When I asked him why he charges $400/hr he just shrugged and said that's my rate, knowing I had no other convenient options. (BTW, I bought the garbage disposal and faucets myself at Lowe's. He only installed them.) This was enough to make me never use him again. However, in the past several months two of the joints on the line from the disposal and the other sink have literally come loose (as in come apart) because they were not adequately tightened) causing water to flow suddenly from the cupboard into the kitchen and the utility line in the basement. I think I sent the messages at around 7am and Lindsey with Bluebird was calling me within 30 minutes. They were able to get me on the schedule for end of day and Dathan called around noon saying he could come early. He was quick, friendly, and was able to troubleshoot the problem. It's a simple gesture, but him showing up and putting shoe covers on before coming through the house was appreciated. He gave my wife a few options for how he could fix the problem. He had same day options, later in the week, and even gave some recommendations on toilet changes since she told him we wanted to get a new one. Hiring a plumber is never fun or cheap but I felt like the diagnostic fee was fair especially for being able to come out within 5 hours of me reaching out. I hope we don't need them again soon, but I'll be going straight to them next time the need arises.
