Absolutely the worst service I've ever received. Every time I need Trash service I have to call at least 3 times for them to do what I'm asking (just emptying the bins) and when I schedule online they mark the job as completed but they didn't actually do the service. My trash is still full. They are known for their terrible customer service. Unfortunately, they are the only Trash service in the area, if there were anyone else I would leave them in a heartbeat. Requested service for the beginning of May. Never received our bins and had to call several times to find out they were being delivered to a completely different address, not even in Corvallis. We had to contact them again and again as we continued not receiving our bins. Representatives were either an incompetent A.I. that could not comprehend this issue, or we were told that "the team is on it" with no date to expect service and no clarification of the correct address. After constantly emailing and calling for the thousandth time, we have an 'expected' date to receive our bins, a whole month later than when we originally scheduled, and no compensation was offered whatsoever. Horrible company to work with. If you call them, anticipate wasting your time speaking to a completely unhelpful A.I. robot, and do not expect any of your issues to be resolved. read more

This places call center is absolutely shit. If you call anytime after 4pm they don't answer and just leave you on hold until the place closes at 5pm. I had someone answer the phone after being on hold for a long time already and they didn't say a word until I hung up the phone. Moved my daughter up for college, and there were choke cardboard boxes leftover. Found this place and the customer service reps were very helpful and let me know that the recycling center is actually 1 block down on Belvue Ave. Very convenient setup with lots of bins, and best of all free. Just be pono and flatten any boxes. I wish we had this type of convenient center in Hawaii. The setup is so efficient, literally no waiting in line. I had the most unsatisfactory experience with Republic Services after my garbage was not picked up for two consecutive weeks without notice. I chalked up the first non-pickup to being a mistake, but the second non-pickup was suspicious. After calling I was told my bins were too close to the mailboxes and that the driver had "photographic evidence" of this. That's funny because on week 1 of non-pickup, the bins were yards away from the mailboxes. And even IF my bins were "too close", it would have been nice to have received a notice. Of course, I didn't. Republic Services refused to hear me out, did not provide me with information about disposal options for the 2 weeks of trash that was not picked up, and was quick to end the call. I wish there was an alternative waste disposal company in Corvallis because Republic Services has provided me with subpar service. read more

They tend to miss an awful lot of scheduled pickup days for residential service, including the last two weeks in a row for recyclables, even after being contacted. Also their automated emptying systems tend to fling trash and debris into the street when they come by, so they often leave the streets a mess on trash day. We refer to is as the "Republic tornado" Yes, "could've been better" is a fitting review regarding their curbside pickup service. However they do a good job maintaining the recycling center off Walnut and that is a nice convenience to have available. The website has improved over the past few years and at least has the ability now to report the missed pickups and broken carts when they do happen. Overall I guess the service is "ok." with room for improvement. read more

Started service almost two weeks ago & still do not have garbage or recycling bins promised since a week ago. Was looking up the recycle center hours and noticed some seriously negative reviews that are way off target. I moved to Corvallis ten years ago and my experience with Republic has been exceptionally good. Their cart fees are quite reasonable. Whenever I've had any issue, all it took was a phone call and it was resolved. I'm talking about stuff like when the wheel falls of your cart. Pick up the phone, quickly answered by a friendly and helpful agent, and a new cart - I wish everything in life was that easy! I also appreciate there other services. The recycle center off Walnut is super convenient and well maintained. Coffin Butte is convenient for me to haul larger items and debris from home projects, and the fee is quite reasonable. Keep Coffin Butte open, expand it when you need to, I'm all in favor. All in all a fair and hard working company who delivers great value for my money. read more

When you work with this company you must tape record every conversation, write down the names of everyone you talk to, and take video evidence of every detail. The simple fact is that they charged me for services that were not requested and were not delivered. since I made the mistake of trusting people like we do in corvallis, I have no proof that they have made mistakes. I did notify them of their mistakes in sending two dumpsters instead of one the second it arrived. I did notify them that the bill double charged and the bill had something else on it that I did not order and did not receive. I tried to call and reason with them, but just talked to someone making minimum wage in Texas who had not ability to do anything. This event I am describing was one experience among many. Buyer beware! Personally I plan to rent trucks to haul my own garbage and file complaints with the city, who know, maybe we can get decent service if enough people complain. read more

