In my…read moreexperience this therapist: Interrupted me frequently and acted impatient when I took too much time talking about things. As such she never seemed to "get" what I was talking about. Instead she'd make up something to fit her own limited knowledge and change the direction of the conversation. Tried to make me hate my own family, referred to them as "crazy people" (a huge no-no when it comes to mental health) and acted as if everything wrong with me was because of them (and only because of them.) Invalidated my feelings by making it sound as if I was just "too sensitive" to certain situations or that I was the one being "unfair" to others (by reacting to their bullying and judgement.) Refused to discuss topics like racism because it made her uncomfortable. She shut me down immediately at the very mention of the subject and told me it's "something we can discuss after we fix your 'other issues' ". (She was similarly dismissive when I tried to talk about growing up poor.) Flat out asked me if I had been "molested" despite having said absolutely nothing to imply having been. That was what ultimately led me to stop seeing this woman. And worst of all, she covers up bad reviews online by hiding them or getting her friends to post glowing reviews about her practice. (She probably believes she's being "victimized' by bad reviews.) Don't waste your time or money on this person.
