There is a circle drive so you can drop off disabled or mobility challenged folks or your lovely wife when it's pouring down rain ! There's ample parking and overflow parking a little to the right as you approach parking. There is also a bar but we normally get water. M & F restrooms are located on both sides of the theater entry and are always sparkling clean. The venue is not huge but is open and easy to spot friends. The seats are easy in and out and very comfortable. Ushers are typically students and you should have a great view no matter where you sit. Look ahead for the season and plan ahead or just buy season tickets . Two thumbs up for the Hett!!

The 2025 Edwardsville Art Fair was an absolute blast! The Edwardsville Arts Center (EAC) once again…read moretransformed City Park into a three-day celebration of incredible regional talent. Over 100 artists brought their work, showcasing media from intricate ceramics, crisp photography, and shiny metal jewelry to unique polished wood pieces and, of course, brilliant paints. My personal favorite? Felicia Olin, whose whimsical paintings on canvas and wood keep me looking for her year after year. (I have several of her pieces, including one I got during the Edwardsville Art Fair last year and another at the Fair in 2018!) Other regulars include an artist who uses puffy 3D paints, SIUE art students, a wood and collage artist who makes the most beautiful boxes and mirrors, and, new the last 2 years, an artist who makes beautiful paintings of silly embroidery and nother who makes incredible realistic-looking flower arrangements from a flexible clay. ​The atmosphere was great, too. thanks to the warm but not too hot temperatures (we got lucky there) and the live music on the bandstand (especially the SIUE Jazz Band). And, if you wanted, you could grab a drink, an ice cream, or some food from a food truck or tent, including Global Brew and Cold Stone Creamery, and then sit down to enjoy your selection while enjoying the music and other performing arts. Plus, the fair is a perfect family event, offering kids activities like the Maker's Space. It's awesome knowing that the fair supports the EAC's mission to keep art accessible for everyone. Mark your calendars for next year--you won't want to miss it! Maybe I'll see you there!

It is nostalgic and cool but still has all the needed technology. For Laughs at the Lincoln uses the main floor theatre. Side bar with a friendly waitress, concession stand with great bites and adult slushy in different flavors! The venue staff rolls out the red carpet and treats everyone wonderfully. The theatre has a center section with a side section on either side, even all the way back the sound is great, a nostalgic theater, with a great staff, and fun events outside of the movies they still run,

WoL is a place of cheery holiday warmth and, obviously, light. I wouldn't describe it as the "best ever," and thought that the light seemed a little thin and too monochromatic in places. But I'd do it again just for the tunnel near the beginning. Thanks, WoL, for spreading needed Christmas cheer.

They've added color lights to make things even more amazing with the drive through light display. In the church parking lot, there are camel rides, donkey rides, pony rides, petting zoo, and kettle corn. In the visitor center, they have a wonderful gift shop, Christmas tree displays, wreath auction, quilt raffle, a fabulous Lego Brick Display, and a new must see Interactive Arctic Mission Exhibit. The food stand offers hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, nachos, chili, etc for a very reasonable cost. As left we got our yearly Build a Bear animal-- a donkey this time -- for a minimum $17 donation. Highly recommended for all ages!

I discovered Opera STL when I moved back to St. Louis in 2023, thanks to some friends who…read moregenerously invited me along on a spare ticket. I discovered the Young Friends nights in 2024, and after trying a couple out that season, bought 2 passes for 2025 and again this season (2026), with the intent of taking friends to their first operas, just as had been done for me. I know at least one friend got her mom to come to a performance after tagging along to a show with me this year, so I feel that my strategy is working! Of course, this is Opera STL's greatness and strategy, too. The Young Friends are an awesome deal (dinner and bar and 10 bucks off the ticket price if you bundle just two shows!!), but even if you only go to one regular show, they make the evening so special and fun. They put a ton of effort into their seasons (which are basically only the (packed) month of June!) and to bring great music, theatrical, and art to everyone, at any level of opera entry point. I can't wait for next year (and Young Friend brunches???)

This performance of center stage was performed by the opera and the STL Orchestra!…read moreI loved hearing all the different languages sung but the subtitles helped a lot to understand the message of the story. The event is a little too long with a 2 hour and 30 minute run with a 20 minute intermission plus an extra 20 minute free champagne toast afterwards. The crowd was mainly older patrons but the opera is always encouraging young people to attend and even have discounts. They do offer desserts, coffee, and alcohol purchases before the show and during intermission. If you want to join in the event prior to the show, have a light picnic dinner before the show starts. That portion is separate from your ticket and eaten outside under a tent at a picnic table. The venue is mainly accessible but those accessible seats go fast as they are oddly extremely limited. They will ask to hold your walker, rollator, and transport chair to save space in the auditorium. Best to bring a cane if possible.
