We were looking for a performing arts theater in Milwaukee, and came across Renaissance Theaterworks while walking around the 3rd ward. I've been to many professional theaters in Madison, NY, Chicago and LA., and Renaissance was every bit as good.
We purchased tickets to see Smell to Kill for about $30.00 a person. Prior to heading in to see the show, I purchased a glass of wine for $6.00 at the bar upstairs. The theater has a small stage area, which works well with the room square room.
I'm a frequent theater goer back in Chicago, so I was pretty accustomed to the folding chairs in this place. All of the seats here provide for a good view of the stage, and the acoustics are also well done. It's really sad to see that more young people do not go out to see a play. Most of the visitors were senior citizens at this show, but I think anyone would have appreciated the story line.
If you are into the performing arts and want to visit a good theater in Milwaukee, Renaissance is a great place. All of the actors in the production we saw were very talented and funny and I would go again. read more
