I am trying to decide if I should use these folks to help me with next step of investing. Went to a seminar. It's mostly a sales pitch with a few nuggets of high-level information thrown in -- but that's what I expected so am OK with that. I really was there to find out about Lord & Richards more than specific investing strategies. Based on the seminar, they seem like a solid company. But... ...Reading thorough reviews here gives me pause if I should pursue working with them. They seem to respond with "thank you" for some of the great reviews. However, they entirely ignore the multiple reviews stating how rude and condescending they can be. That and turning away somebody, without having contacted that person, because he brought his adult son who will be managing the estate?! Yup, that is quite rude. Entirely ignoring these reviews rather than providing a thoughtful reply (or even an apology) seems to give credibility to the reviewer's complaints regarding rude and arrogant. read more

I met this company via an ad on Facebook. They were offering a free dinner at the Fort restaurant. The trade off, listening to a surprisingly well thought out and presented orientation on funding retirement. The dinner was fabulous and I learned a great deal from the presentation. I made an appointment for a week later to have a financial assessment done. The information I came away from that meeting with was pure gold. I'm debating becoming an actual client and letting this firm become my money manager. The people really impressed me and their financial knowledge is off the hook. read more

Rude and disrespectful! My wife and and I just went to their event at Law's. While Andy's pitch was that he wasn't there to sell us anything, he became very agitated and even rude.And disrespectful, when he found out, I didn't want to schedule an appointment with him. Run, do not walk away from these advisors. They are condescending, rude and not qualified. We were looking for a second opinion on our retirement portfolios and they delivered the worst presentation I have ever seen. Suggested we put over 80% of our money in one investment (an annuity) and then wanted an immediate answer to proceed. We looked it over more thoroughly that night and discovered many issues and canceled the next meeting. The advisor was very rude when we cancelled the next meeting and basically told us we had no brains. read more

May be a decent place for you if you want to be treated as if you have no brain, you ask no questions about your portfolio plan, and enjoy being talked down to. The owner Colin unfortunately has a big ego and not a pleasant person to work with in any means. Other office personal and advisors that I had contact with were very nice though! I started working with Charles-a very nice, personable, and warm professional personality. But he left and I got stuck with the owner, Colin Richards. Glad my money won't be managed here. TERRIBLE. This review is for the Lord and Richards Financial, in north Plano, Texas. These people are rude and inconsiderate, as they made a mistake at my families expense. I got an invitation to attend a financial seminar with a guest. When I called I ask if I could bring my son as a guest as he will be managing my estate and trust. I told them he was 28, and they said fine. you have to be 21 years of age. We arrived for donner and the seminar and were embarrassingly turned away. They said you have to 50years old to attend. It does say that anywhere on the documents and it was not verbally communicated. Rachel, the greeter said she tried to call me twice and email me, but that is a lie, as there is no email or call history to support her claims. It is very rude of them to treat people like this. We gave up an evening, dressed up and drove 30 minutes one way for humiliation. I am 68, have several college degrees, a university teaching career and money to invest. How could you trust these rude people with your money when they can not be responsible enough to communicate and show some consideration and manners. Don't use them. read more
