I also received aftercare at the Renton facility...needless to say I no longer receive care there and transferred to a MUCH better facility that has humility, is personable and ACTUALLY cares for their patients and not just the money. Lakeside doesn't call unless they're looking for a payment. You won't hear from your counselor unless you miss a payment. It's unfortunate that humility is a great message that is taught there but they don't even show it as an establishment themselves..

She was discharged that evening. Thankfully, I was guarded by several patients and a few staff. Soon after, all the staff dispersed and while still guarded the patient came back! Fortunately, she was only verbally assaulting me and didn't try attacking me again. After she had left the facility I was checked on by staff and assured she had been removed and I was in no way at fault. My case manager had come to check on me, who should have been home by 1030 pm. The next day i was told I was being discharged due to "antagonizing" the patient. I have MANY witnesses who strongly disagree. After being told of the unwarranted discharge, where I was unprotected, Renee, who is in charge of ?? tried to upsell their IOP program! They called my family to let them know, packed my belongings immediately, which I could not access including my phone, and while on their house phone frantically trying to get a ride, I was told I had met my 5 minute phone time elimit. I was extremely vulnerable due to my years of addiction and alcoholism, and in shock that they would do this to a patient under their care! Needless to say, I went out w many choice words. If you need help w addiction and you love your family STAY FAR AWAY FROM HERE.

Newport saved our daughter and set our family on a stable path to recovery…read more Last fall we were losing our daughter to mental health challenges, PTSD and increasingly unsafe behaviors. It took 3 tries to get her to commit to Newport, but after the first few weeks of adjustment, she made more therapeutic progress with the team at Newport than in all of the other interventions we've tried to date (years of CBT therapy, DBT skills, and peer groups) . We are now 3 months out from her discharge and we still have moments of stress but Newport put us back on the same team in terms of addressing challenges together and we have been super impressed with how our 15yo is using skills to navigate the tough moments. We are extremely grateful to the Newport team for everything they did to get through to our child and earn her trust in their process.

I called and the sales pitch had me and my child excited that we had found the perfect place for her to get the therapy she needs. The process was pretty fast, about a week. Drove 4 hours and said our goodbyes. They are allowed 10 minute phone call a day. First call: the room was dirty, dirty sheets, tampons stuck to the ceiling and shredded all over the room. I called. No one called back. I emailed. No response. Waited 9 hours and called again. Got called back and told the room is clean now. Biohazard concern from a parent takes 9 hours titi respond to? Second phone call: haven't seen the therapist (they claim daily therapy). Haven't gone outside(they claim activities and nature), "it's dirty and smells like ass and shrimp in here." It's 4 girls to a room not 2. The other girls are 13 (versus mine being 17). "These girls are nasty, bragging about sleeping with 17 men, some at the same time, some old men. No one wants to be here. They tell us they have custody now and our parents can't come get us. I'm ok." Day 5: "I can't take this anymore. I haven't seen a therapist, I haven't been outside, they just make us sit in a room all day doing nothing. This is torture, I'm not even allowed to talk about addiction, this isn't a drug rehab. They don't even have all these activities they claimed, there's no horses, we aren't even allowed to go outside, we have to keep the door open while undressing and 90% of the cc's are men. The other girls said they won't let you take me even if you try, one girls mom has been trying for 5 days. They treat us like we are inmates not clients. This place is nothing like they claimed." Broken, barely able to talk or breath through the crying, I knew my daughter had given it a real chance and they had failed her miserably. She WANTED help. She didn't deserve this. I told her I would drive up and get her. She was convinced they had custody of her and wouldn't let her leave. They told her this. I confronted them about this and the college student intern girl they had in charge said, "well we do have custody, to sign for like activities". BIG DIFFERENCE CHICA! I don't know how many times I tried to get a hold of her "therapist/ point of contact" in that 5 days, but it was enough to paint a really clear picture that "Kari" doesn't have one single ounce of care to give. This was kirkland BTW. Can't wait to get the bill! My insurance isn't going to cover this, because I removed her "against medical advice", which is a joke because they never bothered to get around to doing anything expert, just filling out all their paperwork. I read the reviews and I gave this place a chance. Big mistake. Giving them a chance set us back. There's not many options for under 18. I'm sure I'll be getting a $10k bill from this fake rehab. They straight up lied to me and told me they do substance abuse as well as mental health. I had a dark bad feeling by day 2. It's like the entire vibe changed, like they "got us" and no longer had to put on the happy caring act. I would recommend NOT trusting them. I don't know how they are even getting away with this money scheme. As I was waiting to take my kid out another stressed out looking mom was bringing her kid in! They made sure to seperate us, putting me in a room in the back. I have a feeling this is just what they do: get people to sign and then the truth surfaces and then change the parents $2000 a day, if they figure out it and care about their kid enough to come get them. Otherwise, the kid has to ride out the torture so that insurance will cover it. I watch crime radar, 2 calls to that place in that 5 days, 2 seperate incidents of suicide attempts. I can see why. Works in Newports favor to trick parents and push these kids over the edge.

Never felt like a real person there. There were some good people there, but most were there for the job, not a passion you would need to work here. This place really changed me, not for the good. There was a woman who screamed day and night, so I slept with ear plugs and white noise just to drown out her screaming. There are so many things that for me were bad, like being ignored by the staff, when it would be nice for a hello. Don't even think about going there for therapy.

Based on our experience, I strongly…read moreadvise against placing any loved one in this facility--especially if they require memory care, are incontinent, or cannot advocate for themselves. From the outset, the facility had a pervasive odor of urine and uncleanliness, comparable to a soiled litter box. This was not an isolated incident; I visited daily and consistently encountered this issue, which I have not experienced at other facilities. Due to my father's insurance and financial limitations, our options were restricted. In hindsight, I regret not choosing the alternative facility. Communication with staff was extremely difficult. Phone calls often went unanswered, and when they were, staff were unable to provide basic information. Despite multiple requests, I was never able to speak with a physician regarding my father's care. I was repeatedly told they were "too busy." The social services team was disorganized and unresponsive. They frequently confused patients and failed to follow up on critical matters. On one occasion, despite confirming with three staff members that my father would be ready for a medical appointment, I arrived to find him heavily sedated and unprepared. According to the facility's own records, my father was not bathed for the entire month of January. This was discovered by his state caseworker. I recommend that all families request and review their loved one's records. Many of my father's labeled clothing items went missing. He was often left in soiled clothing for extended periods--once for three consecutive days. He developed unexplained bruises, and staff admitted he had not been checked on for hours prior to reported falls. He required supervision during meals, yet I frequently found him alone, staring at his food. Staff were often seen using their phones and socializing while call lights went unanswered. The facility experienced repeated COVID outbreaks, yet cleanliness and ventilation appeared neglected. On the day of his discharge to an adult family home, my father was so heavily sedated he could not speak. As his Power of Attorney, I had explicitly instructed that no medications be administered without my consent. This directive was ignored, and staff were unable to tell me what medications had been given. Upon arrival at the new facility, staff immediately noted hygiene concerns, including multiple sores likely caused by improper care. This facility requires a thorough investigation by state authorities--particularly regarding hygiene, staffing, and medical oversight. I am relieved my father is now in a safe, respectful environment where he is treated with dignity. To the management of Life Care Center: I am not interested in a generic response. I have attempted to raise these concerns through proper channels without resolution.
