Dr. Chase is magical, I've been blown away by the results I have experienced so far. During my first session, Dr. Chase made me feel super comfortable to open up to her. She asked me a lot of questions, some of which left me thinking for days afterwards. The hypnosis portion of the session has had an incredible impact on my sleep. I listen to the audio recording before bed and according to my Fitbit I've been getting about 50% more deep sleep than before. I also wake up feeling extremely well rested and ready for the day ahead. On the mental health side, I've noticed I've been able to make a lot of progress as well. I recently was in a very low and down point in my life trying to determine why I get myself in the same unhealthy and damaging situations over and over again and feeling, to be honest, not at all ok or good about myself. I have tried talk therapy in the past many times but I am not a talking out my problems kind of girl. I keep my life and feeling very very private and have always been extremely uncomfortable sharing with people. I will hide from the world and keep to myself because it has always felt safer then talking out my emotions to friends, family or therapists. Apparently bottling up your feelings and emotions is also very unhealthy. I knew I needed to do something because I was not able to keep it together at all and every time a friend would ask me if I was ok, or what was going on, or try to get me to talk about it, I would actually end up worse. I did some research online and on here at Yelp to see what others thought about hypnotherapy. I have never been able to relax my mind or even be successful at meditation so I was very concerned I was not going to be able to be hypnotized. So because of this and being afraid to share my feelings I was terrified to call Dr. McKenna. I decided to send her message through her website. She called me back the very next day and left me a message on my voice mail. I wasn't able to call her back that week as it was Thanksgiving week and I had many appointments after work each night. Also, because I was scared and making excuses. Well Thanksgiving weekend was a terrible few days for me and I hit a point where I really didn't know what I would do to heal form it. I called Dr. McKenna back on Sunday and she answered her phone! On a Sunday!! I wasn't expecting that at all, I thought for sure I would just get her voice mail and we would continue this game of phone tag. Nope. She was available right away. She was very kind and explained her entire process to me and asked me several times if there were any other questions I had for her or anything else she could explain to me? She calmed me down by explaining to me that being up set was ok and being scared and unsure was ok. We were able to set up an appoint that week. My first appointment was nerve wrecking for me. Still unsure what to expect but I was also really excited because I was very hopeful that this would work. She sat and talked with me for a while, analyzed my handwriting and analyzed me for a while as well. Then the hypnotism part started. Dr. McKenna explained that even If I am not feeling like I am hypnotized and my mind is thinking of errands I need to do that it's ok because it's my conscience that is thinking of those things and she is more concerned about my subconscious. When done, I wasn't sure what I thought. I felt in a haze but still wasn't sure if I thought this would even work. I did feel immediacy calmer though. I listened tot the audio recording of my session again that night before bed and was AMAZED when I woke up the next morning. I felt a million times more calm about the things going on in my life that were bringing me sadness and anger. I still knew the feelings were there but I was able to control the feelings for the first time in a few weeks. It really works!!!! I am now working at home on my second session with Dr. McKenna and am beyond impressed with her ability to really tap into the areas that were effecting me and help me work through them. I am not completely healed but I will say this. I feel incredibly stronger today and more and more each day than I did just a couple of weeks ago. A couple of weeks ago "strong" wasn't even in my vocabulary. Dr. Chase McKenna is my Hero! She is amazing, she has the calmest most soothing voice and I notice I feel incredibly safe when I am with her. Like nothing can hurt me and my heart and mind are safe. Dr. Mckenna is life changing, she is so intelligent and you can see within minutes of each appointment. I've tried just about every kind of therapy from dozens of different therapists, which never seems to help. I walked into her office and did not wait more than a few minutes while I filled out a few papers.
