. So I own multiple small businesses across the east coast. I travel a lot and I have a restaurant depot membership with almost all my businesses, but I tend to use the picture of the card instead of having the physical card on me. Which I usually lose often. I get to the line to check out the card scans and says account is locked. I called my assistant I get another card picture sent to me. Get back in line same thing to another cashier. Then the lady tells me you have to scan it in before you come into the building. Okay I'm sorry no problem. Then she goes we don't scan pictures of the barcode we only scan physical cards. That's odd because prior to that you didn't have any issue with scanning it nor did the other cashier. Then this lady decides open all the meat boxes to see if I'm not stealing anything. I confront her, but no clear answer. I plan to call corporate with the individuals name as well as the managers name. Because I have never had a problem at any other store in my life where they don't scan a barcode without the physical card not being out. Costco does it and so does Sams club. I was recently racially profiled at the Chantilly store. I went to speak to the manager to express my concern with hopes it would be a training opportunity. Not so. I knocked on the door both Ian and the other AM looked up never acknowledged me. I knocked again and motion if I can entertain. Upon entering I explained what happened none of them moved, offered a correction action much less listen to my concern. I then asked for the store manager-I was given a card. I immediately upon arriving to my vehicle called and was told the manager is on vacation by the gentlemen who answered the phone on the reception area. I was transferred to Ian who again I explained his response I don't want to have a political conversation. Huh? So now I guess this location if you speak up on how something effects you it's political? This is unacceptable on so many level. I have never done a review but this has prompted me to do so. If it was possible to give zero star which would've been an accurate and adequate rating for the management team. read more

waited in line 20 minutes so someone in front of me could do 5 transactions with the cashier. Seemed like they knew the cashier or they spoke the same language so she let it slide which would have been fine with me if it wasn't really busy and if they didn't cut in front of me which they did. Plus when I said something she said "you're next so?" that is just horrible customer service and unacceptable standards. The prices at this company are going through the roof ! Besides there are shortages of many stable products. Example: Fry oil has gone from less than $20.00 for a five gallon tub to over $42.00. 2oz cooked sausage from $16.45 to Over $27:00, Hatfield Bacon at $71:00. Ground beef $3.81 per pound. Everything from dry goods to sauces are up to a point that I believe they are price Gouging, Other items are just missing from the shelves, They have only had grape single serve jelly for over 3 weeks, no canned Sauerkraut, did not have Colombian coffee for weeks, many soups are not available, multiple other items are always missing from the shelves. This is supposed to be a wholesale place to the restaurants but I'm finding out that many items are cheaper at Walmart for example Random untrimmed chicken breast as high as 2:28/ lb. vs. trimmed chicken breast at Walmart $1.78 / lb. Ground beef is also about .60 cents cheaper at Walmart. Soon I may have to look for another supplier! read more

recently i visited restaurant depot & several employees were not wearing masks. one even proceeded to get near me to ask me if i wanted help grabbing my boxes. why i would request help from a person not complying with mask orders is beyond me. i love this store, but they clearly do not care about their customers safety read more
