From beginning to end it was a horrible renting experience, the worst I'd ever had. Do your research, trust your gut, it didn't turn out well for me but it's because I ignored the red flags that were all there before renting. They'll rent you a place in whatever condition, half do jobs, send very questionable/unprofessional contractors, and then turn around and want the rental returned in better condition or charge you. On top of that, they're not very honest or professional from the top down. If you're wanting to live in peace, seek another property management company or even better find a private owner. Oh and watch out for the reviews that are too good to be true. They've offered incentives for votes in the past like no late fee, etc. read more

We used rentmehomes for the last 7 years (ish), can't say enough about these folks. Renting a home while not living in the area is a big hastle, but Brittany and Becky made things much more manageable. They were extremely proficient and professional. They are quick with the year-end tax information, and seem like they are always available. I see the somewhat negative reviews for the showing/renter side, I can't speak to that. I went a did a showing with this company and they were very nice, told me I would be contacted the next day. When that didn't happen I called 2 days later. They said their people were out of the office and I would likely get a call Monday. (It was Friday at the time). Monday I never got a call and noticed the house we went to see, which was one we really wanted to rent, was now off the market. We rented from them for 6 years and we would refer others to use this company. We found a great, clean, solid house in a fantastic neighborhood and the rent was cheap, it allowed us to save enough money and buy a house in the same area. We were also lucky in that the owners of the house were nice, reasonable, responsive people and now our new neighbors. Rent Me Homes returned our full deposit early because we all got hit with a Cat 3 hurricane and they know we needed the money. Their staff was working from their homes at this point and still expedited our deposit. I'm impressed and thankful. We dealt mostly with Brittney, she was always friendly, helpful and always knew who we were. Having lived in a big city, that's refreshing. read more

I would not recommend renting from this property management company. Over the course of our one-year lease, they showed a reluctance to deal fairly with their residents and did not communicate in a straightforward manner. As responsible tenants I feel we were badly treated. I experienced the following issues: - We were not treated fairly when applying to rent a home with this company. They took our application fee without telling us pertinent information that would disqualify us from renting. In our case, we were looking for a home to rent for a period of one year. The owner was looking for a tenant who would stay for longer than one year. We applied and paid our application fee in good faith, believing we were qualified applicants. (If we had known that a two-year release was required, we would not have applied.) When we were turned down because of the two-year stipulation, we asked for our application fee to be returned on the grounds that pertinent information had been withheld. We were refused. Only after we raised a fuss did they tell us that the owner had changed her mind and approved our application. - Management's response to some maintenance issues was less than helpful. At one point the kitchen plumbing broke on a Friday evening and the sink could not be used without flooding the cabinet below. We immediately submitted a service request, but were told that the issue would not be attended to until the next week as it was now the weekend and the company would have to pay overtime to have someone come out and fix it over the weekend. We were without running water in the kitchen for several days because the company refused to pay for the repair to occur in a timely manner. - We were forced to attend to a neglected safety issue on the property at our own expense. There were several large trees on the property that had not been properly trimmed in some time. During storms these trees would drop branches onto the driveway and lawn. With hurricane season coming, I contacted the rental property and asked them to take care of it as a safety issue. They responded by asking how falling branches constituted a safety issue, and directed us to deal with the problem ourselves. As a result we were forced to have costly tree trimming done at our own expense. This was clearly an issue that existed with the property before move-in and should have been handled by the property management company. In addition to this we were directed to clean out the gutters, in which years of debris (including live plants) had accumulated, to comply with the housing code. By all reasonable measures the tenant should not be responsible for dirt that has been accumulating for years before move-in, but this did not bear any weight with Rent Me Homes. - We were charged unwarranted move-out costs. When we vacated the property, the home had been scrubbed, dusted, and shined. It was in better condition than when we moved in. However we were still charged a $60 cleaning fee due to some hairs that were left behind in a bathroom drawer. An unreasonable way to treat good tenants who have never made a late rent payment or caused any problems! Throughout this time we were treated as though the company did not value the business of quiet, responsible, reliable tenants. If you must deal with this company, use caution. They will not make an effort to be reasonable or helpful. Expect them not to deal fairly with you, and ensure you get everything in writing. If you can help it, avoid working with this company altogether. read more

I found a listing from Rent Me Homes and inquired. They responded in a few hours; I made an appointment easily with Brittany and she showed up on time to show me the house. She was upfront and honest about the fact that I was not the only one applying for the home. I liked the fact that Rent Me Homes approved the tenant best qualified instead first come; since I lost out on several houses due to that fact. I've been working very hard to re-build my credit and it paid off. I was offered the house to rent over 4 other applications. The paperwork went through easily and the "move-in date" was as promised. The reasons I didn't give 5 stars is for the fact that I was charged a fee of $150 in addition to the $50 application fee for some other "admin fee" that I thought was excessive since my landlord only used their service to screen applicants; I am not renting directly from Rent Me Homes. read more

They list homes for rent and take applications for weeks, making $50 for each person applying. They show homes to several people at the same time and then deny everyone, keeping the money. After about 6 to 8 weeks they will finally approve someone - probably because the owners of the properties have threatened to find another property management company. During that time they've probably made $2000 in application fees. They are taking advantage of people. This is a horrible business practice and I hope it catches up with them! read more

I rented from rent me homes for 1 year, they informed me my rent was increasing by $75.00 monthly, I decided not to stay at the house I was renting and bought a house. We made sure everything was cleaned and I have a business iwhich is licensed with the state of Florida on sunbiz, I cleaned my carpets and submitted the bill. I was informed by the agent that my bill was not acceptable and that they charged me to do the carpets again, there were a couple hairs that were missed when cleaning and there were a couple items left in the drawers in the kitchen, they charged me to have people come in and clean the house, but they couldn"t tell me how the carpets were cleaned or the house was cleaned when there was no water or electricity on. This company is out to take what they can from you when you decide not to play by their rules, just beware if you do business with them that you need to take pictures of everything and make sure you take close ups, they are very crafty as how they will take your deposit money. I will say they did a good job when it came to complaints with the home, but not always would they fix the problems you had, I moved in and complained about the ceiling fans being loud, they had a maintnance man come out said the fans were shot and needed replaced, when he came back he fixed 1 fan and said they aren't going to fix the other 2. needless to say they are still there in the house and not fixed and someone else will get charged for them if they dont mention that on their checklist, just be causiious if doing business with this company be very crucial when filling out your paperwork in the beginning and take alot of pictures, and when you are done cleaning the house to give it back make sure you have your pictures and complaints, other wise they will take your deposit to pad their own pockets, they told me I me they didn"t need to show me the reciepts that they had for spending my deposit money and that they would not take me back through the house to see what work was done. read more
