We recently stopped services with Republic because of missed pick ups and a $30 increase. We received a bill that originally said it was for the next quarters service but turned out to be a pick up fee of $75. This fee is hidden. When I called, the representative said that they were not obligated to tell you about these charges when you sign up. I signed up for Republic Garbage Service as a new customer and had a trash container dropped by my residence on January 10. My pickup day is Tuesday and I have not had any garbage picked up yet. My husband keeps calling to confirm service, someone keeps telling us the trash will be picked up the next day every time we call. All lies; no one has ever showed up. I am already looking for another service and would NEVER recommend Republic to anyone!!! They can't manage to service a new customer and I am dropping them like a hot potato. The worst trash service i have ever seen. My parents used them for few years and we owned our own trash can. They destroyed our can by slamming it down and broke the wheels and axle on the can. They gave us one of thier cans as a replacement for them destroying ours. Well five years later I make the mistake of start using them again for trash service. Started out around $60 for 3 months and was forced to get another trash can from them cause they stated they cant set up service with out a can in the deal. So then i have two trash cans. Well after 2 pay cycles and constant missed pickups they increased the cost per 3 months to $100 then a $50 fuel surcharge. I called them and said no i wasnt going to pay that and they dropped the fuel charge and reduced rest down to $90. I called and cancelled thier service before the next cycle began paid the $45 can pick up and wash out fee and the got the can. Then went into hospital for a month for heart complications and open heart surgery to come home and find they didnt cancel the service and tried taking me to court for another 3 months pay cycle. We had that resolved and now 7 months later they come to my house stop in the street walk up to my house and drag away the replacement can they gave us for destroying our can. Thieves and need to be put out of business! read more

After leaving another local waste removal company who hires people on meth late last year in favor of Republic who my parents have been with for years, I was finally satisfied with reliable service despite the significant price increase. I was willing to pay more for dependable pickups. My only complaint to date has been that the can is left in the middle of my driveway so when I pull in after work at night I have to literally drive into it to move it or stop my car on the busy street I live on to rush out and push it out of the way hoping someone doesn't come over the hill and rear-end me. Still, I considered this a minor inconvenience especially since if we didn't have our trash out at the very early 5:30-6:30 AM usual pickup time, we could still put it out as the driver always came back through in the afternoon. This has been very convenient. Last Friday, our regularly scheduled pickup day, around 7:15 AM, the truck driver (I assume a different person than who we have had) barreled right past our can as my husband stood by it trying to wave and get his attention. Irritating, but our usual driver always doubles back later in the day so we figured it would be picked up later. My Mom who lives across the street and a door down set her trash out a little later as well. Nobody ever came back to get our trash. My Mom called customer support who could only apologize and offered to send someone back the next available day which was four days later on Tuesday (today.) We had our trash out last night, ready to go. All day passed and finally I called Republic around 4 PM to ask if the pickup would be performed today as promised. The representative then told me that the pickup was scheduled for YESTERDAY. I was incensed. That is not what we were told. He apologized for the misinformation and said the soonest they could come back is Thursday. Almost an entire week later. I asked if they would pick up trash Friday as well since we pay for weekly Friday pickups and we are still owed for last week. I was promised yes, they would come back Friday as well. The results of this last attempt to get things worked out are yet to be seen but the disorganization, misinformation, and now unreliable service are enough to convince two customers to start looking elsewhere. Very disappointing, and it doesn't look like I'm alone from the slew of recent reviews. For the price, Republic should be doing MUCH better. read more

Live on dead end street in Benton Ky. The driver of truck was very rude said the reason for him not picking up my trash was because it was on wrong side of street. Now it's a dead end street and he has a mechanical arm that picks up cans he doesn't have to get out of truck. Goes right by my trash cans that he could pick up but is too lazy too. So they have to be in someone else's yard or he will not push a couple of buttons for my side of street. That is beyond laziness. That's more like just don't give a Fu** . But yet I am billed monthly for this so called service. This isn't a good company find other sources for trash pick up. I have no choice in the matter due to my water company has it subcontracted them to be trash service for our area praying someone else get the contract when it comes due. read more

Cancelled my service after 25+ yrs because of poor customer service at the mayfield ky office. The customer reps at this location are very rude, uncooperative and cannot keep their billing straight. After I cancelled my service because of disruption (due to the fact they cannot even manage direct pay by credit card) they charged me $60.00 to pick up their property from my property. This pick up was done by the weekly normal driver on my street. Not even an inconvenience to them! This charge was nothing short of revenge on their part. I will not pay this ludicrous fee even after they turned this charge over to a collection agency. I am very displeased, and have never had such experience with a service provider ever! read more
