I am absolutely IMPRESSED with this adorable, small town/big city quality salon! As someone that just moved from NYC suburbs (Long Beach, NY) to Small Town, USA, I was SO NERVOUS to entrust my hair to anyone other than my colorist who has had my hair in her hands for YEARS in NY. My roots, however, were getting long, my highlights were growing out and my ends were a bit frayed/losing shape on the layers and I felt like I needed a change/lift during winter. I wanted something brighter OR something that would be easier to maintain- I was definitely open to either one but SUPER nervous about trying someone new, especially being outside the NYC metro area where great quality salons are on each corner, basically. I took that for granted, by the way, I now realize!!!!!!! Before I tell you about the amazing colorist I was with, I have to tell you that they carry an awesome line of products just like Joseph Christopher or any other 5 star salon in Manhattan or Long Beach. They also had super cute earrings (yes I bought two pair of costume earrings and an adorable hand-made bracelet AND a pack of hand-made greeting cards - made with stamps/scrap-booking stuff....one of a kind, super cute thank-you cards and thinking of you cards for friends back in NY).......it's just a super cute selection and adorable little salon. I walk in and smiles are all around......everyone is welcoming. I sit down for a talk/consult with Scout, who I found through a girl with adorable blond hair that I met at the local CVS......LOL......that was all I needed- to see someone with good, blond hair and knew I could trust her colorist/stylist......I was in...... Scout took her time to hear what I've done in the past and liked, what I have had done and didn't love, my favorite and least favorite things about my hair and style.......we covered all bases. Scout took her time while working on my hair and made me feel comfortable and welcome...she was very detail oriented and consulted with other colorists to confirm she was making the right decision with the products she was using and methods would give the desired result. I ended up with a full head of foils and she PERFECTLY blended my natural, beautiful, beige blond hair in a sleek, smooth style.....OH she put a toner on to blend everything together (and we were SO THRILLED with the results that Renee, the owner, and Scout (my colorist and cutter) took pictures of my hair as an example photo for those seeking a perfect blonde shade :) I'm thankful that G-d blessed me with this hair and SOOOOO THANKFUL to have Scout and Renee's Salon to maintain this head of hair LOL....... I was visiting for a business trip and desperately needed to get rid of my dark roots so I called Renee's for a partial fill. Tina was my stylist and she was clearly experienced with hair and gave me great recommendations for lowlights and highlights to make my hair look more natural and less fake blonde. Getting your hair done out of state can be scary but Tina did a fantastic job! My highlights and lowlights look great and she was super fast! Next time I am in the area I will definitely go back! I get my my hair done here by Scout Edwards. She is an absolutely AMAZING colorist who really knows her stuff. I have thick, dry, frizzy hair and she makes it look like I am ready for a photo shoot for a hair commercial (the after, not before!) every time. Her experience really shows through when as you sit and get a consultation for each visit. I love that she really takes the time to get to know what I want and the goes about the best way to achieve it. The place has a nice warm homelike atmosphere and you feel very welcome wether it's your first time or your a long standing customer. I highly recommend Scout! read more

Expect a warm welcome from all the staff at Renee's. I had my (pseudo-destination) wedding at The Settler's Inn, and after having a hair trial elsewhere, where the 'do was fine but the 'tude was undesirable, finding Renee's Hair Salon was simply refreshing. The stylists were pleasant, easy to converse with, and seemed genuinely interested in you as a person (not just a head of hair). For a very reasonable price, my bridesmaids, four year-old flower girl, mom and I all got our nails done Friday, and our hair done Saturday. The stylists were prompt, friendly, thorough, and professional. While it was an option for them to come to us, we chose to go to the salon and were allowed to bring snacks and mimosas. When I had a brief overwhelming/slightly stressed out/tearful moment, Tina came to the rescue, not only with words of wisdom and a hug, but also with tissues and a mimosa refresher. :) She's fantastic. I'm leaving a very honest review about my experience at the salon first of all all of us women know that during Covid we could not get our hair done so it's been a long time for me to get my hair done not to mention prior to that I have not colored my hair in 8 months- besides once during covid with a box dye so its been way over due. So before giving my review let me give you a background on my hair, I have always had dry frizzy unruly kinky hair, and yes I have some slight damaged due to color but just did a big chop 2yrs ago and only had it colored 2times since plus the vox dye and let me explain I'm also on medication that damages my hair and in I found out I'm premenopausal and 3 stylists have told me my hair is thinning on the bottom from all of this and they've done what I asked her to do today which she said would not come out how I wanted and said