I was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled across this shop. It's been at Purdue for 25 years and is the underground spot for Purdue athletes starting all the way back with Drew Brees. She's always playing classical piano in the shop and it's very clean and peaceful. I can't recommend River Hair Care enough!!

My stylist was very nice and everyone else was. However, I feel like my hair didn't look like the pictures I showed. My stylist was very nice about trying to fix and give me curtain bangs, but I feel like they were more like normal bangs without face framing. At that point I just left before my hair was cut shorter. I like my hair overall and maybe next time I should be more clear. Pretty good service, a little pricey, but a nice salon. I did have to go home and use my hair scissors to add more framing to my face. But maybe that was just me haha.

I suggest using the address for Hana market instead and you'll see SheeK right next door. I was styled by the guy who works there. He said he's a stylist from Korea and doesn't speak much English which worried me but he did an amazing job!! I came in to get my hair cut and angled. I chose to get it cut short so the end product was a little longer than chin length in the front. I just showed him a few pictures and agreed to a length and he took over the rest. I was very happy that after the initial cut, he noticed that my hair was on the thick side and decided to thin out the bottom. This definitely made all the difference in how my hair looks now and makes it so much more manageable. He seriously knows what he's doing! I got my hair cut mid-October and now at the beginning of November it still looks great! My cut was $27 which I think was very reasonable for the quality of work. I highly recommend SheeK for everyone.

It was a bit hard to find the entrance to the salon, but once inside it was cute and cozy. The front desk gal had me fill out some paperwork and then I went down stairs where the spa location is. The aesthetician who did my facial was pleasant and did a good job. Full hour service, which included hydration, exfoliation, mask, massage. Skin felt really good afterwards. Price was $65 which is reasonable for an hour facial. Unfortunately tip cannot be added on the card, and it's a bit of a hassle to add on a tip if one does not have cash. Good to know for next time. Would recommend - although it would be helpful for them to indicate where the front door is!

I walked in, and was not by any means greeted with kindness...you would have thought I must have looked like I was going to rob the place with the way/tone I was greeted with. Not a hello, not a smile, just a, "CAN I HELP YOU?" by a lady, who honestly looked like she might even own the place. Older lady, short (reddish?) hair. I was a little taken aback, but I understand sometimes greetings can be difficult. I walk up to the desk, and explain to the lady that I wanted to do something special for my mom's birthday on a Monday. I don't come to salons often, so I was truly just looking for some KIND insight. Instead of really being any help at all, let alone kind, the lady (in my opinion) very rudely says, "WELL, we aren't even open on monday. Most salons aren't open on Monday." Like I said, I am not at salons often, which I thought I made obvious with my humble questions I asked her initially. Instead of a comforting, kinda response, she talks to me in a tone and (i also think the response) as if I'm stupid. Call me crazy, but if you want people's business, maybe consider not making the customer feel stupid. I'm sure maybe the services they offer here are probably done fine, but I can tell you right now kindness goes a long way. I can truly say I dodged a bullet by not giving this business my money--let alone taking my mom here for her birthday.

I had come in thinking it would be very straight forward but because I'm not a stylist I put confidence in them and tried to trust the process. All I wanted was for the roots to match the rest of my hair. I would just like a refund as it was 170$ in all at the end of the day and it's worse than when I went in.
