Despite the fact you feel refusing a refund is substantiated by a less the acceptable level of quality effort... i would like to take a moment to show you the concern. The response email clearly shows The renter is attempting to report an unauthorized sublease This is an accusation and based off pure ignorance without due diligence. I'm sure public records showed the home owner to be Carla and i reported William. Carla and my farther are domestic partners and have been in a relationship for over 10 years. Who do i pay rent to? My father and in the aspect of who is managing the property the answer is correct. The term unauthorized was never verified or validated and if asked i would have given Carla's number. Insulted and left with a bad taste over the the accusation that is then further fulled by telling me the "good news is We have not reported your attempt to add false rental payments to your credit file to any state or local authorities or the credit bureaus" No let me revert the good news, Nothing was false and you saved yourself a lawsuit by not reporting any potentially damaging information that would have been a direct FCRA violation. The unprofessional communication did however irritate a busy consumer to write a review. PS to add to it, the address i'm reporting is already reporting on my credit report just making this so much more ridiculous. I even sent in a letter from the IRS as proof of address.... So I first loved this service, then had some issues and I changed to a 3 star review. However, they ultimately resolved the issues as well created a solid plan to independently verify my rent payments even though my landlord now refuses to offer this service. So again I an back to a 5 star review. In total I have been with RK for 30+ months and this positive trade line on my credit report definitely helps, plus is assisting in qualifying for a home purchase/mortgage. I am not sure what the negative reviews are about because this is not a scam and it absolutely helps your credit. I have been a client of theirs for 30+ months now and not only did I see an immediate positive increase in my credit score by over 20 points within 60 days it has maintained too. I recently added my wife who is new to the country and just received residency status and her SS# etc. She is on my lease agreement but she had no credit prior due to not having a SS# in the past. Rental Kharma confirmed everything and now with this service she has a credit score, a trade line, and just got approved for her first credit card. I went on there website and purchased a 24 month back rent register and a month to month service. I was exited! A couple of days after I received a call from them requesting more information. ID? That may not be a bad thing for some but for me it was awful situation. I was not able to have any money for Christmas gifts or pay off my end of the month bills. I was still grateful my grandkids are all healthy. This caused me to rethink how I could pay my bills. So I called to cancel the bill and ended up speaking with two separate CSR. The first was a gentleman who I cancelled with first. I got my receipt by email and decided to call right back with a question. I ended up speaking with the second CSR and I explained my circumstances. She stayed on the line while I looked for some information. I told her since I could not find the document at that moment, she said don't worry I can call you back in a few minutes. I told her give me 10 minutes. She called me back in 10 minutes and helped me out because she had done some researching. Jordan the CSR, was able to cut my payment in half since I was a senior and she would be able to move my payment date out. I told her that I would be able to now keep this monthly payment and great service. I have not seen such a beautiful spirit in a person in the CSR field for awhile. Rental Kharma is fantastic! At first I was a little apprehensive, but I thought I'd try for $3.95. The way they do it is they verify your rent amount with the person or company that you pay. They put it on your credit report like a loan. When you pay your rent, it gets "applied" to the loan, making it seem like you're paying off your loan every month. My goal of 2015 was to improve my credit ranking. I did rental kharma, gotta secured credit card through my credit union, took out a $250 loan and with those 3 things...I saw my Credit Score go up almost 100 points. Credit Kharma works. It seems sketchy because it's a fairly new company. I did my research. I hadn't seen any negative remarks against the company. You don't get rich without taking chances in life. It works. I can not say enough good things about this company. Today I went to cancel my services not because Rental Kharma did anything wrong but because my property management company pretty much refused to cooperate and verify my rental history and let me know that personally. I then Courtney and Erik with Rental Kharma to let them know and they then went to work for us. They didn't just give up when I pretty much told them that they wouldn't be able to help me, they worked their magic, did some epic digging and were able to find my payments and verify them in literally like 20min! Save your time and your money. This does nothing for your credit. All this company does is take your money if you don't cancel before 90 days you are out of luck they keep your money. I once wrote a bad review and the owner Colin called me yelling at me why did I write a negative review. I took it down because he told me to give them a chance it literally increased my credit by 1 point I mean seriously 1 point I didn't pay 100.00 for 1 lousy point. Terrible service! My rent is due on the 5th and even after telling them this they called my landlord over and over again on the 1st of the month, two months in a row! This month they called my landlord to "confirm my move out date" which mad my poor landlord call me sounding worried because he thought I was sneaky and trying to move away without telling him! And they still ONLY report to Transunion and I literally signed up because they assured me it would only be a month or so until they report to Equifax also and that was in November 2020! These people just lied to me saying they never called my landlord to check on a move out date that they left a message to verify my March payment which my landlord has the voice mail! read more

