After recently losing my father I used Allens funeral directors to take care of the funeral…read morearrangements, I could not have chosen better, the director I dealt with was absolutely superb in every way, he was soft of voice and had a very calming nature making myself and family very at ease. He helped by listening to what we wanted and by advising every step of the way. I cannot fault the company for any part of their service. I cannot say enough good things about them, I would recommend to anyone who had to deal with that unfortunate circumstance. It was the first time I had got to do anything like that and the people around you can make a difference and Allens certainly helped me deal with my loss and the events the followed that I had to organise. If I should ever find myself needing to use the services of a funeral director in the future I would never use anyone else.

on the morning of the appointment which was at 10am they rang at 9.45 to say their lady who I was…read moremeeting was stuck on the motorway. They said they would keep me updated and said I would wait in for her to arrive and they rang and said she had turned back instead of waiting on the motorway but never said she was never going to turn up. I waited till 12.15 and was asked to make another appointment and told them I was not going to be let down again and will take my business elsewhere. It was a pitiful excuse and so glad I didn't pay for a funeral with them.

In July I was told October, in October I was told November, in November I was told "before xmas" I had to ring the company in Worksop who does the engraving myself to find out if it had been done!! Here I am 6 days until Christmas and still waiting. Yes it was fully paid off months ago. Absolute a joke how this business is run, no communication at all and have a monopoly with the church yard. Sadly I had the same issue with my Grandad 9 years ago. Do not recommend at all, avoid at all costs.
