Do not drive behind one of their trucks, ever. Stuff flys out and if they damage your car, they won't cover it, and give you total run around. They're insurance company is a joke and says if it wasn't on video it never happened. My entire windshield got busted and witnessed something fly from inside of truck, i have pictures of truck, a police report, and yep, it never happened bc no video, Stay away from this company all the way around, their unfair and dont deserve anyones business!! In the past four weeks, we have had our trash picked up once. When we called after the first missed pick up, we were told they would send someone the following Monday. Never showed. Called after the second missed pick up. Assured that they would send someone the next day. Never showed. Today literally had to chase down the truck to get them to pick up our trash. I've had the business services with R. S. for 10 months now and it literally been non-stop missed pick-ups; problems with billing i.e. double billing and misapplied payments; and NO resolutions in spite of HOURS on the phone to customer services and attempting to resolve issues on their website - which is basically useless. As a business owner I am amazed they are in business, but I assume it's due to their slightly lower pricing, and availability of different size bins/dumpsters. But words cannot capture aggravation and stress of trying to use this extraordinarily poor service. After doing everything I could to work with the company and resolve the bombardment of problems I finally tried to cancel service today and was told I had a service agreement for a year. I don't remember any service agreement and asked for a copy. The individual that I spoke with said she couldn't see it in my records, but "thought" I had one. I told her to provide me with a written copy ASAP. So, the cancellation is still pending. It literally never ends with them. They have 2,399 Better Business Bureau complaints on file - that says it all. PLEASE, for your own sake, keep this review and all of those complaints in mind when considering the service. read more

Worst of the worst. The longest garbage strike in NYC history lasted almost two weeks. It made the national news every night. Imagine that...no garbage pick up for nearly two weeks. Well, it's been THREE weeks since Republic has managed to pick up the trash in our area...well, Hopefully it will be picked up by the end of the third week, I guess I'm probably giving them too much credit. An absolute abomination. Never have i had a company fail me so consistently. I attempted to start services contact the regional representative. Couldn't get set up at that first call so I called every day after. Was ignored for 3 weeks. Then called the customer service line they got things rolling a little. It took them 3 weeks to get my account running wven though I had paid and given all information needed. Then for an additional 3 weeks never once came to give the service I was paying for. Then when I canceled took me calling 4 times before they actually did their job to cancel the account. Worst customer service I've ever dealt with. Worst company I've ever dealt with. read more

This company is pure garbage no pun intended. They will randomly give you outrageous fines so they can scam more money out if you. They did not pick up my dumpster for 3 weeks...after many calls to the company they finally came out. But unfortunately being a small business we had no choice but to pile the trash up. So they felt it was necessary to fine me almost a $1000 for "overage", even tho they were the ones that didn't pick it up in three weeks. So I switched companies... I only got to enjoy a few blissful months with my new company before it got bought out by Republic...ugh...say it ain't so!!! It's only been a few months and I'm already dealing with the same issues, no trash pick up and large fines for mystery dumpsters that don't even exist. This company is horrible. I have a daycare downtown where trash is to be picked up daily. They skip Fridays yet claim they performed the services. Each time they assign a new representative to my account my fees automatically increase. The account Rep Jacqui / Jackie is horrible lies like crazy and doesn't give a hoot about the type of service they don't perform. DON'T BE FOOLED AT THEIR LOW START UP RATE Before 1 year is up you'll be paying double. Jacqui refuses to return my calls regarding failure to pick-up on Fridays yet she makes sure she increases my monthly rate. DON'T USE THIS GARBAGE COMPANY... If they offered zero (0) stars then that's what they would have received. The company is overdue by a month in picking up dumpsters that are overflowing with rubbish. They have been called at least twice weekly with the same results, none. So the person that responds to these complaints is just as bad, if not worse, as the company itself. You should be ashamed to run a business in this manner for all customers. BTW, the garbage you refuse to remove is for a church. We got a contract with Republic for a larger dumpster. After two weeks of service, the driver, for an unexplained reason, moved the dumpster to the main parking lot of our building where it takes up needed parking spaces and is an eyesore. After three calls over a six-week period, we finally got Republic to give us a smaller dumpster. After another month, Republic agreed to agree to move the dumpster back to the rear of the building. I was told to spray paint an X where we wanted the dumpster. I did that. The driver moved it to the handicap pad at the back entrance, thereby blocking the handicap parking and delivery access to the building. This is not where I painted the X. We spent nearly two hours on the phone again trying to get them to move it to the agreed location. Be prepared to wait a long time when you call with any kind of problem. The driver was supposed to call us 20 minutes before he arrived so we could meet him for placement. He didn't call. The driver put the dumpster back in the parking lot where he originally moved it to without permission. This is where we specifically told him not to put it. (Aug 12, 2021 Update) Republic informed us that they can't service the dumpster where it is currently located. They claim the alley is too small. This claim isn't credible for two reasons: 1. The dumpster was serviced from that location for 6 years with a prior company with the same sized dumpster. Republic claims that the other company used smaller trucks. They can't possibly know that since I've never told them who our previous company was. 2. The Republic truck driver either serviced or moved the dumpster through the alley on four occasions. The bottom line is that a driver has decided to deliver bad customer service, and the company won't make it right. The only solution they offered was to remove the dumpster and replace it with two large garbage cans serviced from the same location using the same truck. So, their solution was to do nothing except give us less service. Beware when working with Republic. read more

If you want your trash to be picked up at completely different hours (as early as 630AM or as late at 630PM, unexpectedly knowing when they'll come) and a different day, that is advertised/scheduled, then this is the service for you! Can't tell you how many times I've missed trash collection based on thinking (maybe hoping) they were sticking to a scheduled, and will get blindsided by a pick up two to three hours earlier (case and point the 630AM pick up today after they were picking up between 8-10AM). Guess I will start putting my trash out the night before. Will it fall over and make a mess in the middle of the night? Who knows?! But at least I can say I won't miss them anymore! Oh and loved the hot tip from their customer sercive line that "Bulk Pickup" is Wednesday, but (surprise!) the bulk items didn't get picked up! Even if you call to confirm this will happen, jokes on you, it won't. read more

I can not believe what I and my family have gone thru over the past week. We have republic services until December 31st and then thank goodness we'll have a different trash and recycling service. Because of where my house sits and because of laziness the recycling guys have been moving our trash on to our neighbors yard. This has become a very serious issue as one of our neighbors kept bags of our trash, went through it extensively and proceeded to threaten and harass us with very personal details and claim that we do not have trash service. Because of laziness on this company's part our Christmas was ruined and we've been in emotional distress for days..this is NOT ok. I honestly wish there was a 0 stars option. read more

We use Republic Services for our commercial trash/recycling pickup. They could not be more unprofessional (sales reps who won't respond to repeated emails regarding incorrect or incomplete service, price gouging (change your contract rate in the middle of your contract with no warning), skipping pickups, not removing their dumpsters when you've asked them to do so repeatedly). Try calling the local phone number for help - you'll reach someone in another state who will promise to get a response to you, but then no one will ever contact you. Awful, awful, awful. I didn't think it was possible to have a worse company than Waste Management pick up our garbage until these guys started. Cans left in the street, lid ripped off can, trash missed, and a just don't care attitude. If something drops on the way to the truck, just leave it no matter where it falls. We had Valley for 2 years before Waste Management and currently we have Republic but Valley did a fantastic job AND our garbage bill was a lot less. Why any community would give up Valley is beyond me. read more
