If I could give 0 stars I would. I went here in 2006-2007. 15 months of pure hell. Yes, I was a…read moretroubled teen and my parents didn't know what to do with me. I started to believe that everything these people were doing were for my "own good" because I knew I was a bad kid... But this place has HAUNTED me. I went in at 16, came home when I was almost 18, and I'm about to be 33 now. I left this place and hugged my parents and family tighter than ever before.. But I only saw my parents twice in 15 months. I was dropped from level 5 to 1 when my parents came out for family weekend and I asked to go to lunch with them because I "manipulated staff" to go. How does that make sense when I was told I could go with them? All my hard work for nothing. I was pulled into one of the bedrooms and yelled at by Julie while 3 other staff members stood there and watched. Most of the staff were just there for a paycheck, only a few actually cared about us there. The girls that were on medication to help you sleep, we would take our meds, then go back to GROUP! We were forced to stay awake on sleeping medication until "Reflections" were over, and if you fell asleep you were given a "Consequence" which happened to me and a few others, many times. You weren't allowed to speak your mind or even slightly disagree with anyone because if you did, you were given a "Consequence" which okay, I can understand that to an extent considering it is a "School for troubled youth"...However, we were suppressed. We were made into people we truly aren't. We weren't allowed to be our authentic selves out of fear that we would never move up and be free from this place. So I can confidently say 99.9% of the teens there, faked their entire program. I know I did. Near the end of my program, my money ran out. We could no longer pay to keep me in the program. Staff and therapist had me brainwashed that my family was not healthy for me and that I'd relapse immediately if I went home, so they convinced me to finish my program at The Academy Of Eastern Arizona per Daniel. They told me that if I wasn't happy and I wanted to go home, they would let me go home. Fast forward, Arizona was worse than Cedar City. One of the staff members, Ruth, was horrible. I was about to move up to level 6, and on that morning, she pulled me into the kitchen and gave me a "Consequence" for a crumb on the stove. I wasn't on kitchen crew that morning. This prevented me from moving up a level. The next week. Another consequence. And so on and so forth. She was power hungry and cruel for no reason. We would work for hours in the hot sun with hot water to drink, no food until we got back to the facility. Girls would get sick from the heat, but still be forced to participate in groups and therapy. I will NEVER send my children to a place like this. I would kill myself before I ever went back. There's no way in hell I'd ever send my own kids. PARENTS: Do your research, EXTENSIVE research, reviews, get to really know the people your child is going to live with before you just blindly throw all your money away, and possibly your childs life. Many of the girls that have left Integrity House have passed away. The trauma from this nightmare is real. It will probably haunt me for the rest of my life. I have more incidents that have happened, but I just wanted to give a tiny taste of what it was like to live there. I hope this opens your eyes to the horror behind closed doors.

Since November of last year, I have made repeated attempts to work collaboratively with RISE to address my concerns, understand my daughters' treatment plans, and obtain appropriate information regarding their progress and well-being. My goal throughout this process was not to interfere with therapy, but to be an involved parent and ensure my children were receiving the support they needed. Unfortunately, my experience was that my questions and concerns were often met with very general responses that provided little meaningful information. I felt that requests for basic updates were routinely limited under the Safe Harbor Agreement, even when I believed I was requesting information that should have been available to a parent. Communication became increasingly frustrating. Despite numerous attempts to resolve these issues directly, I did not feel my concerns were adequately addressed. When my attorney attempted to obtain information regarding my daughters' care, there was no meaningful communication. Rather than working collaboratively to resolve concerns, I felt the practice relied on legal language and policies instead of transparency and cooperation. When I ultimately revoked my consent for treatment, RISE acknowledged receiving my request but informed me they would continue treatment based on their interpretation of the custody order rather than addressing the concerns I had raised throughout the previous year. I would like to add that I am a 50/50 legal parent. I understand that therapy requires confidentiality, and I respect the important role mental health professionals play. However, I also believe parents deserve appropriate communication, especially when serious concerns involving their children's safety and emotional well-being arise. My experience left me feeling excluded from important decisions regarding my own children, unheard despite repeated attempts to communicate, and disappointed by the lack of collaboration. Because of that experience, I cannot recommend RISE Therapy and Coaching.
