Very poor workmanship, dishonest, and their promise of "satisfaction guaranteed" means nothing…read more I had a doorway transition where the LVT and transition was not cut parallel to the planks nor the doorway. The carpet installer left us a 2 in overlap, because as he said "it would look stupid if I just fastened it in the current transition". Prior to hiring Floor Coverings International (FCI) to fix this, I was very specific is explaining that the project needed both LVT and carpet expertise to fix the problem. FCI assured me that the technician would be skilled in both LVT and carpet. Further, I asked if my satisfaction with the work would be guaranteed, and FCI promised that it would be. FCI required $250 minimum for any work done. Since the repair involved both LVT and carpet, I figured the cost would be between $300 and $500, so $250 minimum was acceptable. Their installer showed up on time, told us that it couldn't be straightened without LVT work, and he couldn't do that. So he cut the carpet, and placed it under the transition...took less than 10 minutes. Now we were left in a more difficult position than before, as we no longer had the extra 2 in of carpet to work with that the carpet installer had left us. I told FCI that I was not happy with the work. FCI phone call included the installer, and he told me that the problem was the door framing, and that if we were to straighten out the transition, it would look funny since it didn't line up with the door. He said the current transition was parallel to the door. I went to the house, and the installer if full of nonsense. The transition is 1/4 in off of parallel with the doorway, and exaggerates the funny angle. It could have been easily hidden under the door, contrary to the claim of the installer. I sent a picture to FCI, and their comment was "we will fix that for an additional $425, in addition to the $250 we already agreed to". While he did agree to reducing that by $125, he would not be able to do the repair within the week. I pointed out that the work was not done correctly, and that $250 for less than 10 minutes of work seems extravagant. FCI's comment: "$250 is simply our minimum". Bottom line: work was not done properly, installed lied about the problem so that he didn't have to do the work, and the satisfaction guarantee meant nothing. I will never hire this company again.

They were wonderful and worked so quickly. They did an amazing job and I would highly recommend them and use them again in the future!

If you don't think that Steve can pull a Rabbit out of Hat, think again.... He just did it for me!…read moreI sold my condo and was about to close, when the movers damaged my wood floors. The walk through was just days away. Normally this would mean that the deal would fall through, and that the scheduled closing would be at risk. I had used Workman Flooring for a home that I had moved into a few months ago, and I was more than satisfied with the results. The wood floor technicians, Israel and Jesus did a wonderful job on the restoration of the 95-year-old floors in my house. They turned out beautifully! Steve came to the condo immediately and was sympathetic to my plight. He evaluated what needed to be done and summoned his team Israel and Jesus, to take care of the disaster that the movers had caused. Israel and Jesus refinished all of the floors in my condo in one day! When they finished, you couldn't tell that before they had been there, it had looked like a "Choo Choo Train" had used my floors as its track! The walkthrough went off without a hitch! I must say that Steve has a great team: Betsy is a sweetheart. She listens attentively and sets the wheels into motion. Under the direction of Steve, the floor team, Jesus and Israel do an excellent job! I strongly recommend this remarkable group!

This is definitely a company to avoid. Everything seemed normal until they arrived to do the work…read moreand needed to power their 220v equipment. Rather than using a 220v plug and inserting it into either our dryer plug or stove plug (which would have easily worked), they instead preferred to re-wire the electrical in the home breaker box themselves and temporarily add either the raw copper-wire cord (picture included) to power their equipment or a circuit breaker that they apparently reuse from house to house. If you know about electrical work and its risks, you know that you don't want a hardwood floor sanding operator to touch the electrical wiring in your home, particularly with the elevated risk of 220v electricity. They didn't even check the dryer outlet or stove outlet to use those. Instead, they had another converter that they had custom built that would plug two extension cords from different 110v outlets into the converter, supposedly powering a 220v appliance (picture included). We gave that a shot, but as you might expect it didn't draw enough power to work properly and consistently. During this electrical conversation I called to talk to the owner, Justin. He said they rewire electrical work in homes every day, and that is their preferred method of getting power. They never use externally-supplied power. When I expressed concern for risks to his crew, equipment, and home electrical system he was flippantly dismissive and even became belligerent. I was pretty shocked as it was simply a courtesy call to inform him about the risks to his crew and company and see if we could find a simple way to get power (which no contractor at my home has ever had issues with before!). I discovered that the crew didn't even check my dryer and stove 220v outlets to see if they had an adapter that could easily work with them. If you use 220v appliances in your work at homesites, you either need to bring standard adapters to tap into existing 220v outlets or supply your own external power. The other option is to bring along an electrician to re-wire 220v electrical work in your home, but that is inefficient. Just do the simpler, faster, and safer route. I have no idea why they didn't. It's disappointing that they don't place more importance on the safety of their crew, equipment, and the home's electrical system. Their rewiring method is also a complete waste of time. Use another flooring company that has better standards, is more efficient, and has a more collaborative approach at problem solving.
