I haven't been to Reseda Park in quite some time, but definitely was a frequenter when I lived in Tarzana as well as in Reseda directly across the street on Reseda Blvd, where a good portion of this park resides, encompassing Victory Blvd, Kittridge St and parts of Etiwanda Ave. Easy street parking as well as in their lot off Victory. Great sunny spots, shady tree areas and an awesome lake with a walk path. The wildlife here is abundance, especially the squirrels, geese, ducks, fellow waterfowls and various bird types. Super pup friendly. Two playgrounds, one off Kittridge, with park benches and tables throughout. The playground next to the parking lot on Victory is really modern and also neighbor to their rec center as well as restrooms. Definitely appreciating Reseda Park a lot more after a nice sunny picnic day out. People are friendly, kids are kids curious, carefree, adorable and reckless at times. Don't eat that "Jessica" lol Very spacious and surprisingly more on the mellow side on a holiday weekend. Some vendors do pop up from time to time usually with snacks and eats. Near a few restaurants, shops and grocers as well. read more

I am incredibly frustrated with the total lack of organization and poor communication at the Reseda Recreation Center office. I have had to make two separate trips just to try and pick up my son's baseball pictures, and it has been a complete waste of time. When I went into the office, absolutely no one in the staff knew where the pictures were placed. To make matters worse, instead of taking responsibility for losing track of them, they tried to blame me--claiming the pictures weren't ready because I didn't pick them up "on time." The reality is, I actually sent a follow-up email the day before making the trip to ensure everything was ready, and no one even bothered to respond. From start to finish, this office is highly unprofessional and completely unorganized. If you are running youth sports programs, you need to have a basic system for keeping track of items and answering parents' emails. Very disappointed. read more

I have driven past Reseda park many times in the mornings in the last 6 months and the park had seemed clean at that time of day, however today I was heading home from Tarzana with my dog and I wanted to stop by with her. I parked on the street but noticed that there were several tents set up, lots of strewn trash, shopping carts, and some disheveled people walking around. The park has so much space that would have been perfect for me to throw the ball for my dog and do some training, but I just did not feel comfortable to get out of my car with this type of situation. I really really feel that this location has so much potential because it's spacious, there's so many geese walking around, beautiful trees. It is so sad to see it so dirty. I periodically come past this park so next time in the area I'll check it out and see if it's the same, because as mentioned above, in the past in the mornings when I drove by it looked much cleaner and more welcoming than it looks today. read more

Very spacious park! Coming up and down Reseda blvd I always thought that the park was mainly only ducks and geese. When I got to the park, I was pleasantly surprised to see there were other large areas of the park! There are multiple tennis courts (specific courts are closed off on some dates due to a high school team practicing here, a posted sign details them), a large playground space with an apparatus, sandbox, and swing sets for kids, spacious grass fields and baseball fields, a large duck and pond lake, and the public pool. Walking through the park, I'd say is mainly a pleasant experience (depending your route). Near the duck pond are clusters of bugs in the air so always be on the lookout for that. There are paths right beside a large bridge and overlook a deep space. It is easy to go over the fence if someone were to push you so I'd say stay closer to the middle of the park. I give four stars because one area of that path near the deep space is the territory of homeless tents and encampments. One homeless man even had a large dog and was sitting off to the side of the closed-off public pool. The large dog did not have a leash on and I was walking my own in the distance, so I was worried it would run over to my dog. Being mindful of where you go is definitely important. Such a cute park! I was surprised to discover this nice slice of nature! I was in the area for work and was looking for a place to stop at and eat my lunch al fresco and this was so tempting! Easy street parking! The park is right off Victory! I didn't have enough time to explore it, but this is a cute park with lots of geese and ducks! I'll be back to explore it and spend more time here, decompress. I was kinda in a rush, but still, it was relaxing to spend a few minutes here and enjoy the peace and the nature. I didn't take great photos, need to come back, but trust, this is a nice spot! If you live around or you are in the area, check it out! Those birds just melted my heart! read more

