Palatine Hill. The Jewish Quarter. The Colosseum. Booked three rooms. Each was quite unique. The largest of the rooms had a separate living room with a pull out couch. The other two rooms had a nice oversized tub and a small seating area for breakfast. Great front desk staff. Karen and Dima were so gracious. Karen brought us a tray of pastries and cappuccinos after a long overseas flight. Dima helped with luggage, ordering taxis and early breakfast before a visit to the Vatican. The lobby has glass jars filled with biscottis, multicolored marshmallows and hard candies. So fun! This was the best in room breakfast that we had in Rome. What a great assortment of fresh vegetables and fruits, hard boiled eggs, sliced cheese, breakfast rolls, pastries and yogurt. Fresh juice, hot tea, and cappuccino were perfect to start off a day of exploring Rome. Our booking also included a taxi from Leonardo da Vinci Airport to the hotel which was great. The taxi service tracked our flight and we were able to get another taxi when we were delayed. Although there is an elevator, not all rooms are accessible. As this is an older building, there are lots of stairs that spiral around the staircase and also stairs to the rooms. Great guesthouse/hotel stay. Highly recommended and hope to return one day.

The morning after we arrived, we walked to the Vatican/Holy See and then walked to the Piazza Navona, the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, and many great neighborhoods and restaurants. We arrived via the prearranged driver and limo van, which the property offered us. At 40 euro, it represented a great bargain (the cheapest alternative we found was $168 USD), and the driver was professional and helpful. We had a long wait for the manager/owner of the property to show up, which gave us a time to scope out the neighborhood. We finally were able to check-in, get our stuff situated in the room, and go out and walk around. The complaints would be the street noise, and the hardness of the beds - if you're used to hard bedding, and have earplugs, you'll do fine. We also had to leave suddenly, as new tourists were arriving to stay, even though we had indicated to the manager/owner that we needed a place to put our luggage while we toured the coliseum. The breakfast is worth noting, because it is great. The property gives you passes to a local cafe, which had very friendly great service, good coffee, and delicious food. My favorite "perk" of staying here was the printed color map of the area and the recommendations of the property of what to see, do and where to eat. That was really fantastic and we kept that in our pocket everywhere we went. Since Wifi and cell service in and out of buildings was spotty, having a paper map was great. The restaurants in the immediate area of the location are great, and Trastevere is known for having fun and delicious restaurants and is a wonderful neighborhood to explore and enjoy. Overall, this was a solid choice to stay at if you are looking for a great alternative to hotels.

They had positive attitudes and were very patient with us when we had questions about the menu. They even gave us a complimentary glass of sangria because of confusion about where they had seated us. The interior was stunning as well. It was very elegant and clean. Now let's talk about the delicious food. I had the Arrosto di vitella abrasata con creme di pátate which in English is Braised veal roast with mashed potatoes. The veal was absolutely delicious. The veal was so tender it melted in your mouth. The mashed potatoes underneath the veal are a perfect combination. The mashed potatoes were so creamy and well seasoned. The price is 22 euros. I also tried the Tonnarelli Amatriciana, which is Tonnarelli, tomato, Bacon, Pecorino Romano, and Black Pepper. The pasta was handmade in house. It was well seasoned. That will cost you 16 euros. The wine was delicious, we had a bottle of Chianti 'La Boncia', a good wine from Tuscany.

Once seated, we didn't have much of a view due to the patio cover unfortunately. Anyways, we ordered a drink just to rest up a bit. I had a glass of House White Wine (€8) while the husband had a Jack & Coke (€13). Note if you're an American coming to Italy, the Coke is separate, so it gets quite pricey. They did offer some chips with her drinks, which was nice though. Otherwise, nothing all too special here besides the view of you do get a table.

The hotel is near many streets with loads of great restaurants, shops and coffee bars. It is directly across the street from the Seneto or Senate so there is a good police presence for added tourist safety. The rooms were very clean, wide and bright. They offered a free mini bar, free breakfast, AC, Internet TVs and all the upscale amenities. We LOVED IT! The hotel staff was very friendly, helpful, and caring. They all spoke perfect English as well. They helped with recommendations for dinner and set up transportation arrangements for a cruise transfer after. (Of course, at our cost) but it was nice to have them set up a private van to take us. This place is a 6 stars out of 5 stars . It exceeded all expectations. We highly recommend this property for a Rome stay.

Just 30 minutes by train from Fiumcino, Trastevere is the perfect neighborhood to stay in when in Rome. It has great restaurants that aren't too touristy, a team that goes right into the heart of historic Rome, a few sweet tourist sights of its own, and it felt very safe. Rhea Silvia is small, only three rooms in a condo building. The rooms are beautifully appointed with comfortable beds with great sheets, a minibar with free water and soda, a Nespresso machine, large flat-screen television, and a very fancy bathroom with a chroma therapy shower. Guiseppe, the owner, made sure we got settled in, and even left us small treats (a bottle of wine, fresh fruit) each night with a handwritten note. There was a great cafe around the corner where we were able to enjoy a complimentary breakfast of fresh squeezed juice, cappuccino, and pastry each day. All of this, and we still paid less than 100 euro a night. Rhea Silvia felt like home away from home, and we will definitely have it at the top of our list for our next visit to Rome.
