This is the worst trash company I've ever had. You pay all these monthly fees for them to not pick up your trash or recycling. Especially around the holidays. They are basically stealing money from you. DO NOT USE THEM! We cancelled our service and we are going with AAA. AAA picks up my neighbors trash and recycling every week. If you cancel your service, they are going to try to charge $40 to pick up trash can and recycling bin. Our trash is supposed to get picked up on Tuesday mornings, but it was missed this week. I called at 9:00am on Wednesday morning and Customer Service told me it would be picked up within 24 hours, which would have been Thursday morning. I called Thursday morning and they assured me it would be picked up on Thursday. It's now 4:00pm on Friday afternoon and I've called twice today, both in the morning and after noon and they tell me there's not much Customer Service (located in North Carolina) can do as the local office has 24 to 48 hours to respond to Customer Service requests. Because of constant price hikes and this problem I'll be cancelling Republic Services and switching to another service. Of note regarding two other services I contacted today, neither one answered the phone and neither have returned my call. So a good point regarding Republic Services is that they do have agents to talk to by phone, even if they can't get something simple like picking up trash done. read more

They keep going up on prices, and they go for weeks not picking up your trash as it sits out on the front of your lawn.

Republic has been having some serious issues for the last several months. Many people in our area switched to a different company. I stayed with Republic to give them a chance to make things right. The service seemed to get a little better. Last month, they raised my bill! Ever since then, pick up has been late by two or three days each week. Don't book with them. Bad service. Delivered us 2 trash bins instead of 1 trash and 1 recycle. Previous home, unable to pick up recycle on time. Sent out notification for delay and when they would pick up again however they were another week late from the updated pickup date. People pay quarterly to get these things picked up in a timely manner, Republic should respect that and do their job. If not, provide a discount for that quarter. Overall, Republic has been awful. Way too many days missed and way too many days my can sits out so we don't miss the pickup when they decide to finally come by. Apparently you have to call and complain every time they miss a pickup in order for a credit to be given otherwise all of the notes in your area aren't proof enough that your service was missed. I'm paying $8 more a month over other companies for service I don't receive. They told me that if I felt I needed to go somewhere else, then that was my decision. I'm so very disappointed to say that I've received the worst customer service from this organization. I switched to your service (in Flowery Branch, GA) a couple weeks ago. Trash containers were to be delivered last Friday. They weren't. Spoke with customer service on Monday and was promised a quick resolution and a call back within two hours. Received neither. Called again on Tuesday. Received promise of call back and escalation. Guess what? Received neither. I'm still waiting for that call back.And I'm a brand new customer! Why didn't I check out the reviews before I decided on Republic as my trash removal company. I used them based on the recommendation of my realtor. A person that doesn't even use them. I have been with Republic for 4 years. The service is inconsistent. When they do give you advance notice that their will be an interruption of service it is like harassment. Multiple calls thro several days. The worst thing about them is the billing. It seems as though the terms and price changes all the time. I scheduled them for auto payments every 3 month but still got late fees and delinquency notices. I will say they are respectful of their equipment and my property. I never had an issue with the receptacles careless put on my property and that is why they received 1 star. read more

