Rental Kharma, I wanted to take a moment to at least inform you at minimum my public consumers perception of poor practice and communication. Despite the fact you feel refusing a refund is substantiated by a less the acceptable level of quality effort... i would like to take a moment to show you the concern. The response email clearly shows The renter is attempting to report an unauthorized sublease This is an accusation and based off pure ignorance without due diligence. I'm sure public records showed the home owner to be Carla and i reported William. Carla and my farther are domestic partners and have been in a relationship for over 10 years. Who do i pay rent to? My father and in the aspect of who is managing the property the answer is correct. The term unauthorized was never verified or validated and if asked i would have given Carla's number. Insulted and left with a bad taste over the the accusation that is then further fulled by telling me the "good news is We have not reported your attempt to add false rental payments to your credit file to any state or local authorities or the credit bureaus" No let me revert the good news, Nothing was false and you saved yourself a lawsuit by not reporting any potentially damaging information that would have been a direct FCRA violation. The unprofessional communication did however irritate a busy consumer to write a review. PS to add to it, the address i'm reporting is already reporting on my credit report just making this so much more ridiculous. I even sent in a letter from the IRS as proof of address.... Yup i'm so deep into this that i have developed a huge elaborate story involving taxes too... read more

So I first loved this service, then had some issues and I changed to a 3 star review. However, they ultimately resolved the issues as well created a solid plan to independently verify my rent payments even though my landlord now refuses to offer this service. So again I an back to a 5 star review. In total I have been with RK for 30+ months and this positive trade line on my credit report definitely helps, plus is assisting in qualifying for a home purchase/mortgage. I am not sure what the negative reviews are about because this is not a scam and it absolutely helps your credit. I have been a client of theirs for 30+ months now and not only did I see an immediate positive increase in my credit score by over 20 points within 60 days it has maintained too. I recently added my wife who is new to the country and just received residency status and her SS# etc. She is on my lease agreement but she had no credit prior due to not having a SS# in the past. Rental Kharma confirmed everything and now with this service she has a credit score, a trade line, and just got approved for her first credit card. Jessica has always helped me by phone and email and has done a great job and is always very helpful and professional. My only wish is that they reported to all three major credit bureaus, which I hear may be coming and hopefully very soon read more

So who doesn't want to have a better Credit Score right? Can your rent affect your credit score positively? Well it might just be too good to be true. I went on there website and purchased a 24 month back rent register and a month to month service. I was exited! A couple of days after I received a call from them requesting more information. ID? Sure! Proof of residency ? Why? But sure. Picture of my Social Security Card? I don't think so!! Something here smells fishy! So I asked Brian to please just refund my money and I'll be ok. As soon as I mentioned refund they went ballistic! So they ended up charging me $20 for not providing my SS card. That just feels bad. So this service might work. I don't know. Just know that you might be requested any type of information. Maybe your mothers ID or your online banking passwords! You refuse? Get a fee! read more

I was just a little concerned doing all of this on line. I thought I should talk to someone before setting up an account. I WAS WRONG! The next day I received numerous emails stating my rent had been verified and will report within 7-10 days. The emails were great and I got every answer I needed as they respond quickly to emails. 5 STARS. Can't wait to see them update monthly. Joseph is AWESOME!!! read more

Monica was a pleasure to deal with at Rental Kharma. I highly recommend Rental Kharma to assist you in reporting your timely payments. Give your credit score a boost. It works! read more

This company is a complete sham, they share your information with other people/banks without permission. This is just another company trying to get money out of you for a false service. Experian, and Equifax don't even consider them a real creditor. This company targets poor people in hopes to get there money and provides them with false hope. After I left a poor review on Google and emailed for a refund they had someone call me and start arguing with me about my review and how my experience went. I am still waiting for an email back with a refund confirmation ****STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS IT IS A SCAM**** read more

