Hello, I'm leaving 1 star because of the lack of professionalism here, if you want your concerns ignored move here! I emailed several times about wasps no answer, went in person and told Sandra that my outlet in my restroom did not work, the ENTIRE year I was there it was not resolved, when I moved in there were cockroaches, Dealt with extremely loud neighbors and I was told that they can transfer me there won't be any fees when it came down to it they asked for a 300 dollar deposit.... That's a fee. Saying I'm being rude for not understanding why I'm being charged certain fees just shows you are not the kind professional you think you are Sandra, ignoring my calls and my emails is not professional, Pressuring everyone to leave 5 stars reviews isn't professional behavior. Do not rent here, they have no respect for your privacy, maintenance people coming in to your apartment without knocking or warning to fix things, which is a safety issue for everyone involved. The manager is a arrogant know it all woman who has no clue what she's doing, all problems are resolved by blaming the tenant for pre existing conditions and charging you for it. This place is a money pit. They'll claim that all these bad reviews are from old management, but I promise you the new management is no better. Removed elderly accomodations to a handicapped spot and are charging for it. Sent me 2 notices to vacate in less than a mlnthbecause I used my first amendment right and voiced my concerns. Apologized for the first 1, said they weren't evicting me, then sent another 3 weeks later. New management doesn't care about the tenants. Only cates about making herself a name here and move up on the totem pole. It's all about money. They are trying to push tenants out of their leases to remodel the apartments. Charging for remodeled apartments before actually doing the remodel. Expensive, roaches , people partying all night at the swimming pool, my mom had termites in her ceiling of her apartment.. read more

I moved to Deer Park to take care of my ailing parents, and I rented at Wilshire for 4 years. The staff was always very helpful, especially the assistant manager Alisa. If you are moving to Deer Park I recommend calling them or going to the office and asking for her specifically. My apartment was a good rent for the size (1bed/1 bath) and in a nice, quiet section of the property. I did have a couple issues during my 4 years there but they made every effort to address them, and they were promptly taken care of to may satisfaction. read more

