I decided I needed to take a CPR class before the baby comes, and I needed to get it out of the way…read morebefore I get too big to do all the practice stuff on the dummies. I'm so glad I took the time to do it, and Red Cross was definitely the right choice for me. I recruited my sister and sister-in-law to go with me, since they had both mentioned they'd be interested. We took Adult and Pediatric CPR and First Aid. It was $110, and it took about 4 hours online, which you had to complete before going to the two hour evening class. I grumbled about how long the online portion took, but in the end, I realized I learned a lot from those simulations and I felt very prepared for the classroom portion. Our teacher, Vertina, was just the right mix of helpful and funny, and she really knew her stuff. This is one of those things you hope you'll never need to use, but it still provides a lot of peace of mind. If you do it, I definitely recommend doing it with friends.

All the instructors I have ever met have been very knowledgeable and informative and kept the training easy, casual and comfortable. Hopefully you'll never need to use what you learn here, but in the event that you do, you can make a huge difference in the life of others.