AWSOME AWSOME AWSOME Never have i looked so forward to paying my rent.till now i mean pay rent and get rewarded for it too? are you kidding me ok whats the catch?let me guess ridiculous fees and hard to sign up for. no way i spoke to JESSICA she was so helpful and so concerned about helping me i thought she was the owner because not used to seeing an employee go out of her way, and care so much. Its usually the business owner.i was under the impression at first that it was just another credit repair company NO They are not this is truly a great great idea and should have been thought of years ago. I would have a lot better credit score by now lol.I cant wait till it starts reporting will keep you updated on changes of score read more

I used Rental Kharma and it reported 2 yrs of on time Rental payments and my score did not change.

When you want to "cancel" it is a "process" and they "close" the account on the credit bureau so your credit report takes a DING, your credit score WILL DROP....after you've paid them faithfully monthly and now since I no longer can afford your my credit score takes a ding...NOT FAIR at all... read more

Rental Kharma is fantastic! At first I was a little apprehensive, but I thought I'd try for $3.95. The way they do it is they verify your rent amount with the person or company that you pay. They put it on your credit report like a loan. When you pay your rent, it gets "applied" to the loan, making it seem like you're paying off your loan every month. My goal of 2015 was to improve my credit ranking. I did rental kharma, gotta secured credit card through my credit union, took out a $250 loan and with those 3 things...I saw my Credit Score go up almost 100 points. Credit Kharma works. It seems sketchy because it's a fairly new company. I did my research. I hadn't seen any negative remarks against the company. You don't get rich without taking chances in life. It works. Trust me :) read more

Jordan the 2021 A+++ CSR Jordan at TeamRentalKharma I am retired and my part time job decided to cancel all of our already scheduled work schedules for 4 days. That may not be a bad thing for some but for me it was awful situation. I was not able to have any money for Christmas gifts or pay off my end of the month bills. I was still grateful my grandkids are all healthy. This caused me to rethink how I could pay my bills. So I called to cancel the bill and ended up speaking with two separate CSR. The first was a gentleman who I cancelled with first. I got my receipt by email and decided to call right back with a question. I ended up speaking with the second CSR and I explained my circumstances. She stayed on the line while I looked for some information. I told her since I could not find the document at that moment, she said don't worry I can call you back in a few minutes. I told her give me 10 minutes. She called me back in 10 minutes and helped me out because she had done some researching. Jordan the CSR, was able to cut my payment in half since I was a senior and she would be able to move my payment date out. I told her that I would be able to now keep this monthly payment and great service. I have not seen such a beautiful spirit in a person in the CSR field for awhile. Jordan is a breath of fresh air and brought me to tears because I was having a challenging time that day. I just want everyone to know. read more

People are friendly, but please read the fine print if things don't work out for you (it will be your responsibility to cancel) and the staff will forward a request for a refund - because, as the site state, they will backlog rental payments for 2 years as long as you are actively renting. Worst company ever. A complete fraud. They will do whatever they can to not issue you a refund. They will threaten you with charges claiming they didn't receive the documents you sent. Most of their 5 star reviews are bought. BEWARE! Very bad experience. read more

I paid for this to back date my rent payments. The process was super quick and harmless. However my reason for the 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 is because this has absolutely no effect on my fico score... it's advertised everywhere that this will help raid your credit 30 or so points but 0 is unacceptable for the money you have to pay to start the process read more

Jessica was very sharp and gave the best customer experience. She was able to quickly cut the turn around time to verification via listening to my concerns and assuring me of security through this process. Fantastic service she is a Super Ninja read more

I can not say enough good things about this company. Today I went to cancel my services not because Rental Kharma did anything wrong but because my property management company pretty much refused to cooperate and verify my rental history and let me know that personally. I then Courtney and Erik with Rental Kharma to let them know and they then went to work for us. They didn't just give up when I pretty much told them that they wouldn't be able to help me, they worked their magic, did some epic digging and were able to find my payments and verify them in literally like 20min! They could of easily just processed my refund and instead they attempted to help me but doing extra work to help me. That is customer service! Thank you Courtney and Erik for going above and beyond for us! I will always refer you to any and everyone! read more