I will start by saying my husband has leased here for over 4 years. We have been here together for over 2 years. We have been happy for the most part, up until the last 6 months or so. Management will threaten you with being kicked out for "lease violations" but pick and choose who they enforce these things with. We have new neighbors that moved in and brought a pest infestation. I have had my apartment treated no less than 5 times in the last 6 weeks, including a move out clean where I literally had to pack my entire kitchen and bathrooms. Still seeing roaches. Not to mention the harsh chemical smell that hung around for nearly a week. (Or the fact that back to back treatments are not supposed to happen due to health concerns. We were treated every week for 4 weeks before our move out treatment.) As if the roaches weren't bad enough, bed bugs appeared. When I reported this to the office the manager was rude and her first response was that I would be held responsible for paying for treatment. She tried to tell me that someone brought them in my apartment on their shoe. Anyone who has dealt with bed bugs knows that this is not the case, and nearly impossible; they're not fleas. They also made me wait over 72 hours to have my apartment inspected. The pest control guy told me that it is because they didn't want to pay an additional trip fee to bring him out to our property. Luckily, I was once a property manager and was certified in bed bug detection. As a result I caught them so early that I was able to remove them myself. What a surprise when the pest control company couldn't find any evidence of them in my apartment, and refused to treat my apartment because he wouldn't get paid without evidence, yet we saw our neighbors move nearly all of their furniture to the dumpster area, where it sat for days. (This is a violation of the lease agreement, which states that any infested furniture is to be disposed of off property.) I am now having to pack nearly my entire apartment because they are forcing us to have a treatment because they are still migrating to our apartment. (Never mind that I'd already hired my own pest control company.) Management told us that we couldn't hire our own, so clearly they are not aware of consumer rights. After several less than stellar experiences including the maintenance guy ruining property twice, I contacted the actual management company. One issue was that the roof leaked and they needed to repaint my ceiling. Not only did they not protect my kitchen table in anyway, and left paint all over it, they also got it all over the floor. (Management company rep that I spoke to had no sympathy and said, "Well that's what happens." She made no effort whatsoever to make the situation right, she didn't even pretend to be concerned about my issues.) We also requested a LARGE hole in our wall inside the cabinet to be repaired - and we were assured that it would twice while I was dealing with the roach issue. It wasn't repaired until the morning I went to the office LIVID after finding bed bugs. When they came to repair it, not only did the guy leave a giant pile of spray foam just sitting in my cabinet, but he also got it all over my stove burner, which had to be replaced. Forget about maintenance cleaning up after themselves, because it just doesn't happen. It is very unfortunate that this has turned into a terrible experience after several years of us enjoying this complex. As a result of these issues we are not staying any longer than we have to, and will hopefully be out of here in the next 6 months. I can say that Victoria does her best to be helpful, but seems to not have any real authority to do anything. Yessica seems to always be in a bad mood, and has become so rude when I deal with her that my husband now handles any interaction with the office. When this was brought up to the management company rep her response was "Just deal with Victoria then,"and "What do you want me to do about it?" (Maybe chastise the manager? Perhaps have some coaching on customer service? Or I don't know, APOLOGIZE?!) The wife and I have lived here for three years now, and the longer we have been here, the lower our opinion of this place has become. I have neither the time or money to hire a lawyer for the flagrant contract violations the owners/management have inflicted upon us but here is a short list of complaints; *started charging "pet rent" in the middle of our last lease, which was $20/month (my dog still hasn't gotten a job to cover his share of the rent) *you are required to pay for "valet trash pick up" ($25 + $3 "trash tax," whatever that means) although they routinely skip you & hardly anyone actually uses the service, as far as I can tell. The wife has complained numerous times, but stopped complaining when a shady looking guy in all black clothing picked up our trash at 2:30 AM. *the new manager is on a power trip. My first time talking to her, I called to explain that I was going to pay rent on the seventh (a few days late) to which she responded, "You need to learn to manage your money better." So, when I resigned my lease recently (I wish I hadn't) she increased the late charge from $150 to $240. It's evident that they care more about money than tenants. *the parking situation is chaotic. They actually took an elderly man's parking spot away from him. He had a spot with a sign that said "reserved for six year tenant" and revoked it and several other loyal tenants' spots under the new ownership. The list goes on, believe me. My wife probably should have written this review, but to be sure, we are both thoroughly dissatisfied with The Wilshire at Deer Park Apartments. I have now been here 4 months and have few more details to add. The worst of them all, the reasoning for my low rating is the ongoing Hot water issue that is not be resolved. The cold water blast away but if you turn only Hot water on it drizzles out so slow so i know its a boiler room problem on the property. It effects every apartment here. Another issue is at night its neatly pitch black outside walking to your car they have maybe one dull light every 500 feet makes no sense. And lastly i was promised a compact washer and dryer installed before i moved in and so i put my deposit down 2 months before moving in and that washer and dryer has yet to be installed so i will not be staying here. After i moved in and asked they said their working on installing these through out the complex now when i call and ask lady just tells me honestly i have no idea when their starting this. So this is the #1 reason why i will not be renewing my lease. read more

Ok so this complex has recently gotten new owners. Well back in August they did. Before maintenance and everything else was perfect they did the every 3 month sprays and took care of problems quick. Now they don't even do the spraying for roaches. I understand that their fixing the outside but that's all their caring about. I have lived here since June 2012 and loved it until August 2013 that's when the complex went down hill. The maintenance guys are sweet but it takes at least three request just to get a leak fixed. Their screwing us over with the utilities. We pay 894 for a three bedroom and utilities aren't supposed to be that much but with utilities added we pay over 1000 a month just to live here. They don't give you warnings about when their turning all of the water off and they refuse to take care of the roaches at all. We used to only see one every so often and we'd kill it then it'd be over. Now there are more roaches than people in Texas just in the complex. Oh and the roaches bite one bit me last week. Bates work for them but this is an apartment complex their supposed to take care of the problem not us. I'm tired of having roaches suddenly show up in bed with my one year old and I'm pregnant so it's totally unhealthy my son has been sleeping in my bed since they will not do anything about this problem no matter how many times you ask them to take care of it! They also don't give warnings about painting around your apartment and your home will smell of nothing but the disgusting paint! I would have done no stars if I could have. Pros: nice neighbors Pretty quite around the complex at night Cons: Don't give warnings for anything Won't spray for roaches (so if you like living with the little terrorists go for it) Don't take care of maintenance on the inside Only care about how the outside and leasing office look read more

Love this place, am very happy to call it my home. ITs very quiet, and family friendly. I love that they are clean and you never have to worry about the maintenance. They are always there when they say they will be and they get the job done right. The apartments are beautiful on the inside, and the kitchens are amazing! (my husband and i love cooking together). There is a beautiful park right across the street that is perfect for jogging and taking the family too, we're done several picinics there already. The computer center is always accessible and clean, and the office staff is always more than helpful. Like i said, i am very happy to call this place my home read more
