I wish the Tandy product would have a little more information on them. For instance, medium rivet. I don't know the depth. Sometimes it's useful to bring in a scrap piece of what you're working with. Sometimes a bit high in price, but then again, I don't have to pay shipping and wait. As mentioned, you can save with becoming a member, and they will help you out to decide if it's worth it for you. It may not be as a hobby. But if you are going to do enough to sell items on Esty or Faire's then it will more than likely be worth it.

Tandy Leather is amazing! I wasn't sure if it would be worth driving out here, but I was 20 minutes…read moreaway for work one day and thought I'd check it out since I'd been admiring things online for ages. So so glad I came in! I'm new to leatherworking, and even having read project instructions and blogs, I wasn't sure what I needed or what to do with the tools and dyes. I browsed for a while and when I was ready to check out, Cass (sorry if I'm spelling it wrong!) asked what I was making and helped me weed out unnecessary tools and replaced them with what I really needed. She also took a lot of time walking around explaining what I'd need to dye leather and finish it, what kinds of coatings to use, and gave me a demo of using the strap cutter, dye, top coat, wax coat, gum tragacanth and edge slicker, as well as both edge bevelers I was purchasing. So so useful! She explained why eyelets won't work in belt holes (buckle pins need an oblong hole or they'll get stuck), and was generally really easygoing, full of great tips, and she gave me the leather sample piece so I could remember what to do. Also, she pointed me to their classes which are free if you get a $35 per year membership, totally worth it for four classes of instruction on carving, tooling, dyeing, etc. I have to make time to come back for that! There was a huge selection of tools in an organized and uncluttered store in a mill building with tons of parking. It's a little out of the way but I'm excited to take classes when I can fit them in and to come back if I have questions. Thanks Tandy!

Finding Milano Leather was a God-given treasure!!! I was looking for some good leather jackets and…read morewinter coats during Black Friday and couldn't find good selections anywhere. I searched AllSaints, Reiss, HiSO, Theory... any designer brand, you name it. They were all overpriced and had no variety to choose from. I can't express how thrilled we were to find Milano Leather, a hidden gem of a leather coat store. The staff was not only friendly but incredibly knowledgeable, guiding us through the vast array of options with genuine enthusiasm. The quality of their European leather goods is unparalleled. The real mink coat and shearling trench coat we purchased was a luxurious masterpiece, perfect for the cold New England winter weather. The two leather jackets not only looked incredible, but were made of a velvety soft leather that felt fantastic to the touch. Imagine how happy we were to walk away with FOUR high-quality coats from this one store, when we were struggling to find just 1 decent coat from dozens of different luxury stores. I highly recommend this place. Suleyman (the owner) and Burcu (the store manager) were fantastic - please ask for them to assist in finding the perfect coat.

It traveled with me for hundreds of thousands of miles and countless speaking tours throughout the world. Time and milage had taken a toll on this faithful companion and my wife "informed me" that the toll taken on my jacket-friend was just too much, and I would no longer be wearing it. She said it was time for us to break up and for me to purchase a new leather jacket. I have looked for 2 years. I didn't want just another jacket. I wanted another jacket just like the one I had . . . My online journeys led me to many sites that had pictures of beautiful jackets but after purchasing and having one shipped to me I immediately returned it due to the poor quality. I had almost given up - and then, I discovered Milano's Leather. I had an appointment in Boston, MA and went online to look for any stores that handled "Men's Leather Blazers." THEY HAVE HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS OF JACKETS FOR MEN, AND WOMEN AND CHILDREN!!! The prices are absolutely astounding (Trust me, I have been searching and I am now an expert!) GO TO MILANO'S NOW and beat the Christmas rush and surprise someone you love with a gift you thought you couldn't afford. I am wearing my new jacket as I type, and I have been wearing it every day since returning home from this beautiful store owned by some VERY beautiful people.

I usually don't write reviews, but I feel one is warranted. Vanson makes the best leather jackets for the money, no contest. New jackets from others in the $300-500 price range are not worth the money, quality of leather, stitching, and fit / design is subpar. These guys make jackets meant to last a lifetime, and survive motorcycle crashes, and they've been doing it since 1974. They also just fit better. Be patient on items not in stock, and you will be glad you did. There's nothing else out there like it. This is a 5-star product all around, made by a family owned business that knows what they are doing. This is not a big box store offshore produced instant gratification product.

I've been blessed to ride about 40K miles a year for nearly most of my life. I also sell motorcycles and I've worn just about every gear made at one time or another. The guys who really ride? - all wearing Vanson and there are a slew of reasons - too many to list here. My first three Vanson jackets were bought used. It wasn't until I started earning a decent living that I could spend for a new one. New or used, their leather has saved me on some long and hairy slides. Another nice bonus of a Vanson is that their competition weight thickness will keep you dry in a downpour for almost an hour. Their gear can be handed down as an heirloom to the next biker/rider in your family. Worth their weight in gold. They'll bury me in my Vanson.