This company has horrible services. If you are thinking about using them don't! I have not been with them very long and at first all was okay. Now my recycle has not been picked up since June 13th. I keep calling and they say it will be picked up but still nothing! I have asked to speak to a supervisor/manager several times and always the same response "they are not available or on another call"! They ask if you want a call and I say yes, but surprise, surprise they never call!!!! Finally cancelled my service effective June 30th. They say they will pick up containers on July 6th, we will see. I wish I could rate Republic 0 out of 5 stars. This is the worst service experience I've ever encountered. Recycling was never picked up week after week. I would call to request a missed pickup and no one could explain why services were not being rendered. I finally decided to discontinue services due to the complete lack of consistency and they STILL have not removed our trash and recycling containers which have been sitting at our curb for 2 weeks. Consistency is a wonderful thing. And republic services has consistently let me down. Whether they were late picking up trash for a week or a day they are always late. As a bonus, they leave mine and my neighbors trash cans dented and beaten, and sometimes on their side. They have never once picked up recycling despite the fact that i pay them for it. Service with this company is terrible! Our entire road was missed on 6/21. Numerous times I have contacted them and told I was on the scheduled to be picked up in 2 days. Still no pickup. Some of the residences along our street look like the garbage dump. Overflowing cans along with bags lining the side of the road. There was a time, I had very few issues with my trash pickup. Over the last several years, things have gotten worse and worse while the price goes up every single quarter. My current issue is missed pickups. I put my can out early Memorial Day morning but I was afraid I got it out too late. I left it out all day Monday and Tuesday and it was not picked up. I logged in online and saw that my pickup was moved to Tuesday that week, so it should have been picked up. I just left my can down at the end of the driveway and it wasn't picked up that week. Then, it wasn't picked up this Monday either so I used the Missed Pickup contact form on their webpage. It wasn't picked up Tuesday so I submitted another request. Still no pickup. I call customer service and I'm told that they MIGHT be able to get it by Friday night. Which means, I have THREE WEEKS worth of trash built up. It won't all fit in the cans and for my neighbors sake, I have it in my garage. Unacceptable. It doesn't help that my bill goes up every single quarter. Time to call Peach State Disposal or Southern Sanitation and move on from this disaster. I just wonder if they will every pick up my remaining trash and get their cans? read more

My father who is elderly (87 yo) has "Back Door Service" through Republic. It's a joke for my father. Almost every month someone is to lazy to get out the truck to go pick up the trash from the side of the house. I have to call every month and then be told someone will be out the next day. That's a joke as well. Trash is there until the regular pickup the next week . My poor father has had to deal with maggots and animals getting in the trash because he can't close the top because of all the trash for 2 weeks. When I call, I'm being told there must have been a substitite driver; however, the drivers have a list of all residence that have "Back Door Service". If Republic is going to offer the service, they need to create a sign to place near the mailbox so these "Substitues" can see the homes that have "Back Door Service"... obvious the list is not working. If my father is getting missed most of the time, I can only imagine how many other elderly and disabled families are being missed. It's sad that Gwinnett County adds this company to his taxes and he has no say as to who he would like to pick up his trash. This company is awful. First the positive points that raise their rating from zero to one star. If they make a pick up, they usually empty the can completely, and spill less debris on the street than their competitor. The key point being IF they pick up. We have had so many missed pickups in the first few months that we have their service department on speed dial and a web bookmark to report missed pickups. Last month our can sat at the curb for 8 days. We called 3 times and were told to just leave it for another day and they will get it. I am sure our neighbors appreciated looking at that all week. They missed again last week, and this week, and on it goes. If they can't fix this we'll cancel and go back to using the compactor site. I never complain but this company has changed my mind. I have been with them for years. After getting repeated "late notices" after not having received an original bill and having sporadic at best service for both trash and recycling, I finally changed providers. At the time I canceled this service, I asked if there was any other charge and was assured that there wasn't. Today, I got a "late notice" (again) and when I called to find out what was going on, I was told that there was a $60 charge to pick up THEIR bins. They are overpriced, don't always pick up garbage and not friendly when you call them. Go with White Oak for trash if your in Barrow County.

