I was promised a heavenly buffet by my parents. I'm usually very torn towards buffets. There's the thought "Yay, unlimited food, I am going to win this food contest." But there's also the fear of the food staying out too long, or being on constant warming so the texture is either sloggy or dry. Don't even get my started about lukewarm food. If it's not scolding hot, then don't even bother. The buffet offered 3 types of pickled herring, hard boiled eggs, different types of sallads, 2 entrees (fish or meat) in this case saithe with lobster sauce and hamburger patties with mushroom gravy (it is not really a hamburger, but I don't know the translation for Wallenbergare or Pannbiff) served with potatoes. There's also soup which I couldn't handle today since I had food coming out of my ears. For dessert there is a cheese table, fruits and danish.
I did enjoy it, and I didn't eat too much. I was fond of everything overall, but it wasn't any mind blowing experiance. It is not cheap here so I expected something extravagant. Perhaps the US changed my palate too much, because I think that I would have loved it 2 years ago, but now all I can say: it was nice.
Ps. the service was not up to my standards. They were children, seasonal workers? No manners. Only Ros-Marie was good enough. read more