I tried Rental Kharma in August, 2014. My landlord sent in 24 months of my rental history and began providing monthly updates in September, 2014. In October, 2014, Rental Kharma notified me that I was among the first to have my rental transactions reported to TranUnion. I was surprised with this information because I was led to believe that Rental Kharma had provided this service for other customers. In November, 2014, Rental Kharma did not update TransUnion with any transactions. Because Rental Kharma failed to update TransUnion with my 24 months of rental history, my FICO score took a hit. In December, 2014, I canceled my service with Rental Kharma and requested that they remove the one single transaction that hey had reported to TransUnion. As of May, 2015, despite my repeated requests and the involvement of the BBB, Rental Kharma has not had TransUnion remove the transaction from my credit file. Bottom line, Rental Kharma is just an idea and a lot of hype. They do not have the business processes to deliver what they promote. read more

Like it says on the site "it really works". Went back 2 years on my rental history and I'm paying the $6-7 monthly charge which is worth it when you save hundreds to thousands annually on a loan. That is a great gesture that I think shows they're at least committed to trying to make this product work. I am so happy with Rental Kharma! I have been dutifully paying exorbitant rent prices living in California and it is so great to be able to get credit for it! My rent went up from 611 to 633 immediately and I expect that it will continue to go up! My score went up just in time also as I was in the process of applying to rent a home. Having my score raised as well as demonstrating to my future landlord that I pay my rent each month on time was a huge asset. The other aspect of RK that I really appreciated is how dedicated they were to helping me. I currently live in an apartment complex and the manager was very uncooperative in answering the phone. However, since I pay everything online, Rental Kharma was able to use those records to update my credit report. I originally signed up for Rental Kharma after trying to get approved for a personal loan to build a tiny house. When I was denied for the loan they told me it was because I didn't have enough large, recurring payments on my credit report. I signed up for Rental Kharma because I wanted to be recognized for my excellent rental history with zero late payments. After signing up for the service, I also took a couple of extra steps to lower my debt. Altogether, my credit score went up by 77 points in ONE month, taking my score well over 700. The best part is that it keeps going up every month, and I know that's because my rent continues to get reported by Rental Kharma monthly. I would highly recommend working with them! Better first put this service in perspective for all those who are "desperate" to get their Credit Score bumped. I was looking to better my score before approaching mortgage providers and get better interest rates. If short in time go straight to the SUMMARY down below. 1. Rental Karma is able to report to JUST ONE credit agency - TransUnion. Updating my Rental History of year and a half (after departing from 120$) resulted in an increase of 3points, which could have come from many other factors as, reduced utilization or increase in history period. Keep in mind that the FICO score for mortgages looks into all three reporting agencies takes the middle one and most likely in this calculation doesn't look into the rental history at ALL. 2. The good part is yet to come. They kept charging me month by month 6.95$ for "Reporting" rental payments, while I was hoping this was adding some "thickness" to my history. In April (three months later) I was checking Trans-Union for rental reporting NOTHING was reported. So, three months while charging me month after month, they didn't even bother to let me know they had some issue reporting my rental history. What a great feeling. 3. Taking this up with their representative, he was telling me that they were having problems getting hold of the leasing office and their efforts amounted to sending TWO mails each month. Were they working "hard" for me or what?! I asked and got a refund for the three month charge (after wasting 30min on the phone with them). In SUMMARY, If you are for an improvement in Credit Score due to a "thin" history (my history was a year and a half long) and I'm quite sure that this is true for many other cases. Your credit score will most likely improve by something very negligible - several points. Keeping your utilization on the order of a FEW percent and making payments on time, month after month will have a much LARGER IMPACT. If you do decide to take them for a month-by-month reporting you will need to follow closely that the reporting gets done as they may have "problems" getting responses from the renter office. Bottom line- my advice - DON'T WATE TIME AND MONEY on this. I could have added to the loan file (that which is sent to the underwriter) proof of payments from the leasing office, and that would do just as well. Sorry I wasn't able to show you a way to improve your score, but at lease I am able to advise you from throwing your hard earned money to the wind. read more
