Lived in New Cross for 2 years under the agency. When we first moved in, there was no electricity or gas and when calling the agency to ask them if they knew how to set this up, I was told it was not their problem. All things worked out and we googled our way through it, but I found the response unnecessarily rude.
One entire year out of those 2 years living there, the doorbell/buzzer downstairs was not working. I called several times but got no assistance and it never got fixed. I was told by the agency to go around asking all of my neighbours in the house if they had the same issue before they would help us (hence doing their job for them although I worked on inconvenient hours), I did as told and 4 other neighbours had the same issue, but when letting the agency know this they still did nothing. I found them very rude and unhelpful throughout our stay although we did nothing to provoke them and didn't ask for their assistance often. They also kept raising the rent each year and did not give us our full deposit back, showing us pictures of mouldy walls that had been there since before we moved in.
Additionally, the place was not cleaned properly when we moved in. We therefore left the place in a way better condition than finding it, we even left behind a brand-new microwave, kettle, dish rack and cutlery tray for the new tenants as the ones we found were disgusting. But they still charged us £60 for cleaning products due to the oven not being cleaned properly (which they were right about, we forgot the oven). Overall, I would not recommend the agency. read more