Flash back to 1997 Yelpers. Thats well before Yelp, My Space, Smart phones, things like that. I met this boy online, in a chatroom called Talk City. I believe we frequented the Twenty something room. The first thing he asked me was A/S/L. Hey your not too far from me, he said to me. Yea...yea...yea whatever. Days of chatting turned into months then into years. 71 miles apart and we never met. Fast forward 2 years to June 1999 and I decide to meet him. Are you crazy? Your going to meet this person? What if he is an Ax Murderer. What does he look like? You better meet him in a safe place. Are you sure he is a who he says he is? Well let me tell you something. This was well before people got crazy online. Trust me, in the mid 90s when chat rooms took off people were different. It was a different time back then. Now a days people are different. Ive heard horror stories of Tinder dates. If you wanted to send a picture you had to scan it, then email it on dial up and hope that nobody calls your landline and interupts your connection. There was no photoshoping, no filters. Just plain old Polorods or 3 by 5 pictures that took 3 days to develop at your local Thrifty. If you wanted to call them you had to save your minutes and only call between 8:00pm-6:00am. Unlimited minutes? What the heck is that? The struggle was real back then. Or if you didn't have a phone you had a pager and that's how you texted them. You had to remember what number turned into what letter. It was much easier to ghost someone because all you had to do is make up a new user name. Anyways the boy told me he was going to be in my area again. Same old line he fed me for months. He was from Orange County, I was in Ventura County. He told me to meet him here at the park off Reseda and Victory. Dude...that is super close to me. A lot of his friends were going to a event at this park that night. It was a guarantee no kill night right? After all there would be too many witnesses. I So I arrive in my then little white car. He arrives in his little black car just like mine (which he still drives today) I met his friends. Figured he was safe nothing was going to happen to me then got in his car. Came back a few hours later or was it early the next morning, I dont know I had a curfew back then to an empty parking lot. Luckily my car was still there. Back then it was also a Park and Ride lot. But this was the park where I saw him in real life for the first time almost 20 years ago. 20 years ago this was a 5 Star place. Now, I only drive by every so often. To me, I will always love this park on Reseda and Victory. If your thinking of chatting...I don't think chat rooms even exist these days like they did back then. read more

I came to this park all the time when I was a kid. I actually had a unicorn themed 3rd birthday party here. I would come and run around and feed the ducks or just take a walk with my family. Nothing much has changed just the home for the ducks has been added. The park is clean despite there being so many ducks. My son loves coming here. We go to the playarea then to the basketball court so my husband can shoot some hoops then we take a stroll and look at the ducks. It's somewhere where you just make memories. read more

We love this park. There are lots kinds of birds.In the spring time these birds coming out with the their babies. Awasome and beautiful baby birds. But some stupid HUMANS do fish there and hurt a birds. They dont throw away their fishing hook in the trash bags. They leave a fishing hooks in the lake and those hooks catch a bird and hurt them. The swimming pool at this park is amazing. It's only open for the summer, but I wish it was year-round, because it is big and beautiful and feels great. The lifeguards teach classes and they are wonderful. My son learned to swim there last year. It's also a great place to meet neighbors. Come check it out before Labor Day! read more

This review is for the playground. I've never visited the rest of the park. There were so many bugs! I usually am not bothered by bugs but this was excessive. Big ants were all over the ground and benches. My toddler wanted snacks but I felt like if we opened her lunch box it would be covered with ants in seconds. And all the trees had tons of those Japanese beetles. I had to swat a few away and we were only there a few minutes before we left and went to balboa park instead. read more

The perimeter around the pond is a third of a mile, and on a typical day you'll find people fishing (allowed with permit, I think) and feeding the ducks (not allowed, but lots of people do it anyway). The pond used to be grimy and nasty, so it's great that it's been cleaned up in the last couple years. If only some of the other parts of the park could get a facelift as well! read more

The tennis area prohibits skating. Too bad 'cause it would've been a smooth ride. Had to settle with the adjacent area. Wanted to skate around the lake path but there was just too much duck feces. Nice walk on foot though. Pretty huge park overall with ample parking at least on a weekday. read more