UPDATE: I spoke with someone at corporate and they have waived the pick up fee for my containers. If there are no other issues after the pick up of my containers, I will consider this issue resolved. Have been with this company a few years now. Lately my recycle container has not been emptied. When I call, they always say it will be picked up the next day. Most of the time it was, but not always. I called over a week age to cancel my service effective at the end of February (as I am paid thru 02/28/18). I was told that the containers for trash and recycling are scheduled for pick up on 05/05/18. I was also told there would be a charge for pick up. I paid a fee for the delivery of the containers when I started service with them and don't think it's right to charge again to pick them up. The customer service told me that a supervisor would call in 24-48 hours to discuss this with me. As I did not ever receive a call, I called back 2 days ago and told the same thing again. I have been a customer since 1998. The service has gotten so bad the last few months that I had to cancel service today. Too many missed pickups - too much time on the phone trying to get them to do their job. I give up. Oh! It has been over a week of calling multiple times and talking to various people and our trash has still not been picked up after promised dates. Not only are we a week behind but it is now 3:50 on our trash pick up day and it looks like a second weeks worth of trash will be sitting at the end of our driveway. Though the people I spoke to were very polite, they seem to have little authority considering this matter has yet to be resolved. Horrible costumer service! I called today to ask if they were still planning on picking up because of the bad weather from hurricane Irma. The woman I spoke with was extremely rude and would not answer that simple question without our account ID number. I gave it to her and it still was answered with attitude. After our phone call was over, there was an option to give a review and I did so. But after I gave the bad review, their machine said that they were having technical difficulties and hung up on me. In other words, they will not accept bad reviews. A friend of mine had the same issue with the review options, it WILL go through if it's a good review, it will NOT go through if it's a bad review. Also they have not picked up our recycling since NOVEMBER!!! We have been paying for it with nothing being done! We have even called and told them to pick it up, they said that they will put it on the list to do so and even then, they did not pick up. The recycling is just pizza boxes, bottles and cans. Had Republic for 3 years with few issues. For the past 8 weeks an increasing frequency of pickups being one then two and now 5 days late. Blue trash cans are sitting in every subdivision within 3 miles of us right now. Add in their quarterly invoice creep and we have big problems developing. Customer Service? Worse than Comcast and yes that is possible. Major issues with Republic and no one to explain why. Our entire subdivision has just voted to move to another sanitation service and I understand other neighborhoods are doing the same. For some reason, the truck picking up trash in my Lawrenceville neighborhood on Wednesday, 12/9 decided to skip emptying my trash can. My neighbors on the same side of the street and across the street had their trash picked up as scheduled. My trash can is always on the curb at 7am on pick up day and yesterday was no exception. I called their "customer service" at approximately 12n to report the missed pickup. I was told the truck would be sent back by the end of the day. Of course, the truck never showed. I called again at 9am this morning and was told the truck would be coming today. Of course, no truck has shown up. My full trash can is still on the curb waiting to be emptied with no explanation as to why my trash wasn't picked up. My bill is paid with my property taxes through Gwinnett County so I have no option to cancel with this company. This is absolutely unacceptable! read more

The trash pickup was missed 7 days ago and in spite of daily assurances that it would be picked up the next day or so and that it had been expedited, guess what? UPDATE: After I left this review, and not being able to find contacts aside from physical addresses for corporate, I posted this on their FB page. I immediately got a response from corporate. They then contacted the manager of the local office. He called me and ensured that they would pick up all of our trash today. Surprisingly they followed through and picked up everything. After so many let downs I wasn't sure if they would follow through. I would like to think that getting corporate involved will cause things to improve, but only time will tell. This is my first time ever leaving a yelp review but this needs one! I can't believe how bad this service has been. We have been customers for 5 weeks and our trash has been picked up twice! In the past 9 days we have had 7 phone calls with NO results! My husband was told that a supervisor would not be able to help us and the lady he was speaking to said she didn't even know who the manager was. He left his number and asked for management to call him back. A few hours later, after no call back, he called again and the guy said that my husband was talking to the regional manager that morning!! This is the worst company I've ever had pick up my garbage, when we first started service they picked it up every time and then started missing. Don't even bother putting in a missed pickup they won't come get it. They let it sit out there for 5 days before finally coming to pick it up this past summer. I called and complained and it got better for a little bit, now it's bad again. 3 weeks in a row they haven't picked it up on the day their supposed to come and don't come back to get it. If I could leave a negative review I would. I transferred my service to a new address 4 weeks ago, I was told my service would start on 8/7/2020. My garbage was not picked up, I called them for a missed pick up which should have been completed by 8/12/2020. It was not picked up but I was assured it would be picked up on Thursday 8/13/2020 AND I would get a phone call from the supervisor I spoke to with an update. Well, guess what happened? Neither the phone call, not the missed pick up. I figured that my trash would be picked up on Friday, 8/14/2020, my usual trash day. Nope. I have called no less than 8 times to get my garbage picked up. I have been told a different story every time I call. I was told Friday they do not service my area, but this is not true. This is not a difficult situation, it is a transfer of service (which wasn't completed either, as they have active accounts for both addresses.) I cancelled my service with them. I took my own garbage to the landfill. And as far as this being an issue because of Covid, I bought that excuse last week about the routes running short, but this is just now a matter of bad customer service. read more
