I decided to use this busines to remove some of my belongings and normally I would use other businesses. What was appalling is that when they took my boxes they threw them in the truck. So the toaster oven, dinner plates, clothing, etc. broke and where no longer usable for donation. I paid a pretty penny for this and they did not even give me any discount either. Moving across country, two days before leaving the person who was to come to get our queen mattress was a no-show. I called for help at 9 pm and the next day at 8 am Kumane and David were here. The entire process took about ten minutes and that included them removing it down two floors with super steep steps, payment, and chit-chat. The guys were so professional and kind. They really understood how to handle my neurotic behavior. Honestly, 1800JUNK is so lucky to have them. I'll have to say when I did call for an appointment and was told the estimate would be given on-site, I was a little hesitant. But I asked for a ballpark figure and the rep stated approximately $139 and that was the exact quote I received from the guys. To me, it was more than fair considering the last minute booking and having to remove the mattress from a true city apartment located three floors above a business in the heart of Bloomfield. They arrived on time and gave me a what I considered a high estimate of cost to remove the items I wanted removed. They went about taking out the items with no problem. In the end the cost estimate of 7/8 of a truck was the estimated load I would have to pay. At that point I didn't wish to argue and paid the invoice but it was not 7/8 of a truck. Busness model is horrendous. They price gouge. I filled out info online thinking I was filling it out for an estimate before setting an appointment for pickup. But, nOoOoo, it was the appointment for a slot within an hour without any pricing info. I quickly called the 1 800 number to get pricing. They promptly answered the phone and it was explained that they will first look and give an estimate to which I can accept or not. If I accept, they take stuff right then, else they leave and no charges for coming out. Ok, sounds good. And within minutes the movers call to say they will be out within half an hour. Two employees with truck arrived promptly. I have a 3 seat sofa, loveseat and chair to be hauled away. Note I had already had one estimate from a mover but that company needed to reschedule. These employees explain that pricing is based on volume taken up in their truck. A full truck would be 700 and my load would be 500. 500 dollars. Ummm, nope i said. Too much. I declined their service. They ask how much i thought was reasonable. I was honest and let them know previous estimate was 250. They step outside to call the office then come back and say office has oked 250. I let them haul it off for that, paying by credit card, and they were polite, professional, and quick. I opted not to tip based on price gouging practice. So 1 star based on business model of price gouging. Also, the ok for 250 was verbal. If they had loaded the truck and demanded another higher price, I had nada, zip, nothing in writing of an estimate to hold them to. Yikes! So, no, no, nope. Do NOT recommend!! read more

Considering as we would find out this job was one of the largest apartment clean outs they ever did. It's not cheap but they do a good job. Thing is they basically have large garbage bags and rakes and it's physically intense. They did a great job and it's gonna take a few hours kids. I did not use 1-800-GOT-JUNK for my disposal service because I found another way to haul it out of my house. When I tried to call and cancel it on the morning of (they were scheduled to come later that night), they took my information as I informed them I needed to cancel the appointment. The lady confirmed that she saw I had quoted the removal of a dresser. For some bizarre reason she had to place me on hold for a good 8 minutes. When she finally picked up the phone again, she told me they still had to come that night to quote my removal. WHAT?! No... if someone calls to cancel their quote, cancel it. If you can see their information on the computer, CANCEL IT ON THE SPOT. Do not have people wait on hold and then tell them they still have to get a quote when they've told you they don't need it. So bizarre and such a let down of a process. Can't say I will consider them in the future just based on their customer service. read more

