Worst customer service and horrible organization. Ordered a dumpster for 9 days for almost $500. They dropped off on a Monday, picked up the next day in error. Picked up again in error on Friday. Had to call three times to get it back, and they acted like it was a favor they were doing to get me a smaller dumpster for the weekend that I already paid for! Wouldn't give any discount for inconvenience, and customer service rep "Roxanne" was extremely snotty. Cancelled entire garbage service with them. Will never do business with them again...ever! So it appears they were charging me for an entire 9 days, and then picking it up early to charge someone else for the weekend without prorating back to me. They never called either time stating they were coming to get. Not sure why they think I'd order it for 9 days if I didn't want it for nine days?!? Total idiots. read more

On 3/4, Republic delivered new garbage and recycling containers to all residences. I called the number provided and told the person that the recycling container was broken. I was told to put it out and it would be exchanged on the next service date, 3/12, after it was emptied. On 3/12 I called and reported that it had not been exchanged, and was told it was scheduled and would be exchanged later in the day by a separate crew. It was not, and on 3/13 I called and was told there was no record on the call, and it would be exchanged on the next service date, and was given 2 dates that are not service dates. After I provided the next service date, 3/26, I was told that it would be exchanged then. We will see. 3/27-The exchange was not done yesterday as promised. Called and was told the order had been cancelled. Was told the exchange would happen April 3. I reminded the person that was not my regular recycling pick up date, but was told to put it out April 3. As to the previous comment about providing address and phone number, I was not provided a contact to do that. We ill see, again! read more

I am so sick and tired of these people. They take a day off the week before the holiday and the week of a holiday. They sometimes just don't even show up. Sometimes they send an automated call at 3pm on garbage day saying they aren't coming that day at all. I am to the point where I am not going to try and keep it nice and tidy for pickup. We are all sick of bringing garbage out to the curb just to bring it back in over and over again. If you all ever do show up to work and there's piles of garbage at your front door, don't be surprised. Screw these guys, go back to waste management and don't ever look back. read more

Terrible customer service. I was charged a $9 a month container fee for 6 months for a container I did not have or need. It is impossible to set up online account due to change in provider and in order to talk to a person you wait over an hour. If you need to talk to customer service just call the local number listed and you'll get to talk to somebody in Indiana that doesn't even know where Ottawa Illinois is. They will pass on your message to the OTTAWA office and then they can call you and you can talk to Ms. Rude that works there. They delivered new containers to customers but neglected to mention that you have to pay rent of $21.00 per quarter. No other carrier requires rental fees and are cheaper for the same services. When you cancel service, they charge you to pick up their containers! That smell is not just garbage. read more

My husband and I have had services from Republic Services for over 10 years for our home. Their customer service is excellent. The drivers are careful and professional. I've called from time to time to leave a compliment for a driver who did something above and beyond what was expected and the person in the office who took the message sounded pleased. I felt that the team who work at Republic, both in the office and outside as drivers, seem to work well together. One occasion in which a driver went above and beyond is when I moved one of our cans to the street but forgot to move the 2nd one forward. Our driver moved the 2nd can forward and both cans were emptied. My husband and I have been consistently pleased with Republic's service. read more

Horrible company. Moved out of my house on 4/30/18, promptly cancelled the service and gave the forwarding address to mail the refund for two month service paid in advance. Called on 6/05/18 and 6/25/28. No refund check as of 7/04/17. read more

Pretty poor service. Called to set up service and they had no clue where our house was. Charged us an outrageous amount to deliver cans. Then we were double billed for service! Once through open market and once through our municipality. Then I watched a driver dump recycling and trash into the same truck! Took 4 or 5 calls to get the situation figured out and they missed 2 weeks of pick up! Finally, after living in our new home for 6 weeks, Republic Services May FINALLY have it figured out and our service restored. (Hopefully) Very disappointed in the way they operate. read more
