Two wks later, we get a call telling us the glass was in but when we went to get it, no one could find it! Still no idea what happened but they said it would be reordered. From that point on, we called and stopped in every few days but were always given one excuse after another. Customer service was nonexistent, they NEVER called to update us....it was always us reaching out to them. We heard that it would be in on the next truck, had to be special ordered and would be in the next week, would "probably" be in by Friday, had to be special ordered by a different supplier and (my all-time favorite), at nearly 2 months out, it was on back order!! Glass finally arrived 8 weeks after order was placed. No apology, no discount, no offer of any kind, just here's your glass. Had planned to install during September or October weather but obviously, with the weather now, we get to go more months without a window. How is this place still in business? Utterly unprofessional in every way possible. If you choose to order here, be prepared for your project to remain unfinished for months.

I'm hearing impaired and prefer text or email communication, so I contacted The Shambles using Facebook Messenger and received this immediate response: "Thanks for messaging us. We try to be as responsive as possible. We'll get back to you soon." I requested a text message reply and promptly received contact from an employee. I sent photos of one set of chairs in need of refurbishment. That employee immediately called me, which might have been welcomed if I were a hearing person, but then again, if any customer preferred telephone contact they would not request text or email. The only positive was that the employee advised they do not refurbish that particular style of chair and offered the information for another local business that could handle the work. I replied a thank you for the referral and photos of 2 more furniture sets in need of restoration, requesting estimates. The reply I received was tinged with annoyance... which is why they received 1-star from our interaction. I know for a fact they could replace and recover the seats on my bar stools, but she indicated they don't work on aluminum chairs... I guess she saw the metal back and made assumptions instead of asking questions; not a good business practice. Next she quoted $550 to strip and refinish the "redwood" pieces, which is ridiculously high! I could buy nicer new pieces for $550. But the nail in the coffin was when she stated "If you want to discuss further, please call our shop at 317 894 7075 as this is my personal cell phone." I do business where I'm treated well and I don't have to demand accommodation for my disability. Her suggestion that I "call our shop" was like telling someone in a wheelchair to "climb the steps" so we can take your money. No thanks. Maybe another shop wanted my business so much that they installed a ramp to make it easier to do business with them, since you're not going to be accommodating, I'll go elsewhere.

He was responsive, quick, easy to work with and his work lived up to the name. Beautiful job. After he was done, I could not tell where the repair had been made. Dave filled in a corner that had been nicked pretty bad by using a lacquer stick. He recreated the corner, matched the color perfectfully and drew in the grain lines, then sprayed lacquer over it all. He also did two more smaller touch ups and did not charge more than what he had quoted.

I have had a fair amount of upholstery done over the years in another state, but I had no idea about who to use for upholstery in Indianapolis. Sherrill's had excellent reviews (and a good number of them, too). I stopped by their shop with one of my cushions and photos of my sofa. One look at their shop and also a complex project they were working on told me these people know what they are doing. It was organized and professional. In short order, they gave me a price that was right about what I had expected. Pick up and delivery when smoother than smoother, the sofa was done right on time and the work is impeccable. Everything in my life should be so easy.
