    While in Oregon on vacation my mom told us about this facility. She called about taking a tour and…read morewe were happy to find out that they offered daily tours. We set one up and went. It was a very fun and informative tour for my mom, my two teenage daughters and myself. We really enjoyed learning about how the dogs are trained and I was especially happy to learn that their dogs are all rescued from shelters! We got to meet and interact with one of their "graduates" named King and see what he can do. We all enjoyed it very much and will go back again next year. The tour was free to boot so that even made it nicer. I recommend going here to learn about these wonderful dogs and trainers.

Dogs for Better Lives rescues dogs for our programs from animal shelters throughout the western United States. After professional training at our southern Oregon campus, our dogs are placed with... ~ People with a variety of disabilities and challenges including: hearing loss, deafness, and children on the autism spectrum. ~ Professionals (teachers, physicians, counselors, legal advocates, and caregivers) who work with people with various disabilities and challenges. We place our Hearing Assistance and Facility Dogs with qualified clients throughout the United States. Currently our Autism Assistance Dogs are just placed in OR and WA. Over time, this program will become national as well.
