I have been going almost weekly ever since. I never have to tell Monica where to focus her energy, she feels where she needs to spend extra time, and without fail, gets deep in the areas that need it most. She has an amazing skill at finding the knots inside of the knots inside of the muscles I never knew I had. When I started going to Soulshine, I was having shoulder problems, and I was looking to augment what I was doing in physical therapy. Monica did more for my shoulder than physical therapy ever did. For deep tissue, Monica can get deeper than any other therapist I have used. Her ability to "listen" to your body to know where to dig a little deeper is uncanny. Her tenacity and reluctance to give up on a problem spot is so appreciated. I would not hesitate to recommend Soulshine Massage Bliss to anyone. If possible, book a 90 minute session. The hour is great, but the additional time really gives her the flexibility to spend time where it is needed the most.

My first session today was about 2 hours long. When I arrived I was warmly greeted and offered tea. I felt right away that I was in good hands. Her work space is downstairs and it's a calming space. Prior to my appointment I filled out an intake form and returned it promptly. In my experience, most professionals don't even look at the forms I hand in or if they do, it's brief. That was not the sense that I got today. She reviewed the forms, asked me follow up questions, and probed deeper for information. I like how she explains as she goes and paused to make sure I was still following. She has a really comfortable table for reiki. After, we went over a few more items, she gave me some homework and an affirmation to take with me. I am a self-help, goal-oriented junkie and on my quest for health & wellness, todays experience is at the top. I LOVED it! I am familiar with the Reiki scene in Des Moines. My advice, go for credentials and experience. You will get what you pay for. Gail is an OG.

I came in for a mini-facial and could not have had a better experience. Melissa was warm and friendly from the very first moment I walked in the door. What I really appreciated though is how thoroughly she walked me through her process, the products she was using, and then WHY she chose those products. There was even some science thrown into her explanation, which I loved. She did a skin assessment, then exfoliation and a mask with steam. It was very relaxing and my skin was baby smooth after. I loved my experience and will be making a point to come back and support this local business!