This is the second time in three weeks our trash wasn't picked up- despite having it in place the night before. We called and were told there was no reason. And that a truck would be by before the end of business AND that the "dispatch manager" would be calling us. Surprise- no pick up & no call. Went into office and ordered a dumpster for delivery in two weeks, it didn't show up called and they said they had no records of me ordering. Then they never explained that there was an alternative to hauling concrete to the dump. Two loads 20 yards cost me over $2,000. Plus it did not hold it all I wasn't going to pay $85.00 per day for dumpster plus $400. For pickup and delivery fee plus weight so I got a dump trailer from Albany rental for $80 a day and hauled it my self. read more

We had a dumpster delivered on a Friday and it was to be picked up Monday. When it wasn't picked up early Monday, I called the Corvallis office and the dispatch said they had it down for pick up on Tuesday. I said there was a miscommunication, I needed it picked up today. I have yard work and equipment coming, the dumpster will be in the way. The dispatcher assured me someone would be out but, it may be in the afternoon. It wasn't much more than an hour later and a driver from Republic pulled up and took our dumpster away. GREAT service!!! Thank you very much. Corvallis Disposal was a much better company to work with. Call the Corvallis number and talk to someone at corporate in AZ. Recycling container pickup is no longer free. They want $30 to deliver containers and start service. $55 a month for their smallest trash can and weekly service including recycling. At our home in AZ garbage service is $20 a month for a large can picked up twice a week. There is competition for our business there. Rant over read more

Worst company I have ever delt with. They misses my trash/recycling pickup many times. When I call their phone number to complain, it's always routed to AZ. ( Guess there is no local number?) They promise to pick it up the next day, however, it never happens. Looked at their web sight on what to do with old paint cans. (dried up paint inside.) It said to dispose of them normally, so I dropped them off at the recycling center. About 1 hour latter the cop is knocking on my door. They actually called the cops, and told him I was disposing hazmat! ( now they have their employees lying to the police dept!) Again I tried calling to complain, but guess what? All calls go to AZ. They'll bill you and refuse to refund for missed pickups, and then refuse to pickup because you have too much trash (because they missed the last three pickups!!!!!!) Seriously. As I type this, I've been on hold for just about twenty five minutes. Are you kidding me? That is ridiculous and horrible customer service. I'm calling because our trash was put out last night but was never picked up. This is not the first time this has happened but the last time when I called it went to a local dispatch and was promptly taken care of. There's something very wrong with being the monopoly in town AND having awful customer service. So, the phone was just answered and my concerns and questions were answered but not after being reamed out by the person who answered the phone when I mentioned that I'd been on hold for a half hour and that was way too long to be on hold. She chewed me out and continually spoke over me telling me how when she calls her phone company or electric company she's on hold for over an hour and I was lucky that anyone answered the phone at all because she said that most customer service is strictly automated now. It is? I've found out by calling and by reading these other reviews while on-hold that the customer service has moved out of state, she said she was in South Carolina...I think? I remember when you could call and talk to someone local and friendly to resolve any issues. Anyway, I found myself trying to calm HER down by saying that I appreciated her time and knew that she was doing her best and she had been helpful but that maybe she could pass along my complaint about the time it takes to get through to someone. I even said that I didn't think it was fair to them that they would be expected to deal with frustrated people like myself because the call center wouldn't hire more people to run it in a timely manner. Apparently their business end has moved to a "call center" somewhere NOT near here. 3 out of the last 5 times I've called to arrange a small dumpster delivery and removal, I had to wait over 40 minutes on hold.. I have worked with Republic Services in Corvallis for the last 15 years and their customer service has been exceptional. Not anymore! Now you are routed to a call center in Arizona which begins the nightmare. Not only do you wait on hold, last time 18 min. Most of the time I have hung up but I just wanted to see how long I actually had to wait. When finally connected you explain the problem they might take care of one part of it and then you are routed to someone else, which means more waiting on hold. For every item you are given a different reference code with no assurance of when or if your problem will be taken care. Time sensitive problems good luck you are told it will be submitted and you should get a response in 24 to 48 hours a lot of good that does. Lets see the latest, I called because pick-up was missed for three weeks. I just wanted to make sure it was emptied before Friday one of the busiest weekends of the summer. I also, requested a larger size container at another site because they had not left the size requested. The conclusion, 5 Reference Numbers, no call back, garbage is not dumped, and I have no idea if they are going to deliver the correct size by Friday.
