Big shout out-out to Patricia, our wonderful counselor who held the hands of both my wife and our wonderful carrier throughout this beautiful process. The whole organization, from the caring counselors, to the legal expertise of Melissa and Nancy, to the contacts that help you with insurance and legal matters, to the clinics that they have confidence working with, really made the process as easy as it could have been, for a journey such as this.
Partaking in a surrogate journey, one needs to feel confident that the investment is worth it, but importantly, and this is what my wife and I tell everyone, if it fails (and there's a good chance that it will...) you want to feel that you and your support system did everything possible. My wife and I have tried international adoption, local adoption, many rounds of treatments, and throughout the whole process we never felt that we got the best opportunity for success. We never felt that, "hey, we are working with the best people to get our family..." With RP, and all the support we received, even if we didn't get our beautiful daughter, we would leave positive reviews. This is a key thing to remember, understanding that not getting pregnant is not an impetus to leave a negative review, but rather, did your support system do their jobs. With RP, it was a resounding yes!
Our carrier was a bit older, but passed all of her examinations, and we hit it off right away. When there were misunderstandings or minor mis-communications, Patricia, Melissa/Nancy, and the team were always quick to jump in and resolve things in a clear and timely manner. We genuinely feel that Patricia, especially, is now more a friend then just our counsel.
With our wonderful daughter now thriving, we are a family but more importantly, we went through this journey smoothly such that everyone, my wife, our carrier, all parties involved feel important and cared for. No one feels marginalized, everyone feels empowered and/or treated appropriately. We'll probably (I say probably) be one and done, so we have no motivation for leaving any review that is not true. PM me for any questions, and give Patricia a call.
For anyone wondering about negative reviews, ask them this: are they mad because there was no pregnancy (which can happen even with the best support system, that's the risk no matter what)? Because that's not fair. Also, are people leaving negative reviews because they are insisting on 23 yo carriers? Because a 23yo carrier is not always better than a 40 yo, who has the mental maturity, the family support, and the experience to be a better carrier. A 40yo uterus which proven fertility is just as good as a younger uterus. Is it an expensive process, yes it is. But every dollar is accounted for, and I trust RP explicitly with finances. read more