I just moved into my first home and unfortunately, the prior owners left a bunch of old furniture and building supplies in the basement and garage for me to get rid of. In trying to abide by the city's trash pickup parameters, I became overwhelmed when I realized it was going to take me weeks, if not months, to properly & respectfully get rid of everything. I just decided to look up junk removal and 1-800-GOT-JUNK was one the first companies I came across. They had great reviews on Google and Yelp, so I decided to give it a shot. I booked my appointment completely online, I did not have to pre-pay, and I was able to get in for the very next morning (9:30 on a Sunday nonetheless)! The driver gave me a call that they were a little bit behind schedule because of a large job, but they would arrive by 10:00, and wanted to know where they could park. When the 2 guys arrived at 9:45, they immediately assessed the 'junk' and offered me 2 quotes depending on how it would fit on the truck- I agreed and they got to work. The only thing they were unable to dispose of were paint cans filled with wet paint (they said if it had dried out, they could, but since it was wet, I needed to buy a hardener or kitty litter to dry it out and then put it out with my other household trash & the city trash people would take it). They filled up 5/8 of the truck in 15 minutes. It was astounding! They also left ZERO mess in the driveway (a feat since some of the junk was yard logs and other yucky stuff). They took my payment info and gave me several options for a receipt, and they were on their way. The guys were uniformed, friendly, and very efficient. They were honest about pricing & filled the section of the truck from top to bottom (since you get charged by how much volume your junk takes up, that is very important!) I would not hesitate to use 1-800-GOT-JUNK again. They quickly and efficiently took my junk for a very reasonable price and all without leaving a mess or making me wait weeks for them to show up. I highly, highly recommend them for all of your disposal needs! Seriously. This company is WILDLY unprofessional and apparently takes pride in shady business practices aimed at taking advantage of young women. On 3/22/24, they showed up and took a look at the sectional they were quoting removal for and said $300 minimum. I told them they could leave at that price and they tried to negotiate with me and kept stalling, asking "Well how much did you think it would be?" etc etc despite telling them that the conversation was over and they were to leave. When given a reasonable price, they balked at it and said that sectional removal starts at $300. Rather than give an overview of cost publicly or on the phone ahead of time, they show up trying to swindle people in the heat of the moment with a truck outside waiting. Once told again to leave, the two men tried to take the television. They were INSISTENT upon them buying it before they left... what?! Absolutely unbelievable and incredibly disgusting. In the past several years, I have used this junk-removal company five times. (See my previous reviews below.) I am updating my review today because this company has increased its prices over time. Today, I paid $264 to fill up 1/4 of their truck, and that price included $35 off from a coupon. I have always conveniently made my appointments on their website, and they have always called me to confirm what types of junk I have and their arrival time. The employees always have friendly, perky personalities, and they always arrive on time. I am allowed to pay with either a credit card or a check, and they give me a carbon copy and a PDF copy of my receipt. They have accepted the following types of junk from me: a couch, wooden boards, metal shelves, mirrors, styrofoam, a printer, window blinds, closet doors, and light fixtures. As long as the prices do not increase further, this business will continue to be my go-to for junk removal into the foreseeable future. read more

After dealing with the company, Waste Management, who failed to remove our special pickup after it sitting in our front yard during the 3 day window they gave us and refused to pickup more than half the load we contacted 1-800-GOT-JUNK who was more friendly on the phone, gave us a TWO HOUR window on the same day and removed the entire load in ten minutes we will never stray again. The crew was friendly and polite. We highly endorse them each and everyday. I requested an 11:30-1:30 pick up window, they called the day before to confirm, and called at the beginning of the window to let me know it would be towards the end of the window. I said ok, 1:30 then. They called back again at 1:45 saying it will be even later, closer to 2:30 because they need to switch trucks. At 2:50 they are still not here, have not called and will not respond to my calls. They are charging 89$ for removing a single mattress and I have been stuck at home all day waiting for them. I do not recommend at all. UPDATED: almost immediately after I posted this review I received a call and they now have a crew on the way to me (30-40 minutes) and they waived the charge for the removal. Whatever estimate you imagined, you might want to add another 20%-30%. I was charged $99 for the removal of an 18 year old Toshiba 27 inch television. They guys were very professional and polite, but they are careful not to disclose pricing over the phone. During the call they claimed the cost would be determined by the space the items took up on the truck. NOT TRUE! They have a fee schedule broken out by item. They figure if the guys are already there and you want to get rid of the stuff bad enough, you'll pay it. That's what I did--now I'm kicking myself. Bottom-line is they get the job done, but you're damn sure going to pay for it. Call around before you commit!!! read more

