We rented a two bedroom apartment on the 13th floor at Reservoir Towers with spectacular views of Boston for three nights by way of Sonder -- an Orbitz vendor.
Talk about convenient -- 2 bedrooms are great -- especially when you travel with kids and you want your adult privacy -- and you can't touch this price point at any area hotels for equivalent amenities.
Same concept as airBNB -- the apartment is stocked with everything you need right down to linens, towels, fully functional galley kitchen and all the little things like condiments and toiletries that you sometimes forget at home. They clean up after you so no need to do anything but enjoy.
Ironically enough this is a heavily expat Russian neighborhood in Brookline (Brooklyn?) known as Brighton (Brighton Beach?). Coincidence? If so -- a pleasant and unexpected one.
The two biggest negatives here (and the reason for only 4 stars) are the parking situation (none on site and limited on street) and only a single full bath (tub and shower) to share for 4 people. There is a half bath in the Master suite but this presents a bottle neck at shower time. Ongoing renovations to the front of the building were a bit of a nuisance as was the single elevator service (one was down for the whole trip) -- but overall this was a minor annoyance.
The tram is a block away and will take you most anywhere in Boston and there are plenty of area restaurants and even a gym on site (not sure of availability).
I would rent here again without hesitation whenever I need to spend several days in Boston. A no brainer. read more
