We have it picked up every other week so the next time it was suppose to be picked up it was not. We received a call saying because of COVID-19 they were not going to be able to pick it up they also said it would be picked up the next week. It was not. I call them and was fed a line of crap about saying how sorry they were and that crews would be working all weekend to catch up and it would be picked up by Sunday. Well it was not. You call to cancel your service with them and if you have full cans, they have the nerve to think they can charge you for having full cans and then they won't take the cans. I called and spoke with a representative today Friday May 10 2019. It is the day after the day they were supposed to have picked up our garbage. AGAIN!!! THIS IS GETTING RIDICULOUS!! We pay our rental management company every month for our garbage to be picked up on Thursday as per the agreement and at least three weeks a month we have to call them to find out when they are going to get our garbage and not just ours the entire subdivision that utilizes their services.I do believe things are going to have to change. I don't need this stress since I moved to the country to destress. If I can I would let this company close now. I have to asked for pick up every day. They told me they are out of driver and charged my account for $101 for three months bill (originally I paid $55 for three months). I felt so bad I did not look at this review first for service. When I called back for missing pick up credit and cancel service, the representative told me I could not get refund check back because I cancelled the account and the credit must be applied to the live account. In addition, they will charge me $60 extra for remove the bins. (I paid $55 for initial delivery already). This company is not an honest business. Even the representative asked me how much I would like to pay for keeping the service. I said $55 as usual. They said what about $68? When I insisted saying no, they told me $60 is the bottom line. I noticed, without warning, that my quarterly bill has increased another 15%. Since Republic is already higher than the competition, and since service (especially of late) has been spotty, I'm changing providers. Do they care? Their customer service attitude was "oh well -- we had a rate increase!" But when I called to cancel, then they were interested in adjusting my rate. Too late -- I've already found another provider, who happened to have great reviews (Curbside) AND was significantly cheaper. So, as a consolation prize, they are charging me $60 just to pick up my cans! When asked whether or not I could just drop them off (for free), the answer was "no" -- because, apparently due to COVID, their offices are closed. Therefore I have no options to avoid a $60 container removal fee. I suggest you try ANY VENDOR, any at all, before even considering Republic. read more

We started service when we moved into a new apartment and pick up was great followed a good schedule and were reliable but upon buying our first home and moving we canceled we were told that when we called and canceled service we were all good to go and were paid in full but in December two months later we got a bill for $60 for can return fees which is ridiculous they said we were notified upon cancelation over the phone which we were not and that it was noted on there website on account why would we check a account that was canceled and why were not notified all customer service will tell us is that we were notified horrible policies and customer service procedures great for the price but know you will be charged and not notified. read more

UPDATE: So I finally had to cancel service because of sooo many missed pick ups. BEWARE - this company will continue to cause you grief even after leaving them. I am now being billed almost $30 for a final Container Pick Up that 1) I very clearly said, when cancelling service, that I would NOT pay for 2) the container was broke, and 3) they picked it up full of 3 weeks of trash one week prior to the scheduled date. /We received a great low promotional rate from Republic Services after moving into our new home this year; however, that is where all the /greatness stops. Our pick up day is on Mondays. On 9/10/2018, our household garbage can, recycle can and 9 bags of bagged yard debris was sitting at the curb awaiting to be picked up. After calling and speaking to a customer service rep in Charlotte, NC, I was told that someone would be back by 6 PM that day to pick up the missed bags and that I could have up to 10 bags of yard debris with my regular pickup. By the end of the day I still had 9 bags of bagged yard debris waiting for pickup. I called again that evening to only be given a handful of "I'm sorry's" and excuses. I was again told that I could have up to 10 bags of yard debris with my regular pick up....ok now that we have that established, when was it going to be picked up was the next thing I asked for clarification on. The CSR tells me that the system showed a scheduled pick up of 9/11/2018 by 6 pm. I asked to speak with a supervisor and am told that no one is available to speak with me, that I can put in a request to speak with a manager who will call me in 24 to 48 hours to address my concerns. I responded with by all means please have them call me. 9/11/2018 - 6:30 PM - 9 bags of bagged yard debris still on the curb awaiting pickup. Phone call to Republic Services again and I get a CSR in Charlotte, NC. Eagerly waiting to know how she can help me after pulling up my account...I casually asked if she showed a pickup scheduled for 9/11/2018...of which she replied yes your pick up was for today by 6 pm. I said can you tell me what time you have right now? She said yes 6:30 pm. I said guess where my scheduled pick up is right now...she said I am not sure...I said well it is still on the curb where it has been since Sunday evening. Oh I am so sorry! I said what is it going to take to get this picked up? I live in a neighborhood with a strict HOA and I can be fined for having these bags laying out on the road. I know I can have up to 10 bags and I only have 9. It should have been picked up on Monday and I am still hassling with your company over what they did not do. Oh I am so sorry! I said do not apologize to me again! I want answers! She said I will reschedule it again for tomorrow by 6 pm....I said are you positive they are coming tomorrow? Do I need to find someone else? The apologies begin to roll....I finally said do not tell me you are sorry again...if you can't give me answers then I am cancelling my service...ok he said I can help with that! And within 2 minutes my service was cancelled. I said how much of a refund should I expect....Refund? oh I can't tell you that! You will have to speak to someone in billing...I said I will hold please connect me to someone NOW! I get a young man by the name of Gavin who proceeds to tell me that my services are terminated as of 9/30/2018 and I will receive a refund for October and November. I said no I will receive the refund for the last two weeks of September too...my service is cancelled as of today not 9/30/2018...Oh our system wont allow that! I said you better figure it out just like I have figured out how to replace YOU!!!! Again the apologies come flowing....I said unless you are going to provide me with answers or get me someone who can answer me DO NOT APOLOGIZE to me AGAIN!!! After a brief hold I get connected to Alicia in Charlotte NC who is a customer relations manager...(and she is the only Alicia in the company) Now this gets good! Alicia takes command of the call and begins telling me exactly what I want to hear. She offers me empathy not sympathy and puts in a full credit for my quarterly services. Tells me that the cans will be picked up by the end of the month...she is emailing the managers in this area to get to the bottom of the problem and including a "read" receipt so that she will know when the managers have seen her email. I request the cans removed sooner since my service is terminated and she says she will be in at 10:30am the following day and will call me promptly to let me know an answer. 9/17/2018 - as of now I have not received a phone call from the manager that I requested on 9/10/2018 and Alicia has yet to return my call too... REPUBLIC SERVICES SUCKS! Do not use them...take your business elsewhere even if it means a little more for the service. read more

