Fell into this joint while visiting my family in the Chi. I came from Los Angeles. They play pretty kool housemusic to me but what do I know. Watched the end of the playoffs and everybody was dancing. Did not drink but it was kool people there and great vibes. Parking was easy on the streets. Walked right in. No cover charge. Really big space too.

This place is disgusting and needs to be shut down. I attended a Super Bowl Party here last night. I had a 6 dollar watered down Apple Martini.... It was clear, but suppose to be green! There was no running water. The toilets were full of feces, blood, and urine. The sinks did not work, so no one could wash their hands. The bar was serving drinks in plastic cups. They had a restaurant catering food there, and charging about 6 dollars for 5 wings. But of course we know their hands were dirty. The floors were also covered in water in the front of the bar and they used a fan to dry the carpets . It was just disgusting . The health department needs to inspect this place ASAP !!!! Serving food and drinks with no working bathrooms is a health code violation .

I was able to score some tickets for a day party held at this location This is the former spot, of jokes sand notes comedy club that I used to frequent often I love what they have done to the place open seating comfortable couches on dim lighting when you walk outside there's a patio and firepit they even had set up some hookah for the guests to enjoy Everything was clean and spotless because we were some of the first guests to arrive no issues with the bathrooms the only issue I would say was for the event itself and it pretty much balls on the promoter which stated in the flyer that you would get free Refreshments until it was exhausted so when I found who to voice my concerns to which was a gentleman in the Hat I cannot recall his name right now he took care of the problem and promptly bought a appetizers to eat he bought my first round of drink and my girlfriend bought several others they had a drink promotion for the evening that the DJ on the ones and twos were was amazing we had a decent time

All ages can groove to the song rhythm. Everybody is here to dance. ENTRANCE FEE after 11 pm ranges from $10-20 depending on crowd/event. VISA/MC accepted. Diverse FASHION. MEN: Eddie Bauer sweater, suits, fedoras, zip up sweater, 1-800-THIRSTY T-shirt. WOMEN: glitter, studs, club wear, pants, short skirts, heals, flats. LOUNGE area. DANCE/DJ area has the group seating, selfie wall with some lighting, itty bitsy formal dancing area with a step and bar. 4 speakers from the front and along the side (across the bar). BATHROOM was nasty. No toilet paper. It seems like there are 2 sets of bathroom - dance and lounge. DRINKS take forever. Difficult to get Bartender attention. Inefficient bar setup. $2 bottled water. Plenty of wine spritzer. Stick to basics.

Renaissance Bronzeville is a nice spot here on the South Side. Stop in for a cold one Thursday after working late and it was a whole party. That night was deep house and the vibe was great! People were festive, dancing and the music was very nice. This place just looks good. The bar backs pour decent cocktails and the prices aren't ridiculous. I'll definitely be back.

Ask the Community - Renaissance Bronzeville

    Is there s cover charge?

    Not before 11

How is the crowd here, mature (30+), younger (21-30), or mixed?

Pretty diverse crowd. I'd say the group is progressive. Drinks aren't cheap, so that kind of regulated the crowd control.

Can tennis shoes/sneakers be worn here?

    Tennis shoes are ok

Is there a cover at the door?

    Not until after 11..

How do I reserve a VIP seating for a birthday party this Saturday. I've been calling the contact information that's listed but I'm not getting an answer and it keeps saying that the voicemail is full?

Shun Dyes contact him to obtain this info.

    Do they serve food?

I didn't notice any food. Just drinks from the bar or bottle service.

Some like it hot what night is spoken word?

It seemed like all the seats were super low to the ground and i'm pretty short so not sure how the taller folks feel. It felt super awkward to sit in the space. Our drinks tasted like pure perfume so it was disappointing considering they were almost $20. I'll be skipping out on the lounge and will only enjoy the restaurant spaces in the future. You simply choose your preferred spirit, flavor profile, and glassware, then let the mixologist create something just for you. It's one of my favorite cocktail experiences in the city, and they've never steered me wrong. What I especially appreciate is how knowledgeable the bartenders are. They're always happy to offer recommendations if you're unsure what to order, but they're equally excited to create something completely unique if you're feeling adventurous. Watching them craft each drink is part of the experience. I've even hosted a birthday gathering here in their private side room, where we enjoyed charcuterie boards alongside our cocktails. If you're just stopping in for drinks, though, I'd recommend grabbing dinner beforehand, as the food offerings are fairly limited. More often than not though, you'll find me sitting right at the bar. I love watching the bartenders showcase their craft and chatting with them about the incredible selection of spirits they have on hand. It's a great spot for anyone who genuinely appreciates well-made cocktails and the artistry behind them. I'm also a member of their loyalty program, which is well worth joining. It can be used at The Berkshire Room as well as several other excellent restaurants, making it an easy way to earn rewards while exploring some great dining spots around the city. Whether you're a cocktail enthusiast or simply looking for a sophisticated place to unwind, The Berkshire Room consistently delivers. I'll definitely be back for another Dealer's Choice soon! #YelpEliteSquad

The Snaquiri (9/10) drank more like a sweet cocktail than a typical shot, and the Cream Crush (9.5/10) was creamy, citrusy, and one of my favorites. The Rêve Fries (7.5/10) were super addicting with sweet seasoned salt and a chipotle aioli. The Chicago Popcorn (7/10) had stale cheddar popcorn, but the miso caramel popcorn was great. Crispy, perfectly balanced, and honestly better than Garrett's caramel popcorn. The Rêve Burger (7.5/10) was a solid classic burger with melted American cheese and pickles. Nothing groundbreaking, but executed well. The Wagyu Short Ribs (8.5/10) were super tender with creamy mashed potatoes, rich sauce, and a nice crunchy topping. The Pot de Crème (9.5/10) completely exceeded my expectations. Between the espresso ice cream, genmai crunch, tea mousse, and chocolate mousse, it tasted like a chocolate milk tea with tons of different textures. Imagine my shock when we didn't even make it past the bouncer because he was so rude, AS OTHER RECENT REVIEWS HAVE MENTIONED AS WELL! We had dinner nearby and walked to Bisous after, and saw there was a line of 5 or 6 people outside. We expected this as we knew Bisous is a first come, first serve bar. We were curious what the wait time would look like, so we approached the front door to ask a host or employee inside (we assumed there'd be a desk with an employee working it who could give us a wait time). We had no problem waiting, just wanted to see how long they estimated it would be! Before we could even fully open the door, the bouncer swung the door open from the other side and hit me with the door. I stumbled back a few steps and he looked at us and said, and I quote, "What do you want?". I laughed at first because I thought he was joking and putting on a tough guy act. He was not. We quickly explained we just wanted to see what the wait time was, and he said "don't you see there's a line outside?" We said yes, and explained we just wanted to know a rough estimated wait time. He just blankly stared at us while ushering us out. Both my boyfriend and I have worked in customer-service roles for a very, very long time. This encounter was not only extremely rude and unprofessional, but he also hit me hard enough with the door to send me stumbling back, and then said nothing about it and continued to address us in a tone that was nothing less than annoyed and irritated. We didn't end up going inside because that encounter left such a bad taste in our mouths. I don't believe in spending my money at establishments that don't treat their customers with the bare minimum respect they deserve! Bummed we didn't get to experience it, as I'm sure it was lovely inside and I can only hope the rest of the employees were much more kind and accommodating, or at least able to answer a simple question. Fire your "bouncer" (??) and hire someone with some basic customer service and communication skills!!
