Most diners were in jeans and a button shirt paying homage to the Chef's wishes to enjoy the food without any of the traditional formalities. And did I not mention SoulFood earned a well deserved 1 Michelin Star in 2022?!! So I definitely recommend the restaurant for a place in indulge without the stress of 'dressing for the occasion.' The tasting menu is seasonal and always changing, and one would be lucky to try the level of sophistication coming out from this kitchen. The dining area is relatively small and I believe they only sit one cover a night; so reservations are a MUST! We came with a party of four, and the tasting menu was at a relative bargain at $89 euros given that the tax and tip is include (although we did still tip a little more for the superb hospitality!). The tasting menu started a couple of amuse which only gets you mouth watering for the mains! All of courses displayed the essence of "NYC" uniqueness and cooked to perfection. We paired each course was an amazing selection of local wine that were less than $5 euros a pour, and these pours were HEAVY. There was added flare with the tableside presentations and Chef Laus greeted and served at least one dish to everyone in the restaurant! The menu is in Deutsch, but the staff speaks English and can translate fluently all the dishes on the menu! My first visit was back in 2012 and was impressed with service and quality of the meals. The prices are moderate, but can elevate if you select 3-4 course meals that are on the menu. Reservations are recommended due to the space, popularity and great selections on the menu card!
