This has got to be the scariest rest stop ever. The trees rub against the buildings, and it is always so windy that it sounds like you are going to die from a tree crashing through the building, but it doesn't. The bathrooms are clean and stocked with toiletries. I love how they honor the people who have passed away on the job... rest in peace, good people. I do not like how the women's bathroom is so far in the back that I am not sure I feel safe. I don't know what it looks like at night. Let me tell you.... I literally had to fight my car door to get it to open it was so windy. We only pulled over because the wind almost blew my little Prius over. I am glad this rest stop was here because I was having a major panic attack! Thank you to the people who keep it clean and stocked!

Any open rest stop is a good thing. Rest rooms are clean and the area is clean.. needs an update restrooms.. just I case the first ones are full keep driving and there is another set. Today when we stopped there was a fruit guy it was a little windy here maybe that's why they have the windmills

I am now seeing a trend. This is my second California rest area along I-10 and like Cactus City https://www.yelp.com/biz/cactus-city-rest-area-chuckwalla?hrid=fCV9FEQVZpXsLRIVdaEN6A, this one is awful. While there is a nice curve to get people to slow down and the auto parking area is a bit set back from the highway, it is still quite noisy with loud motorcycles and trucks going past on the road. There is no shade. And the toilet is just as disgusting. I don't know what's happened since the other reviewers had a positive experience. Not me. This is terrible. Decent Rest Area going East on Highway I-10 into the Coachella Valley. This side is newer than the all tiny pink tiled Mid-Century Modern Rest Area going West on the other side of the Highway. Clean bathrooms, and all were open and functional. It was pouring rain, so not too many people around, and there was plenty of parking close in to the Rest Area.

This rest stop is always a dirty disaster when I have stopped here. Not sure when it gets cleaned but it always seems due for it

Tons of parking, and a great view of the mountains from the parking lot. They even have a cool art display on one wall outside by the bathrooms for photo opportunities. The center itself is not large, and is filled with your typical T-shirts, sweatshirts, books, Christmas ornaments, etc. We did pick up a really cool Palm Springs Christmas ornament that was very unique and I didn't see anything like it when shopping downtown. The people at the desk have a large map that they draw on to show you how to get to certain places as they were giving us information which was helpful. I did buy a map that showed homes of past celebrities such as Doris Day, Elvis, etc. We did try to drive around and identify some of these homes, but it's not as easy as you would think. House numbers are not very apparent, and some of these streets are quite narrow, and with traffic behind you, you don't really have the opportunity to go slow and or stop to look. So we eventually gave up and just drove around to observe the unique architecture ourselves. I would say this is definitely worth a quick stop!

Sufficient parking, even on a weekend, with EV charging stations available. Views of the San Jacinto Mountains from the parking area. Outdoor rest rooms available without having to go into the Visitor Center. A few outside photo opps. Architecturally-interesting building. It was apparently a former gas station but, with its update, has the feel of a mid-century modern building. *Interior. (1) There were two manned information desks, with friendly and somewhat helpful staff who offered maps and recommendations of things to see and do in PS. The young man who helped us pulled out a map that had PS proper on one side, and the greater PS (to Coachella) area on the back. He went through a seemingly rehearsed spiel about what we should see/do without first ascertaining what type of activities we were interested in. It was helpful that he informed us that VillageFest, a weekly downtown event with artists, artisans, entertainers, food vendors, and more, would not be held that week because of Thanksgiving. But, we were disappointed that he couldn't answer some of our basic questions about the San Jacinto National Monument area. Also, in asking if the Visitor Center had a map for a self-guided walking tour of attractions, we were directed to a brochure of (paid) walking tours offered by the local historical society. (2) There was a separate desk run by the Agra Caliente Band of Cohuilla Indians, offering tickets that allowed access to hikes in their ancestral lands, including Indian Canyons and/or Tahquitz Canyon. The woman at the desk was very friendly and helpful, and we bought tickets for Indian Garden (valid for one year). Tickets are normally $12 (adults) and $7 (seniors 62+), but a $1/ticket discount is given if purchased at the visitor center. (3) there is a small gift shop with books, maps, and souvenirs. (4) locally-relevant exhibits and brochures to local attractions.

