This review is a little late but I ordered balloons from KD Sales in October for my grandsons…read morebirthday, since I live in Chicago I needed to do everything over the phone. They were not friendly, I spoke to two different people, once when placing my order and then again when confirming my order the day before the party. When placing the order the gentleman who I spoke to sounded annoyed, as if I was bothering him. I was asking for specific colors but seeing that they are a balloon supplier I didn't feel these were outrageous requests. . The color theme was blue, dark blue, light blue, white and sea foam. Basic simple colors 2 dozen 6 of each. When I arrived to my daughters the balloons were delivered and instead of dark blue they brought black. Seeing that I confirmed this order the day before I was annoyed that they got it wrong. In addition the women I spoke to when confirming was sharp and snippy I was barely able to get a thank you out before she hung up the phone. Now, keeping perspective, this was a child's birthday and nothing was ruined due to this error, I thought about calling but with my previous phone experiences I didn't feel they would be very responsive and why add to my irritation. I won't order from them again as there is a certain level of customer service you should be able to expect and unfortunately in my case KD sales made no attempt to convey even the basic customer service courtesies.

This is a great little specialty shop in Kalamazoo. I go here for costume and novelty item needs…read more They have a large selection of costumes and accessories. The tops of the shelves in the main showroom are topped with stacks of any kind of hat you can imagine. The back room has shelves and shelves of labeled cardboard boxes containing wigs, boas, gloves, costume jewelry and other props. There are many gag gifts here. You can find lots of little toys (bounce balls, plastic animals, cars, airplanes, etc.), perfect for filling gift bags for children's birthday parties. Stickers, makeup, party decorations...you name it, they probably have it. Be warned that the store is a little dingy and is not in the best neighborhood. That said, I have always found the staff very friendly and helpful. Appearances can be deceiving.

Family arrived after the memorial service and we had no cover or seating. Upon calling they did admit their error but did not offer to refund any money, only offered a discount the next time they were needed.

I would avoid this business at all costs. We dealt with many vendors for our family wedding, and…read morehis is the only one I would tell people to avoid no matter what the cost, or even if they are a preferred venue contractor. The guy who owns this place called the morning of the wedding to tell us they would not be setting up the chairs for the ceremony, that the pallets with the chairs in storage bags sitting in the middle of the aisle was what his people do. This was after his daughter had asked us on two occasions if we were setting up chairs or if they were, and both times we responded "You are setting up". Very unprofessional, family does no wrong attitude. Daughter never makes mistakes was dad's response. The fact that the tent was set up with the poles right up the center of the aisle was a minimal inconvenience, even though we had been told the tent would be off-center to the gazebo so that the poles could be on one edge of the sidewalk. Just another example of the business saying what you want to hear in the sales phase and lack of follow through on the day of the event. Finally, the crew showed up before the ceremony was over - parked and lowered their ramp across the only exit before guests had left. One of the groomsmen had to intercept the workers and tell them to come back in half an hour as we weren't finished with the ceremony yet. I think they would have started packing up the empty chairs if he hadn't done this. The chairs and tent were still there when we went to pick up center pieces more than 24 hours later. Still watching credit card closely to make sure he doesn't slide in additional charges for this.