it was from highlighting it. it I've done several several big big chops and cut off 12-inches even and let it start over again and grow back and it still comes in the same way so no matter how much highlight I put in it or cut it or dye it's not going to matter and I don't even color it that often I wait long times in between the color and do root touch up only. So I go into the salon after waiting for to get in 4wks I meet my stylist named Scout, first of all her welcoming was not very nice you know how you want to feel comfortable with somebody that's new? Well she made me feel uncomfortable right from the beginning just the way even how she looked at me and greeted me, so we had our consultation and I told color I wanted, I wanted was a medium brown color with some blonde highlights- not bleached blonde like carmel blonde with dark root and the bottom of my hair would be brown too so just a tad of highlight she wasn't paying attention, I've had it done before plenty of times when my hair was even worse and it came out great then she told me she saw her in my phone pictures and I could see she was getting irritated she was not friendly this is her job. So ok then she told me because of my hair being so damaged, and that it was from the color- (No) Just said what drs and meds and menapause can also do) I explained some of it is but it doesn't matter I know what I'm talking about I've been doing this for years had the big chop it is my age my medication it is not the color we've done chops and I've waited a year with only one time doing highlights and it still grows in the same way I talked to doctors and they said the same thing it doesn't matter so my last stylist said who does hair for the WWF Divas just have fun get your hair colored it's not going to fall out I also wear clip-ins it hides the thinness on the bottom and my hair looks wonderful once it's done but she suggested we build a relationship and should do a neutral color and go from there come back and do more color get it healthier, I have done this I told her for years it doesn't change and again she says well do you think it's because the blond highlights you're putting in. I don't put blonde higlights in Carmel and sometimes 2x in a year only and just get the root touch up done and my color and after a big chop I don't color my hair often just to root touch-ups she didn't want to listen to anything then she wanted a second opinion she's very young and a inexperienced with this type of stuff so I'm not saying she's awful hair, I'm sure she does great work but I explained this in a long consultation on the phone and they said she was wonderful so they wasted 4 wks of me waiting now I have to wait 5 more weeks to go back to the guy that used to do my hair who travels and does hair for the women wrestlers the WWE a wrestlers the Divas. The thing that upset me is she did not let me explain to her my conditions I respect if a stylist is telling you their professional opinion but I know my hair I know my health condition I know what I've been through and that it's not from color damage she's way too young to be telling me it's color damage and that we could nurse it back to health and get it healthy when I was trying to tell her I've been trying to do that for the years since this got bad and since I started doing the big chop over and over with barely coloring and found out about my meds and then early menopause and it kept going back to the same thing. Then at one point she even told me the highlights would not come out the way that I want it they always do , also she didn't even examine or touch my she just looked at it. Very inexperienced so I wanted to leave this review for any women that are older, that might have issues with medication for thinning hair she's way too young and inexperienced for us, and her attitude was not friendly. read more

Absolutely fabulous experience! New to area and left a stylist who knew me well. This is my second visit (first was for cut, today is color and cut). The team at Renee's was fabulous. My wife and I had our moms and sisters join us for the day of hair and makeup and they did a phenomenal job. All of us had our own individual touches, and had intricate up-do's. Even though we had a hair trial and a vague idea of what we wanted, our plans changed slightly on the day of and Tina and Diana worked their magic on our hair. The team at Renee's also did a great job of keeping my wife and I separated while getting ready so we would not see each other on the day of until our first look later. Dana, our make-up artist was able to make seven women very happy with their makeup. She used all natural products and despite having so many faces to take care of she took her time with each one of us. I recently had my wedding at Ledges Hotel/Settlers Inn in Hawley, PA and came to Renee's Hair Studio to have my hair and make-up done. I highly recommend this place. I wanted natural make-up that would look good in photos. The make-up artist, Jeannie, did a wonderful job. Just the right amount of make-up. Renee did my hair, creating a unique style that I received compliments on all day. My grandmother said that I looked like a cameo the way it framed my face. The atmosphere was relaxed and very friendly and down-to-earth. I highly recommend especially for a bride having her wedding in Hawley (or even near by). And the prices are very reasonable, very budget-friendly. I found everything from people to prices better than the reviews of the local spa in town. read more