Save your time and your money. This does nothing for your credit. All this company does is take your money if you don't cancel before 90 days you are out of luck they keep your money. I once wrote a bad review and the owner Colin called me yelling at me why did I write a negative review. I took it down because he told me to give them a chance it literally increased my credit by 1 point I mean seriously 1 point I didn't pay 100.00 for 1 lousy point. They only report to TransUnion and they are not even considered a real credit line. So like I said save your time and your money. read more

I tried Rental Kharma in August, 2014. My landlord sent in 24 months of my rental history and began providing monthly updates in September, 2014. In October, 2014, Rental Kharma notified me that I was among the first to have my rental transactions reported to TranUnion. I was surprised with this information because I was led to believe that Rental Kharma had provided this service for other customers. In November, 2014, Rental Kharma did not update TransUnion with any transactions. Because Rental Kharma failed to update TransUnion with my 24 months of rental history, my FICO score took a hit. In December, 2014, I canceled my service with Rental Kharma and requested that they remove the one single transaction that hey had reported to TransUnion. As of May, 2015, despite my repeated requests and the involvement of the BBB, Rental Kharma has not had TransUnion remove the transaction from my credit file. Bottom line, Rental Kharma is just an idea and a lot of hype. They do not have the business processes to deliver what they promote. read more

Christian was amazing through this process.. I recently purchased a home with the help of rental karma.. I def recommend them

No one answers the phone. Trying to cancel my account but can not get answers. Very frustrating.

Terrible service! My rent is due on the 5th and even after telling them this they called my landlord over and over again on the 1st of the month, two months in a row! This month they called my landlord to "confirm my move out date" which mad my poor landlord call me sounding worried because he thought I was sneaky and trying to move away without telling him! And they still ONLY report to Transunion and I literally signed up because they assured me it would only be a month or so until they report to Equifax also and that was in November 2020! These people just lied to me saying they never called my landlord to check on a move out date that they left a message to verify my March payment which my landlord has the voice mail! read more

I was 2 minutes from buying this service but for some reason i was like let me read some reviews, regardless of the big amount of bad reviews they have the way the owner comment on these people who left negative review is really shameful, glad didn't buy it and thanks for all these people who reported the real story behind this company saved me from losses in money and time. And yep it seems like karma. read more

do not every us this company they are a fraud i repeat do not every us this company they are a fraud i spoke with a rep to see why no increase on my score has take place. they young lady said to give it 30days. after waiting the time they request no increase yet. so after speaking with the manager brain for a refund this bastered was so rude and disrespectful that i had to disconnect the call because he refused to allow me to speak to his supervisor. so unprofessional. they only refunded me 21.50 after paying 120.00 to this company for nothing. mrs. jones read more

Ok. I'm going to update this with a better score. One of the owners/founders contacted me directly and is working with me to handle the situation and figure out the best way to work this all out. That is a great gesture that I think shows they're at least committed to trying to make this product work. They're a new(ish) start up so there are going to be some hiccups along the way, but I do appreciate their willingness to try and tackle the issues. I'd recommend the service but like I said in my previous review - it'll really help your case out if you've got a landlord that is willing to participate fully with it. read more

My credit scores where too low to put my name and income on a home loan with my husband. In this competitive buying market I was desperate for a quick fix! My realtor recomended Rental Kharma and I signed up! They took the past 2 years that I have been making on time rental payments and applied it toward my overall credit score, which raised it within about a month! We were finally qualified on a larger home loan! Once I closed on my home I contacted Yesenia is stop my subscription, and she easily did! Like it says on the site "it really works". Went back 2 years on my rental history and I'm paying the $6-7 monthly charge which is worth it when you save hundreds to thousands annually on a loan. It's hard to say exactly how much it jumped my score up but I would say about 30-35 points. I'll continue using it as long as I am renting. read more

