    Disney on ice

Went to see Disney on Ice! What a fabulous show. Took some friend's kids and we had a blast. Great performances. Great selection of kids shows. Young and old to enjoy this show. I would definitely do this again.

A nice venue in northeast Wisconsin capable of seating about 10,000. A stones throw from Lambeau Field it is incredibly easy to navigate parking and traffic into/out of the area, especially considering there are generally 50,000 fewer people here than at a typical Packers event. The concourses have pretty good flow about them and there is reasonable space in the seats. Pretty decent acoustics for concerts. A large soda runs $4, $3 for a bottle of water & $10 for a large beer. Guess the prices are pretty much at the going rate. Plenty of hotel options nearby and night life to check out on your way into or out of a show here. A pretty nice place to catch an event & someplace the area residents should be thankful to have in their northern Wisconsin backyard.

I came here with a group to watch an indoor football game. We had a suite stocked with food and drinks. This place came with a fantastic view. The attendant came to check on us a few times. Parking was good and the staff helped us find everything we needed. Im lopking forward to my next visir to this venue.

Other than driving 2 hours to Milwaukee, this is the only large concert venue in the area. However, it lacks in several areas. For floor seating, there is no ADA raised platform. This from the same company that ran the Brown County Arena, which did have a raised platform for the last concert I saw there. The Resch does have ADA seating, but it is way up high and usually cost more than the lowest cost seat to an event, even though it is higher and further away. (Hockey is a small exception as they have a small number of ADA seating available next to the ice.) Only 1 elevator per side of the arena. It also goes to the 2nd floor concourse. So get there early if you want to get to your ADA seat before the event starts, it may be a wait for the elevator. Getting tickets is also a challenge for ADA seating. Even though the website has the option to search for ADA, I've never yet been able to buy them online. The site has always said none available. But when I call the ticket office - "Oh, yeah, there are seats." This is a website accessibility lawsuit just waiting to happen. Yikes. Spending more for front row seats is not always an option and also not always available. It would be better with a raised platform and they stress in their emails for concerts - "Standing allowed during the concert". For someone that is in a wheelchair/scooter or can not stand for long periods of time, that is not good when there is no raised platform. Venue staff members are pleasant when needing chairs removed for my scooter. There are accessible bathrooms also that don't normally have a long wait to use. The most recent concert I went to was a lot of fun and enjoyed myself. I just had to do a lot of preparing and planning beforehand in getting front row and getting there early to get the chairs moved. The artists are what make coming worth it, not the venue itself. I hope they can rethink ADA compliance and upping the customer experience from a venue standpoint. I'm more than willing to help with any layout suggestions.

Night at the Green Bay Gamblers game

We frequently visit the Resch Center for GB Gamblers games. We recently went to the game that included the teddy bear toss. We stayed in the Dog Pound. The tickets were front row and included food (hamburgers, hotdogs, chips / dip, cookies) and unlimited Bud Light and soda / water. It was a very fun event! As with most venues of this size, the concession stand prices are a bit high. However, the Resch Center does offset that with a large variety of options in food.

Neither my husband nor I are really football fans these days. In fact, the last Super Bowl we truly…read moresat down and watched from beginning to end was Super Bowl XXIX back in 1995 -- the San Francisco 49ers versus the San Diego Chargers. My husband grew up in the Bay Area, so he was naturally a 49ers fan, while I was born in San Diego and rooted for the Chargers. So yes... it has been awhile. But while passing through Green Bay during a weekday trip, we found ourselves near Lambeau Field and figured, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do." And honestly, I am very glad we stopped. Even for someone who doesn't actively follow football, there is something undeniably impressive about Lambeau Field. The stadium feels less like a sports venue and more like a living piece of American history woven deeply into the identity of Green Bay itself. The Packers are one of the oldest and most storied franchises in the NFL, founded all the way back in 1919, and remarkably, they are still community-owned rather than controlled by a billionaire owner. There is a sense of pride and loyalty surrounding the team that feels very different from the atmosphere around many modern professional sports organizations. Walking around the stadium, we saw statues and tributes to legendary figures like Vince Lombardi, the iconic coach for whom the Super Bowl trophy itself is named. Even someone only casually aware of football history recognizes that name. My husband especially enjoyed revisiting memories of players like Brett Favre, whose name became synonymous with Green Bay football during the 1990s. One thing I found especially charming was how the stadium exists right within a residential neighborhood. You look around and see ordinary homes sitting not far from this legendary sports landmark, which somehow makes the place feel more personal and woven into everyday life rather than isolated behind massive commercial development. The atrium, halls, and displays throughout the area were beautifully maintained and full of memorabilia, photographs, and pieces of Packers history. Even without being die-hard fans ourselves, we found it surprisingly enjoyable to wander through and absorb the pride the city clearly has for its team. Sometimes while traveling, it's fun to experience things outside your usual interests simply because they matter deeply to the people who live there. And Lambeau Field definitely feels important to Green Bay.

They have areas for personal tailgating, bars open up their spots like it's an open house, and vendors will be forcing drinks down your throat. Once you are inside, it's as if the history of football glows around you. The concessions will do enough for being in the middle of nowhere, Wisconsin, and the alcohol options will feel like a bar with good enough well drinks to get you through a game. Yes, get a cushion if you have a Hank Hill butt; otherwise, you should be okay with the occasional standing up. The fans were incredible, but I am also a Bengals fan, so what kind of threat are we when it was Joe Flacco throwing the ball for us? This is a wonder of the world in football; it will forever be a core sports memory of mine.

I was more impressed by how they did their best to ensure short lines/quick waits at the counters than anything else, though the atmosphere is pretty cool too. Our group tried a little bit of everything on the menu, and the brat in a blanket stood out the most, though it was a lot more food than we thought. The regular brat was also very good. The beer is priced about where you'd expect for a professional footballs stadiums main hangout place. Their liquor selection isn't the widest but has a little bit of everything (food 4/5). I thought they also had a great staff who were always on the go looking around at who needed help. We had three different bartenders help us when we needed it, and two others who asked me if I needed anything despite the bevy of food in front of us and a half full beer. They were also professional and courteous. They also separate the food line well and have a separate line for just beer and brats versus everything else in the other lines. I never had to wait for more than one person in front of me. (service 5/5). The atmosphere is great: they have a live band and then also have guest appearances from the band who plays during the games (I forget their name) but it's all a part of the experience. These things are not easy to coordinate so major props here as well (Ambiance/Atmosphere 5/5). Granted, I imagine the wait to be longer and service to decline if the Packers were playing for something, but since they were out of the playoffs at this point, I'm assuming the crowd was much smaller and easier to manage (although there was still a line out the door and a slight wait to get in so maybe the crowd stays the same and the line outside just gets longer). Either way, an unforgettable experience for a first timer at a Packers game.
