They do little details that make the experience so worth it!!! 10/10 recommended Pronovias for your wedding dress experience

This will be a long one, but Brides you really need to know what you are getting yourself into when…read moreit comes to buying a wedding dress! DO NOT DO YOUR ALTERATIONS HERE. Pronovias was the third bridal shop I visited after not finding "the one" previously. I made an appointment online and sent in the names of dresses I would like to try on. I sent 7 dresses and mentioned I liked. Unfortunately, they only had 1 of those dresses in stock so it would be ideal if they just sent me a catalog of in-stock dresses to choose from. On the day of my dress appointment, I met with Daniela who was very kind and sweet. She walked me around the boutique and I tried on around 4-5 dresses. I ended up trying on the Aethra dress and loved it! I didn't say "yes to the dress" that same day as I wanted to think about it and show my mom who wasn't able to join the appointment. I purchased the dress a few days later over email and it was ordered in the sample size 10 as that is what I tried on in store. Sadly, I wouldn't see Daniela again as she ended up leaving the company shortly after. I chose to go with in-house alterations as I thought Pronovias would be best suited to alter their own gowns. This dress has a lot of beading and I imagined them pinning, cutting, customizing it to my body. The alterations flat fee costs $900 which of course sounds insane, but I thought this was normal for the work that would probably be done. I also expected exceptional service. My first alterations appointment was frankly horrible. I cannot remember her name, but this seamstress has what seemed to be zero customer service skills or empathy towards brides. My gown fit tight (still zipped) and I now realize it was probably because those sample dresses are stretched out over time. My measurements hadn't changed. At this point, the seamstress should be making suggestions and letting me know they will take it out here and fix this. Calm my nerves maybe? Absolute silence from her and she pretty much just stared at me while I awkwardly stood there. The only thing this seamstress did during that appointment was pin my waist half an inch around to remove some bunching and offer me two bustle options. Originally she wanted to put only one button which would surely snap. My dress was not and did not even need to be hemmed. ($900!!) The overskirt I ordered hadn't arrived yet and they did not tell me until I got to my appointment. I didn't say much and booked the next fitting. The second fitting I was so happy to have a new seamstress due to my last one running late. I was truly dreading the day beforehand. I also came with "reinforcements" (friends) to speak up for me if the same situation were to happen again. Once again, I try on the dress and of course it's the same situation because only the waist was changed. My friend was the one who had to ask and point out multiple times if something was going to be altered. Only then did the seamstress start cutting and pinning. Why do I have to essentially beg the seamstresses to help me? They ended up letting it out a total of about an inch on the hips and finally on pick-up day the dress fit perfectly. I feel scammed knowing that I spent $900 on "alterations" when they should have been upfront with me on how little work my dress would need. If you see that I am tall, let me know the dress won't even need be hemmed. I guess Pronovias simply only had dollar signs in mind and will happily take advantage of brides. Brides, try on the dress and take those photos to other seamstresses and ask for pricing/what work would need to be done.

Hands down, the absolute best bridal store, ever! Fabio and Hilda go above and beyond to make you…read morefeel like family. They do an amazing job listening to you, and their experience and professional advice when it comes to bridal gowns is priceless. I had only been to one other bridal shop before theirs and the experience was night and day. There was not one dress at Opera D'Arte that I didn't love. Their gowns are handmade in Italy, where Fabio's family is from. The quality and detail of each gown is absolutely beautiful. Each is custom made to fit you like a glove, literally! They even created the most beautiful flower girl dress for my daughter to walk down the aisle as our flower girl. Originally, we were supposed to marry in Italy this summer, but due to COVID-19, had to postpone and move our wedding back home to Miami. We had to postpone our wedding a second time after banquet halls in Miami were shut down. Throughout this incredibly frustrating and stressful process of planning a second wedding and postponing twice, Fabio and Hilda have remained in close contact. They check in on me weekly and offer advice and support. When we had to postpone our wedding a second time, they reached out with suggestions on how to store my dress for an extended period of time until the wedding. Although I still have not walked down the aisle in my beautiful wedding dress, I am so looking forward to wearing my dress and sharing the photos with my family at Opera D'Arte. I would not recommend any other place to go look for your dream wedding gown.

Just called into to see if I could bring my fiance and father who is visiting in town to see the tuxedos for our 300 person wedding on Biscayne Bay, The woman who answered the phone was absolutely unpleasant and said, "You can come in and see what we have but we wont be doing any fittings today, you are far too early for a wedding in January." Do not come here if you have anxiety or want things done timely (I would just lie about your…read moredeadline if you do choose this place). I bought my wedding dress 8 months ago, while I was newly postpartum and still nursing. I had my first fitting 4 months later (around July). I told the owner that I would be losing weight up until a certain point (1 month before the wedding-end of August/beginning of Sept) but after that, they could alter the sides. She told me over and over that there would be time. She reconstructed from halter to sweetheart. She took in the sides before I stopped losing weight (end of July/beginning of August)... and then continuously mentioned how much weight I lost and they need to bring in the dress again. Mind you, we agreed on the date that I would stop losing so she would have time to take in my dress. She chose to take it in before that date- not my fault they have to do double work. A week before the wedding and it still wasn't done. She kept saying I lost more weight so o had her remeasure me. Guess what? Exact same measurements as my previous appt. She didn't even realize that we hadn't done the hem (I had to remind her). I requested to see the dress ONE DAY before our scheduled pick up, and it still wasn't done. She assured me to be at peace that it would be done. Applications were added where I didn't approve (right on the bust and only on one side!)! She said the dress would be ready by the pick up date (THE DAY BEFORE I leave for the airport). I call at 4pm to see the progress and she said the dress and veil aren't done- but it would be done within 3 hrs. 7pm comes around and guess what?! Dress and veil are STILL not done. I get some women are bridezillas but I've been very patient. She's known of this deadline for MONTHS. She even tried to figure out my flight time and when other family members were traveling to the wedding. I sat for 3 hrs waiting for my dress to be ready. I left the store with my dress but I had to leave the country without my veil. My mom went to pick up the following day after we discussed the design at length. Pictures were shown, hand drawing by Esther. She didn't have it ready until 9pm. The veil is nothing like what she drew. To top it off, she told my mom that the reason my VEIL wasn't ready is because of my weight loss! What does weight loss - that stopped A MONTH AGO - have anything to do with creating a custom veil?! I haven't even mentioned my mom's dress... we asked for a panel. It was made about 1cm too small. She refused to make it bigger. Buttons added by the seamstress so the panel wouldn't move on one side but still have flexibility to move on the other. Esther took off the buttons and put ONE stitch, which popped when my mom tried on the dress. Then refused to add the buttons back on as we requested. Lily, the seamstress, is very nice and patient. Even mentioned that my dress wasn't ready because she kept being pulled in different directions by Esther to work on other dresses despite my deadline (literally the day I picked it up). I'm extremely disappointed in the process. Esther, the owner, needs to get a bridal consultant because she can't manage this part of the store on her own. She doesn't meet deadlines, doesn't listen to the brides, gives compliments to deter you from the delays, gaslights you that everything will work out, and keeps telling you "be at peace" and "trust the process". There is no peace. There is no process. And the customer gets blamed for her incompetence. You have to manage her and make sure she's on top of it. In my opinion, she shouldn't even do anything bridal in this store and just stick to Quinceañera dresses. Do not go to Jorka Atelier if you want a good experience. If you want mediocre, late work, then this is the place for you. 0/10 would not recommend.
