We randomly picked this restaurant for dinner and were not disappointed in our choice. We showed up a bit after six. They were already busy but showed my wife, mom, and me to a table right away. But just a heads up, by the time we left a couple of hours later, they were packed and had a line out of the door. We shared some Italian olives as a starter. They were fantastic! My mother had an individual sized pizza, my wife had risotto, and I had a pasta dish with pork belly, cheese, and tomato sauce. We all really enjoyed our main courses. The portions were honestly large enough to share. The atmosphere was good and the place had a buzz about it. I definitely recommend dining there. read more

Hard to get a table. Definitely call ahead and reserve. Although we had a reservation we still had to wait in an awkward waiting area by the bar, but for only 5 min. No biggie. White table cloths, lively waiter, good menu and extensive wine list. We all ordered pizza. Mine was GF. Really good, no complaints. Food arrived relatively fast. Very cute and cosy little Italian spot in the middle of town. We ordered takeout from here one night and it was perfect. I ordered via phone and it was ready in no more than 20 minutes. I waited while in the entrance and the servers were super polite while they dealt with a big rush of customers. It was a Saturday night and they had many people coming in and asking for tables and they turned people away or told them wait times. We ordered pasta, one spaghetti and one rigatoni. The spaghetti was good and classic, but the rigatoni was the 5 stars, it was super delicious and the reason we'd go back. read more

The food was amazing. The only thing better than smelling amazing food, is eating food that taste even better than it smells. Well today we had that experience. My wife and I showed up with no reservations, so the owner offered to work us in if we could wait a few min. Luckily we sat at the window bar for maybe 5 min, as we were able to catch all the extraordinary smells and lovely food being brought out to customers. This is what I would call a champagne problem, getting a mouth watering sneak preview of what lies ahead. Everything we ordered, from the Truffle Parpadelle Pasta, to the Burrata & Prosciutto pizza, to the the fresh salad with figs, parmesan crisp, Mozzarella and smoke ham - topped off with a beautifully reduced aged balsamic and a delightful extra virgin olive oil. Every bite was an explosion of flavortown! We washed it all down with a couple glasses of lovely Italian reds (definitely not a stingy pour). What a treat This place was. It had an international flair with folks from all over the world. This American couple really loved Magazzino. We will definitely be back! read more

Mysig atmosfär i restaurangen, väldigt god mat, härlig musik och trevlig servitör. Men tyvärr får Magazzino det sämsta betyget baserat på ägarens beteende gentemot mig och min sambo. Uppkäftig, stressad, pratar strunt om andra restauranger tvärs över gatan samt väldigt otrevlig attityd/ton. Är man ett par som är ute efter väldigt god mat från en mysig restaurang men samtidigt vill uppleva känslan av en uppkäftig restaurangägare som får en att vilja få upp maten som man precis avnjutit; välkommen till Magazzino. Helheten förstördes tyvärr på grund utav att ägaren blev uppkäftig och stressad när vi skulle bege oss från restaurangen. Vi ville inte bege oss från restaurangen, men vi fick tyvärr inte vara kvar då andra gäster skulle få avnjuta den goda maten på vårat bord. Under knappt 90 minuter hann vi med fördrinkar, några förrätter samt varmrätter men tyvärr ingen dessert då ägaren bad oss lämna restaurangen med anledning av att andra gäster skulle ha vårat bord på en gång. Vi fick ingen förvarning att vi enbart fick sitta i absolut maximalt 90 minuter. Självklart förstår vi att maten skall avnjutas av fler än bara oss, men sättet hur man talar till sina gäster och hur man sedan slänger ut dem från restaurangen är under all kritik på restaurang Magazzino. Vi bad om ursäkt och började runda av, utan några invändningar. Men knappt en minut senare kom ägaren tillbaka mer stressad än tidigare och slängde min rock som satt på min stol, åt sidan utan att be om ursäkt eller be mig flytta rocken för att han behövt stolen till en annan gäst. När vi senare vid utgången ville tacka för besöket och den väldigt goda maten så ville jag flika in med att han kan vara lite försiktig med gästers tillhörigheter, då det kan finnas ömtåliga saker som kanske inte skall kastas hur som helst. Jag framförde också att det inte var vår mening att sitta "för länge", men att han inte behövde ha en nedlåtande ton mot oss. Istället för att ta emot kritiken som fått oss att reagera på ett annars supertrevligt besök och god mat, så började ägaren att slänga ut massvis med nedlåtande meningar som: vem tror du att du är, tror du att du kan komma hit och säga åt mig hur jag skall vara, du vet absolut inte hur man skall bete sig i en restaurang speciellt när du hänger din rock på stolen, det du säger stämmer inte alls! Maten är väldigt god men vi kan tyvärr inte rekommendera Magazzino på grund utav hur ägaren betedde sig mot oss. read more

As a self-proclaimed New Yawker pizza snob, I'm telling you this little Italian spot is legit! Seriously good sourdough pizza that proofs for 2 days before it's ready...we got the low down from the oh-so friendly Italian owner who proudly showed us a glimpse of his 'pizza lab' downstairs. Went with namesake pie which consists of rocket salad (arugula) & prosciutto with super sweet tomatoes making up their red sauce, which I highly recommend! read more

So we're two tourists looking to have some good food and we were directed to this gem of a restaurant by one of the locals! Man, this was one of the best pizzas I've ever tasted! Cannot rate this place highly enough. The owner was extremely accommodating (we called at 6pm on a Saturday night and he was able to get us a reservation for 2 at 7), and even though it was packed, the service was excellent. The pizza was phenomenal--fresh, authentic, and a great selection of choices (including several interesting vegetarian ones). This might be one of my favorite pizza places ever--including ones I've been to in Italy. I take it as a good sign that a number of Italian guests were there too. read more

Great find. Was recommended by the front desk at the hotel we stayed at (Royal - also a great place), told us we would like the place and we could not have agreed more. We did not eat here until our last night in the city, wish we would have been staying longer so we could have gone back. Did the three course meal, and everything was fantastic. The appetizers were excellent, my wife had the meat and cheese tray and I had the bruschetta. Both were put together flawlessly, they tasted as good as they looked. Hands down the best pizza in Gothenburg and probably one of the best in Sweden. Two real Italian pizaiolo make them with flour from Naples so this is the real thing. Pasta on the other hand is not even close to be the same quality as pizza so don't bother with that, try something else. We found this Italian restaurant along Magazine lane in Gothenburg. It was a great find among a plethora of restaurants of all different food. The staff were friendly and very nice.