She has talked to a female for three weeks straight about them not picking up the trash for three weeks, missing tomorrow will be 4 weeks! I sold my house and am moving. The charge to pick up cans is $30 each, so more than a service bill. Considering they cant manage to pick up trash consistently, I'm curious as to how long the cans will remain in the new owners possession. I will not recommend them to the new buyers or to anyone else looking for trash service in the servicing area. DO NOT waste your time or money with these people! The entire time that I have had service with them I have had to call every Friday, (EVERY FRIDAY!!!!) because they fail to pick up my trash. I sit on hold for 20 to 30 min every time I contact them and get the same bull crap lines. That they escalated the claim, they will get to the bottom of it, and it wouldn't happen again. But then come the next pick up day I get home from work to find the trash untouched. It is very aggravating when you can't throw your trash out bc you trash I still full from the week before. Avoid this company!!! I have been trying to have used containers (full I might add) from a previous tenant (Athens, Georgia) picked up from my rental property. The tenants paid the final bill and moved out June 15. As of today, July 27, I still have the cans. They stink and the customer service at Republic stinks more! Been with them for over 10 years. On many occasions they dont pick up with no explanation.....recycle doesn't come when they are supposed too either. After calling for a reason why both our trash and recycling wasn't picked up they basically blew us off with a "I dont care Attitude". At this point it service was cancelled and we went with Curbside. Most of our neighborhood was with Republic but after the lack of service folks are quickly switching to Curbside. We have called 5 times over the last month to get the trash cans picked up and keep getting the "we will be out tomorrow " routine.....cant get deposits back and money owed either since they cant even manage to make time to pick them up read more

I have had Republic Services for about a year. They were very good until about 2 months ago. Then the decline started. Within the last 8 weeks there have been 4 delayed or no show pickups. Three of the 4, I received a call the night of my regular pickup saying they would pickup the next day on Friday because of problems. I was ok with that. I thought it was excessive delays but at least I got a robo call. Then last Thursday they didn't show at all and no robo call. I will trim this down but on Friday I called and the customer service person told me they would come Friday by 6 or on Monday. By mid-day Monday I called and cs told me I had not been scheduled and she would schedule for Tuesday. By mid-day Tuesday the cs told me they probably weren't going to show Tuesday but she would schedule for Wednesday but they would "possibly" be there by my regular day of Thursday. The 3rd cs person told me the second customer service person lied to me that it had been scheduled for Monday, which made it worst because now they had missed me Thurs, Friday, Monday and Tuesday. When I spoke to the cs person on Monday I requested a call from a supervisor and she said one would call me. It's been 30 hours and no call and I don't expect one. What is strange to me is that I don't even see any of their trucks running around the area. Just the lack of concern from 3 customer service reps and the poor service dictates looking for a new service. read more

Called again at 4:45 and they don't know why I was told that and they could not give me any idea when they will be picking up my trash....staffing issues.