I am happy to be rid of my junk. The employees that came to my home were polite, understanding and speedy. They were in and out within half hour. They did not cause any damage. The only reason i am giving four stars is because they did not call 15 to 30 minutes before the quoted time like i was told and when i called the lady over the phone quoted me one price and the employees quoted me another higer price . The employees told me that they were not spouse to quote me over the phone but they would talk to their manager who gave me the phone quoted price. The woman on the phone, Amy, was very friendly and informative. The movers, Darrell and Eric, arrived shortly after I called and grabbed not only the mattress, but the wooden planks we used for a homemade box spring. They were also very friendly and talkative. They asked questions about my life while we worked and shared a little bit about themselves as well. It was an overall wonderful experience and I would highly recommend them and this company to anyone in need of this type of removal service. 1-800-GOT-JUNK came to our house to remove an armoire from an upstairs bedroom. It was a large piece of furniture, so we suggested that they take it out in two pieces to make it lighter and easier to maneuver. They did, but then proceeded to drag it across our hardwood floors, scratching huge, deep gouges in the wood. We pointed that out, and after a lot of arguing and resistance that went on for months, they finally agreed to pay to repair the floors--with the exception of $1000, which we had to contribute to the repairs. And they still charged us more than $300 to move the piece of furniture. Unscrupulous business. Very unprofessional. I recommend you look elsewhere. read more

I've used them twice to remove couches from an apartment and a house. One couch was enormous and had to come down a flight of stairs. They were in and out without a hassle, and didn't damage anything on the way out. Both crews I had were very friendly and priced me at whatever I was quoted on the phone. Side note: I forgot to have cash handy when the second crew came by, so I couldn't tip them. I was apologetic, but the guys were gracious and laughed it off. We called and specified that we had possibly 6 units of furniture to remove. The guy on the phone gave us a range of price it might be. When we scheduled the removal, the guys was over a hour late. Not only was he over a hour late, but during that entire hour he kept calling saying he was 5 minutes away and would be there on time. He was 5 minutes away for a hour though. When they finally arrived, we only had 4 pieces of furniture since we were able to give 2 pieces away to people in need. So we thought our estimate would be closer to the lower end of the range we were originally provided in cost. Nope, it was about double the high end. Made no sense. It was cheaper to buy and have someone ship and build the furniture than it was for someone to simply remove it. What a joke. read more

I have to say, I was skeptical of 1800 junk and all of its five star reviews. But we had an old tube tv that weighed about 300 lbs (three adults working together couldn't move it!), and there was no commitment to book an appointment online so I figured I'd give it a shot. I booked an appointment for between 8 and 10 am Monday morning on only two days notice, two guys showed up at our place around 8:10. We payed just over $200 to have three TVs (one huge tube TV and two smaller TVs) and a TV stand removed. Not cheap, but there don't seem to be many alternatives given PA's laws on electronics recycling. The employees were polite and efficient. Highly recommend. read more

I had 4 moves with junk hauling last month in March.2015. Granted pricing is comparable with these other 2 but these guys from your company who came out to my houses did a stellar job. I asked one of the other junk guys I had to hire kinda on the spot in April s why they did not bring bags and brooms and dustpans, and got that look of "what", and when he said "we don't sweep up the broken glass etc" and that was the turning point for me to have 1800-got-junk do the final 2 houses worth of junk removal and spent almost 2grand with 1-800-got-junk I was so happy with the service. I have already told as many people as I can NOT to use these "other" local hauling companies, and if I would have taken a video of your guys cleaning up after themselves compared to these other people I would have posted it on youtube read more