Camp is great!!! Camp Director Monica Resendez is a joke!!!!! I work a job that is on call and I can't make it to pick up my child. I also have NO body on my pick up list cause I'm a single parent with very little help. So I call to try and add a name cause I obviously can't make it in to add a name or I would pick up my child then. She says we can not except a name over the phone and we will call the lapd to take her if you do not show up. I do appreciate the safety of my child but sending her to a police station since I can't make it on time is a terrible solution in my mind. I am sure that Monica has zero children of her own with the way she handled the situation. This unfortunately will be my child's last summer at Reseda camp. I Will locate a more family friendly camp next summer. read more

baseball, basketball, tennis, and strolling around the pond may all be enjoyed at this park. When I say there are a lot, I truly mean a lot of ducks and geese--there must be several hundred of them here! There could be bird droppings on the ground as you go around the pond, so be careful where you tread. Given the surrounding shade, I'm amazed by how well kept this is; the nearby McDonald's is a nice accent. read more

NEVER and I mean NEVER take your dog here. For the second time my dog, who is always on a leash, was attacked by another dog who was NOT on a leash. The owners did nothing to stop their dog or to help me. I had to kick their dog with all my might to get it off my dog. My dog is a 100lb Black Lab/Pit mix. She is a fully trained, certified, working dog and didn't even try to defend herself against this dog. I called 911, I called the office at Reseda Park, I tried to call Animal Control and was given no help by any of these so called "authorities". It is against the law for me to defend my dog with a weapon because dogs are considered property. But I will, from now on, carry my Marine knife with me whenever I take my dog for a walk and the next irresponsible dog owner who allows their dog to harm my dog will watch their dog get harmed. My intention is NOT to kill another dog, but it is my intention to protect my dog in any manner that I see fit. Screw these bad dog owners and screw these so call "authorities" for not helping me. read more

A large park with several activities available. There are large trees providing cool shade with nice breezes during mid-day. Clean. There is a lake In the middle of the park. Lots of picnic tables and fire places all over the park. Like the water fountain, for your bottle, the lower level for your pets. read more

Reseda Park is one of my favorite parks to go to when I wanna get away from life's craziness. I go by the pond and just sit in silence as I view the weird slant positions the trees are in and the ducks waddling around and going underneath the water. It's a very open park so it's easy to get in and out and also quiet which is something that is missing in LA's traffic. read more

Oh Reseda! Reseda Park will forever hold a special place in my heart. For any local growing up in the area, Reseda Park was great extended backyard yard to have.The park has so many things to offer: Basketball Courts, Swimming Pool, Tennis Courts, Pond (w/ Ducks) Playgrounds, Seasonal Carnivals, BBQ, Picnics, and apparently Judo Classes. I still jog around the park early mornings, running through the bridge near Reseda High school to the duck pond. Apparently back in the day one could rent paddle boats and paddle around. The water is murky and an all too familiar pond smell virulently spreads in the air. Although I am often irked by the smell of the water, the ducks always provide me with fond memories. I used to feed the ducks bread with the grandpa back in the day, and I am pretty sure the same ducks are still there. In all, Reseda Park is grand. The basketball courts are always popular during the evening, the pool is full during the summer, baseball/softball games start in the Spring, and the Carnival arrives here and there. What more can one ask for in a park! read more

I used to come to this park all the time when I wanted to just get away from my friends and relax for a bit or read. These days it is a lot more busy and I am not sure it would be quite as relaxing. I came here a few weeks ago and it was packed with kids doing various sports all over the park. This is very cool for the kids and parents, but not what I would consider an atmosphere for relaxation. However I was pleased to see the duck pond full and the ducks enjoying it. It's not bad, but probably not somewhere I would go to spend any quiet time at. At least not during the hours when the sports are going on. read more