This rest area has a lot of potential to be really wonderful, with its amenities, a nice park like atmosphere, and an ocean view. Outside, there is a place where you can buy drinks, and there is also plenty of parking. Inside, it is quite clean for a public restroom facility. It's just a simple stop along the way, but it's comfortable enough when you need a break on the road.

Although these are more abundant in other parts of the country than the state of California; some of these roadside angels pop up here and there. The distance between Los Angeles and San Diego may not be exorbitantly long but I am in the, "I drink a lot of water" - camp and needed to use the rest room plus walk around. I was getting quite cranky and testing my boyfriend's patience but luckily the Aliso Creek Rest Area came to the rescue. The Aliso Creek Rest Area sits on the southbound side of the I-5 freeway near Oceanside/Aliso Viejo and welcomes road warriors with a large parking lot, grassy knolls, several bathroom buildings (I mean 'severa'l!) and concession snack outposts. But this isn't your typical rest stop, folks. This place is nnnniiicccee! The Aliso Creek Rest Area is shockingly clean: this isn't a rest stop out of a horror movie and instead delights bycombining nature with architecture. Trees, brights flowers/vines and plants are found plenty at the Aliso Creek Rest Area with a soundtrack of Starling birds singing/chirping their impressive vocal ranges bringing peace and serenity to your drive. What looks like hundreds of ground squirrels roam free with no fear of humans and happily accept food out of your hands (I fed one ground squirrel plenty of almonds which he/she happily shoved inside cheeks) and some parking sea gulls also try try their luck at snagging lunch. The Aliso Creek Rest Area is rejuvenating to the soul.  I have a weird fear of public bathrooms/toilets (well, toilets in general but this is not a therapy session) and the beautiful Spanish architectural style buildings at the Aliso Creek Rest Area are straight out of Architecture Digest while the bathrooms are clean and well stocked. I generally hate public bathrooms and expected roadside restrooms to be terrifying but these weren't bad at all! Trust me if I approve - it means something!  Looking for a snack or to feed those squirrels? The Aliso Creek Rest Area features several vending machines with dry snacks (chips, nuts, cookies, candy/chocolate), a sandwich machine (not sure if I trust that, though) and of course beverage machines with water, soda, Gatorade and coconut water; accepting both cash and card. My only complaint is that these machines need some healthier options and gluten free snacks for us Celiac folks. The closest thing were almonds and granola bars and it would be nice to have other options but I suppose I am expecting too much from a rest stop. The Aliso Creek Rest Area is a clean and inviting rest stop offering bathrooms, snacks and a nature respite to refresh and get you back on the road while in between Los Angeles and San Diego. Check it out for yourself next time you are on the I-5 southbound!

I especially want to thank Lexy at Radiance Salon for the special care and attention she gave me when she cut my hair. She was very kind and was a big part of what kept me going. I realize that most who stay here may not be doing it for the same reasons but I think it's worth mentioning that this is the kind of place you can go to just to relax and take a break from whatever it is that you need to get space from on the outside. Also Pink Coffee was especially good and I would be thrilled to find a location on the east coast (and the workers at the cafe were also very nice to speak with). Thanks, Andrew

Employee who helped us at the Registration desk was polite-gentlemen assisting at the line to be sure we know we had to have ID and Player's card, so we wouldn't be dissappointed when we go to the front of the line. Then, there was another very long line to go up the escalator to the Ball Room. That was organized well, alternating two lines for those using the escalator-staff making sure some patrons do not cut in line. At Ball Room we go to our assigned table. Table number display could have been on 4 sides, so that when you step away it would be easier to find your table when you return: then there are 2 more long lines for the Buffet, which is set up in the area outside of the dining room. I didn't notice the seafood area, which was a distance from the main Buffet line. Another line for ham and prime rib. Inside the ballroom drinks and desserts only are available. We got two plates because we didn't want to stand in line again. Entertainment by Jon B.-loud, loud...singing/music. Majority of the 'mothers were over 50' that I noticed. It was difficult to have a conversation with those at the table. I visually counted about 5 tables with no guests on our side of the room. Comparing to my experience at Soboba's Mothers Day event, this event could have been more organized. As for the food-I liked the salmon, scrambled eggs and desserts.
