We celebrated our wedding anniversary and the staff was super kind in surprising us with REAL rose petals in our room and a bottle of Chianti wine, and a kind hand written note. It was super romantic! I love when hotels do things like this for their guests. Our room was spacious and beautiful! LOCATION: couldn't be any better and the main reason why we picked this hotel! Highly recommend! We were within walking distance of the Duomo, about 10-12 minute walk to the Florence train station which also just happened to be the meet up spot for a couple of our tours, so that was a nice surprise! Also within walking distance of the famous Ponte Vecchio (Vecchio Bridge). We must've crossed it a dozen times during our stay. We never needed to take public transportation as everything was walkable. We did take a bus just for fun b/c it looked so cute and small! FOOD: We did breakfast 1 of the mornings at like 25 euros/person but the guy was nice and gave it to us for 22 euros b/c I guess we booked it the day before or i was asking too many questions about their breakfast lol. It was a buffet spread and quite generous. If you're not in a rush in the mornings, this is a nice option. You can dine indoors at the hotel or at their sister building around the corner that has 1. a rooftop! 2. indoor seating with windows, and more spacious. It was a bit chilly that morning so we went to the sister bldg and did option 2. It was calm and relaxing. Our room was replenished daily with a water (the fancy one in glass). About a block from the hotel, there was a large market space during the day for leather goods. and at night, that area converted into a music scene b/c of the dome thing that has nice acoustics. You could hear the beautiful music from the hotel if you opened your window at night. It was kind of our daily evening thing after dinner to stroll by there and watch the live music that always drew a crowd! We saw different groups every evening. it was SO nice!!! My only thing is on our last night, I asked the front desk girl if she could book us a taxi for the next morning at 630AM to take us to the airport. She wasn't the friendliest when we'd see her, and I'd think, oh great..she's there...whenever I saw her. She didn't want to book it for us and insisted that we could just ask her colleague in the morning to call a taxi for us. I didn't like this b/c I didn't know how long it'd take for a taxi to arrive at 630AM!! I was like, well I know the time we want to leave, why can't you just leave your colleague a message during your shift change to let her know we need a taxi here at 630AM. Why do I have to call downstairs? She was grumpy about it and insisted a pre-booking wasn't needed, and that the taxi would come quick. I was like, at 630AM???? she said yes. Also, I asked her if the taxi ran a meter or if it was a flat rate to the airport. She DIDN'T KNOW! But she said it would range from 30-35 euros. So that made me think ok meter. The taxi did arrive quickly and we got in, and noticed the meter running, everything was fine, but then a couple minutes in, he turned it off. and that's when I asked him about the price, and he said 33 euros flat to the airport. Upon arrival at the airport, we saw a couple who had also checked out as the same time as us and they said their driver charged them 40 euros. So I would double check before you get in if it's flat or meter. Overall, if I visit Florence again, I would stay here!

The morning breakfast was a wow moment with everything from granola, fresh cut fruit, salumi & cheese to hot dishes containing fluffy scrambled eggs and bacon. I got to the breakfast late but I saw families and couples happily chowing down. A staff member in the salon made me a fresh cup of Ciocolato Caldo (hot cocoa) upon request. You have to leave the room key on the slot to get the lights and outlets to work. We found out the hard way. When we checked out, I think the nice lady was Aurora. She was super helpful and courteous. We left out bags and headed out. We returned around 1:30, our bags were ready so we could leave and she gave us 2 bottles of water. It was thoughtful of her and really appreciated. What a great staff. We would definitely return and stay there again

It felt more like a suite, which was great! The bedroom was quite large and never felt crowded. There is a TV, desk, lounge chairs, side tables, and a small couch in the room. The restroom is very nice with a large walk in shower and spacious counter area. The restroom is stocked with quality amenities, including shampoo, body wash, conditioner, q-tips, hair dryer and more. The hotel was a perfect starting point for exploring the city, shopping, visiting the Duomo, and has tons of dining options literally steps away. There is a restaurant and bar located on the ground floor. The Santa Maria Novella train station, the Piazza Santa Maria Novella, and the Ponte Vecchio bridge are all nearby and just a few minutes walk from the hotel. I'm so glad we stayed here. Everything you need is close by, including a delicatessen next door, a laundry mat a short walk away, and a Farmacia around the corner. Yes, unfortunately we caught the flu or something. The hotel location is outside of the main attractions but we stayed here mainly for the spa and indoor pool option and ease of triple occupancy. An hour each day at the spa and pool was relaxing after a long day out and about. It was sort of private, as it limits the reservations to 8 persons per slot. The free shuttle service was good but the set times was limited. I would highly suggest it be offered every hour from 8am-10pm or upon the needs of the guests either on an hourly basis and/with advanced reservations. This would be a big improvement to the current service. Due to the limited set schedule, we only used it once during our 3 nights stay and relied on taxi service. I would give this a 4/4.5 star hotel. Overall a great stay!

My room had high ceilings and big shuttered windows that opened a la "a room with a view," and the bed was very comfortable. There's also a large scenic park next door that locals used and was great for exercising in the morning. Only not so great things were the showers which were pretty tiny. Some in our group didnt have wands in their showers. Also the included breakfast, while totally acceptable was not the extensive spread I've seen elsewhere in italy and Europe. Overall though, a great 4 night stay here! I wish we could have stayed longer!

We had a king bed with an upstairs loft with a single bed. The bathroom was a little small, but we made it work. However the room didn't have a chest of drawers so we had to pile everything into the closet which only had 5 hangers. The staff at Grand Hotel Vittoria is amazing. From check-in, to dining, to check-out everyone was so helpful and nice. We didn't take advantage of the on-site spa or outdoor pool & steam room. D did hit the health club, but he came back shortly and said the weight machine was broken. We did dine at the restaurant for one dinner, which was very good. And we had their breakfast buffet every morning but it was the same thing each day for the 7 mornings we were there. The bar/lounge is very nice. They had have grand piano and allowed D to entertain us most evenings. The bartenders were a lot of fun and kept our drinks supplied. I liked staying at the Grand Hotel Vittoria. It's proximity to Pisa, Florence, Sienna and other Tuscan cities is perfect - no more than 1 1/2 to 2 hours of a drive. And Montecantini Terme is a nice city with plenty of restaurants and night life.