If you were raised in the Valley (San Fernando that is) you at some point have been to Reseda Park on the corner of Reseda and Victory. I grew up feeding the squirrels, the ducks and playing in the kids area. I'm now back as a parent taking my son to play baseball for Reseda and I love the staff here. He played for the Angels under Coach Luis and Coach Elvis and we had a great season. Both coaches are amazing with the kids and seriously patient for this 9-10 y.o. age group. We are in the Reseda All-Stars under the same coaches and joined by another Reseda Coach - Martin. These guys really put in a lot of time and dedication to teach these kids and take them far. The Pond, I remember was emptied out 1-2 years ago I believe, cleaned and re-filled. The smell as another reviewer posted is much more bearable but keep in mind, all the ducks poop everywhere so it will always be some kind of smelly. You'll see turtles pop their heads out once in a while since some times people dump turtles in the pond. This park has everything: Pool, Basketball Courts, Baseball Fields, Pond, BBQ grills and tables, Tennis Courts, Volleyball Courts, Kids play area, all kinds of programs for kids to learn sports, dance, karate..etc. The fair comes often and the park is always filled with people playing soccer, doing extreme work outs, fishing, feeding ducks...etc. The only issue I have is the youngsters that think it's cool and ok to smoke weed where anyone can see or smell it. I was practicing with my son at one of the fields, it was just the two of us and these 3 boys, one must've been between 12-13 and the others just a few years older came and sat at the bleachers and started passing the dutch...I don't care if you smoke and have no problem with that but don't smoke in front of other little kids in the broad daylight...WTH is wrong with these kids now a days. I think the cops should patrol more often. read more

Great park! there's a nice gated playground for kids and very large open grass area to play outside of the gates. There are restrooms (but they are very small, really only meant for one person at at time). I noticed there are basketball hoops and a parking lot (yay no street parking ;) ). One draw back is is does face a busy street ( however the playground is not close to the street so brownie points for that). I didn't like the bathroom was for individual use and it was teeny-tiny you hardly could move). But, hey at least there is a restroom....right?! read more

I come here twice a week for tennis. There are 4 courts side by side. The courts are very well maintained with no cracks on the ground. There are also lights, but I usually come in the day. There is also a small parking lot, but there is plenty of parking all the time. read more

This is a good size park located off Victory Blvd in the West Valley Area of Reseda with a small pond with ducks. During the summer the basketball courts get busy at night. Also its right near the One Generation Senior Center. Some of the activities you can do are baseball/softball, walking/jogging, bbq, picnics, tennis, bday parties, swimming, playground for the kids, feed the ducks, and go eat at nearby mom & pop restaurants. read more

I'm at this park a few times a week now. The playground is kept in excellent condition and the basketball courts are always busy. My complaint is the people who don't show any care for the park - leaving trash, tagging, etc... the squirrels and ducks are aggressive because people feed them all the time. There's plenty of trash cans and I see city workers there all the time. I think they're doing the best they can with the resources they have. The upkeep at some nearby parks is significantly better but I think the people who hang out at those parks show more respect for what they have. read more

I stayed in the Tarzana/ Reseda area for a year and I have to say that this place really helped me out with stress. There is an area to play basketball and Baseball. Also there is a small trail that goes around that park. Its a perfect place to just get away and get some fresh air. Even though you can see the roads if you go further in you wont be able to hear the cars. read more

I pretty much grew up at this park and it makes me sad to see how run down and empty it is now. I played ball here, took swimming lessons, went to the carnivals and hung out here my entire childhood. i pass by on the weekends on bike rides and the baseball diamonds are mostly empty, and it doesn't look like there's many leagues going on. i most recently visited for the dodgers dreamfield dedication, but its weird, i never see anyone using that field. i miss having this place for my kid to go to. it was really more than a park back in the day, it was a big family. now its just empty and you just hear about shootings there. read more

There are three sections: one for timid dogs of all sizes; another for large dogs; and one for small dogs. When I went there in the evening at about 7:00, the parking area was nearly full, so one had the feeling that the park was to capacity. Each section had many dogs, but there was plenty of space and it didn't seem crowded. Seats are provided for the owners and each area had water and bowls. Altogether a pleasant experience. read more

Love this park. Wish they had a fence around the playground though especially with there being a pond close by. I was there like an hour ,I love this park ,my son loves it too! But today I went to the pool at 12 right when they open And unfortunately after we were swimming for like an hour and a half we looked on the drains and there was a "dead rat " yes a dead rat ,,,,,it was so disgusting we told employees and they went to take it out right away but it was awful .,,, my 12-year-old could believe it ,,,,, after they close for the 2 PM break then I change and want to ask employees what was gonna happen because of the dead rat in the pool and they said the chlorine level was high and everything was fine and I wasn't gonna get sick (hopefully)I mean my baby it's just 2 yrs old n I'm scared but the bad experience we had it was disgusting so just to let you know next time you want to go to another public swimming pool ,,, check the drains just in case ,,,,this happened at Victory and Reseda swimming pool. read more
