The rating is so low because whole the food was good: interesting combinations done competently, the service pretty much ruined the food and left a bad aftertaste so I will never go back nor recommend this place. First of all, it is on Avenyn, a place known for people who want to meet and have a festive time and ready to pay a little more. It also draws alot of tourists as it is advertised as the parade street of the city. So when I saw the prices, well double at other "cozy, casual" Italian places in the city, I thought, "OK I am paying for hopefully good food and the ambience" Also this was our first meal out since returning home after being away a year and we do love Swedish pizza over American. When we walked in, on time, we were told we had the table until 8pm. No problem. To get in they have the receptionist table blocking and very narrow to pass to our table with staff standing in front chatting. We couldn't get past them to our table. The hostess told us, you're blocking the way for others to come in and get seated. The staff, 3 of them looked at us and continued to chat not moving. So we squeezed past and sat down. We ordered drinks and food and enjoyed talking with each other catching up on a year. The food arrived and was tasty but when we were reaching the end of our meal, our waitress never asked how our meal was or if we wanted anything else, never smiled, was quite unfriendly if you compare how they describe themselves. We did not order dessert and were sitting and talking, when a fat woman came up and told us quite rudely that she knows we were told we had to leave by 8. We looked up, she was visibly annoyed and giving off Karen vibes and judging by her flowered dress we could tell she worked there but didn't know if she was the chef or manager. We looked at our watch, it was 730pm. We said yes, we were aware and it wasn't going to be a problem. She then made it a point to come past us from 3 different directions giving us stink eye and making faces and noises as she went past. The waitress had not been seen or asked if we wanted the bill. We hadn't paid. So it is kind of hard to leave when you haven't paid. After about 20 minutes we flagged her down, asked for the bill, paid and left. Again, no smile, no thank you, no come again. I have to add that there were empty tables and no line out the door...so no need for us to be rushed out of there. I think they should change their description on their website, or do training but it really ruins a dining experience when you knowingly pay extra for ordinary food and get treated like a dirty peasant by the staff. So that's a big L, Bellora!

Awesome cozy atmosphere, fun brunch, and interesting food…read more We went here with the intent of going to the drag brunch, however were confused as to how to reserve a place for that so ended up just being seated in the brunch area- but they do have drag bingo brunch. They have a deal where you pick three dishes and that they serve small bites. We each ordered three dishes and I ordered their Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary was great! The food was hit or miss, some were great and delicious, some was a bit simple. The service was a bit slow but super friendly, and the atmosphere stared to liven up during the morning brunch crowds. Our favorite were the fried potatoes and fried mushrooms . Might be a good option if you're around for brunch!

We wondered across the street and stumbled upon Franco Bruno, a small pizza shop with two tables outside. This was one of the best meals I have ever had and the best pizza I have ever had. The owner of the restaurant took great care of us and went above and beyond. All of the staff was extremely friendly And we were very impressed. They had only been open two weeks, but it was as if they had been making pizza for a century. I am excited to see how this business will grow because their food is second to none.

Fantastic dinner with amazing Italian food…read more I had the steak tartare with truffles. They were generous with the truffles. Delicious. Then the pork, beautifully prepared with a rich pork flavor. Finally blackberry ice cream for dessert. Among the three of us we polished off every plate eagerly and happily. The restaurant clearly hosts locals regularly as many were recognized by face with their name and "usual table". Dogs were welcome. Additionally reservations seem like a must. We got very lucky a table was open but people after us were not as lucky.

It was a bit of a trek from my hotel, but an enjoyable walk nonetheless. Upon arriving, the place was busy, but we managed to snag a table outside. Although the inside looked very cozy, I was happy to sit out in the cool evening air. We were given menus, and our server told us the specials. We ordered beers for now, but planned on ordering wine with dinner. Asking the server for his recommendations, we decided to share the Garlic Gratinated Langoustines. For mains, I ordered the Fish au Gratin, as he said they were known for the dish, and my dining partner ordered the Catch of the Day, Cod Loin. We received our beers and then ordered a nice bottle of white to be served with dinner. They brought the langoustines, and they were absolutely incredible! Fresh and large, and tasty! We were also brought some yummy bread and butter. Our mains arrived and boy, was he right- the Fish au Gratin was absolutely delicious, the sauce creamy and not overwhelming the fish. The wine paired perfectly, and we enjoyed our dinners immensely. We ordered one dessert to share, as well as a glass of port wine. The dessert was odd; it had a cucumber taste to it, not a fan, but hey, it's nice to try new things. Overall, this was one of my favorite meals in Gothenburg, the restaurant was great as was the old town neighborhood of Haga. Highly recommended!

The Elderflower Southside is such a fresh, fruity, and light drink. We were already off to a great start. Both appetizers we got were good but not too memorable; still great for sharing with your table. The main winner here was the Beef Sirloin! It was cooked to a perfect medium and had a nice char crust on the outside. They did an incredible job with preparing it and the side dishes just hit the spot. I loved the fresh tomato & onion salad and the addicting house-made French fries. I just couldn't get enough especially with the béarnaise sauce. The dessert was not your typical bread pudding; it's much lighter and softer. If you dine at Dinner22, definitely get something off their meat menu! You will be happy you did.

When I arrived at around 7 pm on Thursday, I pretty much got lucky scoring the last table left without the reservation. Decided to go with a fixed dinner menu, containing appetizer, entree, and dessert. There was also recommended wine selection, so I discussed it with the server, and he suggested that if I don't want to drink dessert wine, I would be better off just getting wine pairing for the first two dishes. Perfect. The first wine was Pinot Noir from New Zealand, and the first dish was deer Carpaccio. Both were excellent in its own right - good wine, tasty dish, the pairing worked together. Second wine poured was California Ghost Pines Chardonnay, which by the glass costs there as a whole bottle back in the USA. Okay, but then this is a mediocre wine, and while the cod was made very well, the pairing really didn't work. The dessert was advertised as chocolate ganache or so, but the actual dish had a large serving of the gelato in a middle, with tiny mounds of chocolate around. The most captive part of the dish was some chewy candy bits on top of the ice cream, in appearance resembling the salmon caviar, but an overall combination with gelato was excellent. Each chocolate mound had a piece of caramel inserted into it, which was really annoying as it was getting stuck to the teeth. So far the food was good, the wines were okay and not, but the worst part was service. Got half a glass of water poured, no pitcher left as on all other tables had to flag someone down to get more water despite sitting across from the bar where someone was constantly at. Nobody really cared if/how I liked the food etc., which, considering the food prices in Sweden was rather annoying. So we have food at 4.5, wines at 3 and service at 3. All in all, you decide if you want to eat there or not.

I don't know. I just love this place. The very respectable "Nöjesguiden" seems to agree with me and just named this restaurant one of the 5 best new restaurants in Gothenburg! Prices are a bit much just for one dish and the dishes are not that big. The waitress told me that you have to order two dishes plus the extra to make sure you don't go hungry. Again the price was too much for all of that, maybe their lunch prices are reasonable. The restaurant's interior is cool and trendy and some of their furniture is simply wooden benches and table; the ones you find when you stop for a coffee break on a long drive, so an entire group can sit together which is a good idea! Although not sure how comfortable it is. I can't motivate myself to give them 3 stars even if everything is new, trendy, there are new dishes and friendly staff. I feel it will be difficult to compete with the other Asian restaurants in the same area.
