We realized how little we could dance, so we signed up for their Simply Social 5-session dance class (even got a Groupon for it and saved some $). We have continued to have so much fun in the class, and it's been good for us to go out together (now that the kids are older) and do something just for us. We're almost done with the second 5-week session and look forward to starting the third! Many thanks to the patient, fun and engaging instructors for helping my two left feet appear far less awkward!

This review is a little late but I ordered balloons from KD Sales in October for my grandsons…read morebirthday, since I live in Chicago I needed to do everything over the phone. They were not friendly, I spoke to two different people, once when placing my order and then again when confirming my order the day before the party. When placing the order the gentleman who I spoke to sounded annoyed, as if I was bothering him. I was asking for specific colors but seeing that they are a balloon supplier I didn't feel these were outrageous requests. . The color theme was blue, dark blue, light blue, white and sea foam. Basic simple colors 2 dozen 6 of each. When I arrived to my daughters the balloons were delivered and instead of dark blue they brought black. Seeing that I confirmed this order the day before I was annoyed that they got it wrong. In addition the women I spoke to when confirming was sharp and snippy I was barely able to get a thank you out before she hung up the phone. Now, keeping perspective, this was a child's birthday and nothing was ruined due to this error, I thought about calling but with my previous phone experiences I didn't feel they would be very responsive and why add to my irritation. I won't order from them again as there is a certain level of customer service you should be able to expect and unfortunately in my case KD sales made no attempt to convey even the basic customer service courtesies.

The tops of the shelves in the main showroom are topped with stacks of any kind of hat you can imagine. The back room has shelves and shelves of labeled cardboard boxes containing wigs, boas, gloves, costume jewelry and other props. There are many gag gifts here. You can find lots of little toys (bounce balls, plastic animals, cars, airplanes, etc.), perfect for filling gift bags for children's birthday parties. Stickers, makeup, party decorations...you name it, they probably have it. Be warned that the store is a little dingy and is not in the best neighborhood. That said, I have always found the staff very friendly and helpful. Appearances can be deceiving.

We had made our guests' welcome bags with the shuttle information prior to the event and we found out the timeline that we had sent to the shuttle company a few weeks prior never was approved by their team. This just led to a quiet ride and bored us a bit on the ride back to town. Having some tunes would have helped! They did what they had to do the day of and executed just fine.

Housekeeping and front desk staff were polite and helpful. I often saw housekeeping cleaning around the hotel, from restrooms to even signs. I appreciate that the hotel appeared clean and well-maintained. My room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was small and a bit cramped, but it was fine for just me. Guests can conveniently park in the parking garage located across the street, which is connected to the hotel by a skywalk. You can use your hotel key to enter and exit the parking garage. Additionally, there is a box for dropping off your keys upon departure from the parking garage. It is expensive unless you get a group rate discount. Overall the facilities were super nice, including the ballroom on the first floor, the ballroom on the basement level where we had meals, and the hotel itself. I parked in the parking structure across the street both days, it was expensive ($2-$2.75 per hour) but the *heated* skywalk from the structure to the hotel was super nice. My only tiny complaint is that the ballroom on the first floor was a bit cold - I didn't notice it as much yesterday, but today I'm wearing a long-sleeved T-shirt and no sweater and I'm cold. (May go retrieve my coat from the coat check!) Fun story, I also stayed at this hotel about 20 years ago when I took the test for the WMU medallion scholarship (circa late 2004/early 2005, I believe) and I remember thinking the rooms were nice then, too. The hotel is currently undergoing some renovations also, I believe their restaurant is under construction but there's still a restaurant option open. Overall I really liked this hotel, at least for a conference, and would return.