This company is great I have purchased twice and they do what they say and this really does help your credit I'm not sure what the fake reviews are about the only thing is I wish they reported to all 3 bureaus but other than that they are awesome $25 to report rent history that is fair to me unlike rent reporters who charge $94 but report to two bureaus Equifax and TransUnion thanks for the service RK keep posting for me. read more

Buyers beware! I paid for services back on 3/1/2019. Today is the 18th of the month. I've never seen a company behave in such nonchalant manner towards its paying customers. I recently purchase a home. I had been working on buying this home since November of 2015. No matter how hard I tried, it seemed as if I could never get my credit score up to where I needed it to be. That was until I came across William and Rental Kharma. At first, I was on the fence about using them. My loan officer said it wouldn't help. I had gotten so frustrated, I figured it couldn't hurt. I started with Rental Kharma in February or March, I believe. By May, I was house hunting. By July , I was in my new home. Thank you William and Rental Kharma for a dream come true read more

This is a pretty awesome service! After exploring options for bolstering my credit score I decided to give this a try. So glad I did... I am so happy with Rental Kharma! I have been dutifully paying exorbitant rent prices living in California and it is so great to be able to get credit for it! My rent went up from 611 to 633 immediately and I expect that it will continue to go up! My score went up just in time also as I was in the process of applying to rent a home. Having my score raised as well as demonstrating to my future landlord that I pay my rent each month on time was a huge asset. The other aspect of RK that I really appreciated is how dedicated they were to helping me. I currently live in an apartment complex and the manager was very uncooperative in answering the phone. However, since I pay everything online, Rental Kharma was able to use those records to update my credit report. This is a great option for anyone who wants to raise their credit score and pays their rent on time! Thanks Rental Kharma!!!! read more

Rental Kharma helped raise my Transunion score to get a home loan. The only negative thing I can say is that they don't show up on all 3 bureaus. The team is great, they get you up and running quickly. Shaniece was especially helpful with managing my account. read more

Better first put this service in perspective for all those who are "desperate" to get their Credit Score bumped. I was looking to better my score before approaching mortgage providers and get better interest rates. If short in time go straight to the SUMMARY down below. 1. Rental Karma is able to report to JUST ONE credit agency - TransUnion. Updating my Rental History of year and a half (after departing from 120$) resulted in an increase of 3points, which could have come from many other factors as, reduced utilization or increase in history period. Keep in mind that the FICO score for mortgages looks into all three reporting agencies takes the middle one and most likely in this calculation doesn't look into the rental history at ALL. 2. The good part is yet to come. They kept charging me month by month 6.95$ for "Reporting" rental payments, while I was hoping this was adding some "thickness" to my history. In April (three months later) I was checking Trans-Union for rental reporting NOTHING was reported. So, three months while charging me month after month, they didn't even bother to let me know they had some issue reporting my rental history. What a great feeling. 3. Taking this up with their representative, he was telling me that they were having problems getting hold of the leasing office and their efforts amounted to sending TWO mails each month. Were they working "hard" for me or what?! I asked and got a refund for the three month charge (after wasting 30min on the phone with them). In SUMMARY, If you are for an improvement in Credit Score due to a "thin" history (my history was a year and a half long) and I'm quite sure that this is true for many other cases. Your credit score will most likely improve by something very negligible - several points. Keeping your utilization on the order of a FEW percent and making payments on time, month after month will have a much LARGER IMPACT. If you do decide to take them for a month-by-month reporting you will need to follow closely that the reporting gets done as they may have "problems" getting responses from the renter office. Bottom line- my advice - DON'T WATE TIME AND MONEY on this. I could have added to the loan file (that which is sent to the underwriter) proof of payments from the leasing office, and that would do just as well. Sorry I wasn't able to show you a way to improve your score, but at lease I am able to advise you from throwing your hard earned money to the wind. read more
