And the location is stunning! The service was just not good enough.. They had a full restaurant, and only 2 waiters on job.. if you're a city cafe or a bodega, I think 2 service personnel is far enough for this amount of people, but in a restaurant where they wish to tell you about the food etc., I don't think it's enough.. for example, they forgot my request for no nuts (allergy), we were 5 people and they served us 4 pieces of bread, and it was hard to get in contact with them.. When they were around and when we talked with them, they were always very friendly and competent - but I think it was a too busy evening for them.. The food, on the other hand, was well portioned, well prepared and the synergies were amazing! Different tastes, different experiences and different variation - but all very nicely together.. For the price (400kr ~ 60$) for the evening 3 courses tasting menu, I've absolutely no complaints.. Also, Denmark is in general an expensive country to eat in, so keep that in mind..

Friendly staff that are good at what they do (except two small incidents with two not-that-customer-friendly employees). The restaurant offers good food, great wine, nice atmosphere, and an amazing view. Hesselet is not totally over the top amazing. But it's a nice place to invite your significant other and spend a night or two. Just be prepared to pay 1000+ kr per person for a nice meal w. Wine in the restaurant and around 1400 kr per night.

I'm always sceptical when it comes buffets, I don't like the concept of fresh food being laid to simmer at low temperature for ages. But this restaurant was a pleasant surprise. Mind you, we arrived just before noon. So the restaurant had just opened and everything freshly made. The buffet is varied but with a solid deep-fry theme. There is also a varied selection of sushi. Being the King of Cake, I wish there was more dessert. Over all, I'm impressed with quality and selection, especially considering the low price, 12 €.
