Having had bad experiences with trades in the past, I was hesitant to take on such a large project. But our house had been occupied by the same family for almost 50 years and was in desperate need of updating. I wanted to maintain some of the historical details blended with modern updates. Based on some of the other renos of his I've seen, this seems to be his specialty. He tackled every aspect of the reno with design in mind. For the basement, Mike suggested heated concrete floors that we absolutely love. When bathroom fixtures were delivered and didn't match the modern elements in the basement bath, they were returned and reelected. When I was having trouble choosing tile, they helped out. I gave a basic outline of what I wanted in the kitchen and Mike's team fleshed out the design beautifully. There was good collaboration between his team and I. Since we had recently purchased the home, we were on a tight budget. Mike provided thoughtful suggestions on where to save money. They were respectful when items were cut for cost savings and never tried to get us to spend more than we were comfortable with. The budget never increased from the original quote except for when I added on larger scale items like a gas line to my new range and BBQ. When tiles were priced out a couple cents higher than my budget, they confirmed before purchasing them. We were informed of all the details along the way. My timeline was also tight since we only had a few weeks where renos could be done before we had to move in. The team was there late each night and on weekends in some cases to prepare for our move-in. Work continued after we had moved and workers were there every weekday. Shout-out to Harold who was at our house almost everyday. Trades always showed up as scheduled. Periodically, we would meet up for a walk through. I would usually have a list of questions or items that I would like him to work on. He was always patient and thorough when explaining his answers. When I asked for items to be worked on, it was never a problem. He often already had the same list of items to be worked on. Working with Mike was truly a wonderful experience and I highly recommend him. I can't wait to have them back to tackle all of the new projects I have dreamt up!

I interviewed several different contractors/companies, none of which understood the scope of the project we were looking to do, none factored in the handicap needs, all evident by the quotes and proposals received. What surprised us initially, was Simon's philosophy and approach being a resource and industry expert in what they do...more so than the sale itself. Simon made several follow-up visits to our home to see how the home was being used, how we functioned in the house and get a better idea as to our needs to best transform the areas to make it beautiful and extremely functional as well. Simon developed several amazing designs which were tweaked from likes/dislikes of each to create the final design plans. Honestly, truly amazing, some stuff we would have never thought of. The master bathroom was the hardest of the projects, as it had to be handicapped assessable from all aspects...particularly the shower area. The master bath project was a total gut, required major plumbing work/relocation, reworking the area to include a very large handicapped assessable shower area with seamless roll in capability, wet/dry area, built in shelves, bench seating both in the wet and dry area, grab bars, etc. A raised toilet was incorporated, design of which you can't tell it was raised...matching the exact shape of the toilet. New tile laid, increased storage and functionality of the vanity area and a to die for master closet for such a limited space. It was truly a work of art. The kitchen was transformed to include a true island, all new cabinetry, counter tops and transformation of the pantry from the normal drab bi-fold's with wire shelves, to cabinetry, counter top, etc...that makes it look and function like and extension of the kitchen. Several neighbors saw and said WOW...something no one thought of doing. The guest bathroom a definite upgrade from what the builder did initially. We also ended up redoing all the flooring in the living areas of the house, replaced all of the interior doors to solid core doors, replaced several main light fixtures and all of the plumbing fixtures/hardware. We found BBE to be a truly one stop shop for all your remodeling needs from cabinetry, countertops, flooring, plumbing fixtures, lighting, hardware, etc...all of which we purchased through BBE which made the process much less of a hassle and actually quick enjoyable...as they showed us a large selection of everything...and if they don't have it...they ordered it..We have since completed a second project with Simon and his team that included replacing all windows to impact glass and redoing another closet in the second bedroom, transforming it from the normal bi-fold's with wire shelves, to a beautiful built in...another great idea and design. Bottom, line, if you're looking to do any remodeling work...any scope in size...we would highly recommend Simon and his team. Simon and his team were great to work with, extremely knowledgeable, did quality work, courteous and clean during all phases of our project. Follow up was great during the entire project and Simon and his team was always reachable. Shortly we will be planning a 3rd project...another closet...and will absolutely be using Simon and his team. Great job!

We initially had a decent experience with Daniel and Elijah. During the consultation and quoting…read moreprocess, both appeared professional, responsive, and promised high-quality results. They were quick to secure the contract and collect the upfront payment. Our contract explicitly stated we would receive epoxy garage flooring. Instead, they used a different, unsealed material that began completely peeling within a week just from coming into contact with water. They stated that they would come months later once the weather warms up to fix the issue. Daniel then demanded an additional $800 to apply the epoxy we had already paid for and another $500 for levelling. After changing the timeline at the last minute--leaving our belongings stranded on our porch--Daniel showed up alone without a team. His rushed attempt to fix the levelling on his own failed completely and so did his promise of having it done in 2 days as he then made further attempts to delay the work. This clearly showed us that we were not a priority for him and that this job will once again be botched. We were beyond frustrated and decided to do the work ourselves. Now that we have requested a partial refund to pay for additional 2k we just spent on materials to fix the botched job, they have gone completely silent and refuse to answer our messages. They take your cash, deliver defective work, and completely abandon the project. Do not trust this company, and never pay them fully upfront. We will be taking them to court over it.
